2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ ~ March, April and May ~Do Not Post Here-Old Thread

Hi...I know it was mentioned that Teena was working today, I just wanted to confirm something....does this mean you can get an extra refrigerator in non-villa rooms along with the microwave? Sorry if this is a "Dumb" question.

Not a dumb question! This was news to me. That what I am interpreting from what Teena wrote.

Glad you enjoyed the review. Honestly, my family prefers Kona to 'Ohana. The food at 'Ohana is all great, but there is too much of it! I'm a really enthusiastic eater, but even I have my limits.

There was too much food at Kona, too, but that was our fault. By "our" I mean DH- I told him he and Ben should have split one entree.

We also appreciated that the atmosphere is less hectic at Kona.

We are eating there on a MK EMH night, so I suspect 'Ohana would be a bust since DS will probably dying to get in & out of the restaurant and get to MK sooner rather than later :rolleyes1

And I see by our tickers that we are arriving with 1 day of each other. Where are you staying on the class trip?

How does this sound for a two day plan for 2 adults and 2 fifteen year olds?

Monday Oct 8
Check in about 10am, explore CL lounge (whats there that time?), have lunch at HH by 1130 to beat the crowds, hit SAB til about 3pm than get ready for MSSHP and get there between 4&5, have counter service dinner somewhere(?), close MK.

Tuesday Oct 9
Breakfast at CL lounge, SAB all day, lunch at HH, mid-day snack at HH (kitchen sink), later dinner buffet at Cape May.

Wednesday Oct 10
Breakfast ot CL lounge, SAB for a couple of hours before check out.

As you can see, SAB figures very centrally in our vacation plans:)

I know there are lots of great choices for meals at the YC/BC, feel like we are going to miss out on so much. This is our first time at BC and so excited, can't wait for my family to see how cool it is!

Any suggestions? Changes?

Thanks!

Awesome plan. Except I would ditch the two fifteen year olds! *wink*
says the lady going to the World with 140 teens!

According to the info on page 1, there should be breakfast items in the lounge from 10-10:30. I believe the lounge is still open 24 hours for coffee/drinks since I haven't heard differently, but there won't be any food offerings until the snacks come out at 11:30 (homemade kettle chips and dip, trail mix, Swedish fish, cookies)

I think a couple of places you mention HH (Hurricane Hanna's) you mean Beaches and Cream, although it is a confusing situation. B&C is the sitdown burger and ice cream place, HH has B&C burgers and other sandwich offerings as counter service, right by the pool.

A combination of the two while you are spending time at SAB would definitely work!

We are going to be over at All Star Movies. Hey if you see me roaming the parks sheparding 8-10 teenage boys who are all taller than I am, come over and say hello. Or a better idea. Run away! Quickly!

Or should I look for the lady, sipping a Sunken Treasure at HH, longingly wishing she was inside SAB? :rotfl:

You must be a saint for traveling with that many kids!!! (and at a value resort!! KIDDING!!! :rolleyes1) Hope everyone has a great time!

ok now i know its a week before i get to the beach club. But I just looked at the advance forecast and it says rain the entire length of our stay!!!! I know these things can and do change and that there are thundershowers during the day that last for limited amount of time. but when we went in may 2009 it poured like 5 days of the 8 and it was miserable..i really hope I am not heading for a repeat of that.

anyway just had to vent I hope the next week brings some sunny skies

Vent Away!!! I know you must be frustrated..........keeping my fingers crossed that it will all clear away!

Either way, I know you will enjoy your stay.

Finally caught up!!

Teena so happy to hear about your health :) hope you enjoy your granddaughter!!

Thanks to all who gave me in put on the taxi question :)

Dh and j celebrated our anniversary quietly yesterday, can't wait for our real "date" in epcot!! We don't get to go out here at home, so this will be a lovely treat!

I did online check in today!! Tried to add my request for a full balcony, but it said my request couldn't be added. Guess too many others beat me to the punch, but that's ok. Dh and I can talk on the bathroom floor lol, it's still better than being at home.

Won't lie when I say I'm worried about the weather though!! Praying it isn't a washout. Being our first family vacation ever, it'd be so disappointing!!

No alcohol for the chaperones!!! Now is everyone REALLY jealous?

Regarding the weather- I think Feckless had the same forecast for her trip this week. I don't think she has mentioned an overwhelming amount of rain. Wishing the best for both of you for the weather this coming week.

I haven't done the online checkin, but I don't think anybody is able to add "Full Balcony" as a request when you do this. The request for a full balcony must be on your reservation- so either your travel agent or you should call the Disney reservation number (the one used to book your trip) and add this to your reservation.

I'm not sure, but it probably is still not too late, even though you have "checked in" Your room still may not be assigned for a day or so or maybe not even until right before you arrive.

:lmao:

Count us as another family who strongly prefers Kona to 'Ohana.:thumbsup2

To those worried about the weather, I've noticed over the years that rain is almost always in the forecast every day this time of year. In our experience, it's not usually anything to worry about. It could be those quick afternoon showers or even the kind of thing where it rains at the MK but not DAK. Seriously on one recent trip, there was a shower on the parking lot side of BC but not on the Crescent Lake side. :scratchin So weird to watch from the lobby. Not that there can't be rainy days but washouts are the exception. Here's hoping all of us have great weather in the next couple weeks.

I have a dumb question and am afraid to post it in another forum. I know you guys will answer me and be nice! :thumbsup2

Since we are not headed to the BCV until Sept I was going to hold off and wait to get my park tix when we check in. Now with the rumors of ticket prices increasing this summer I am reconsidering purchasing them early and I may go through Undercover Tourist. My question is this: when I check in for the BCV (not a dvc owner, I'm renting points) am I able to transfer my tickets onto my key card?? I've never done the on-site Disney vacation so I have no idea what the process is for dining, room and tix all in one place...
Thanks for your help!

We have always been able to do this by going to the Guest Services desk. We haven't stayed at BCV yet, but all of the other DVC resorts are able to do it, so I can't imagine that BCV wouldn't. :)

Hi all! I've been lurking in this thread for awhile but now that I finally have my BC reservation I thought I would come out of hiding. I will be staying at the BC for my very first time ever July 24- August 1st. This looks to be a very special visit with my sister, her twins and my son. Can. not. wait. I will be crossing off a bucket list item when my toes first enter SAB! :cool1:

We would love to host the noodle family during that time period if possible. Thanks!

I am not entirely sure that the advance forecasts can predict the weather that far out. I think a 5 or 7 day forecast would be more accurate. So much can change in a week's time. Hang in there, your forecast may change by next week.

I am hopeful of this as well. I guess I am just traumatized from my may 2009 trip it was a washout.
thanks everyone for the encouraging words
