2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ ~ March, April and May ~Do Not Post Here-Old Thread

I think Jeanne is actually the most excited. Somebody is coming to help her in the classroom and get caught up on grading all the papers!!

Hurry up Tuesday!

Good news: I just returned from my six month check-up at the Mayo Clinic and I'm good to go until the Fall. I was sweating today big time and now I can really enjoy this upcoming trip to Jeanne's! My Bob is so wonderful to drive me all the way up there and back in one day!

Teena, that's is THE BEST news yet!!! Boy what a nice relaxed time you will have now.............except for the grading of papers!!

Jeanne is lone lucky girl to have a Mom like you.

Hi everyone! I am new to the DISboards and just came across this thread and it is fantastic. It's going to take awhile to get through all of the posts but I love all of the tips and info being exchanged.

We will be staying at BC from Aug.5-11 and the entire family cannot wait. This will be our second stay here.....we have worked our way up through the different resort levels over the years!:thumbsup2 BC is, by far, our favorite place to stay. My DD(15) and DS(13) love Epcot and being that close is amazing! And SAB is a great place to unwind after a day at the parks.

Well, just wanted to say hi and thank everyone for all of their contibutions!! I'm looking forward to getting through all of the posts.:surfweb:

Hello and Welcome!!! Isn't it funny that your teens and my teen LOVE Epcot, and yet I read on some threads how some adults AND teens/kids don't' enjoy it at all!!! My entire family spends EVERY night in EPCOT (except 1 which is saved for DD to see MK fireworks).

Bumping up the question just a few posts ago. Has anyone eaten at the Crews Cup?
We ate in Crews Cup in 2011 and loved it :thumbsup2 we had buffalo chicken strips, burgers and chunky chips (sort of like the ones served in Rose and Crown in Epcot:)

Great News Teena!!! Yes you can really enjoy your trip.
If we don't have a chance to see you Sunday, have a great visit.

Only one has a daybed. Keep in mind that unless you are a party of five, a daybed is not guaranteed. You can request one but there is no guarantee you will get one. The rooms on the fifth floor are funny. Some just won't hold a rollaway bed either because of the way they are set up. You can always request and get a rollaway bed but that doesn't mean some rooms will be set up to fit one in it comfortably. There are only 9 club level garden view rooms to begin with.

Thank you, and thank you natebenma, good information, I will definately not do the GV upgrade then.

I was really excited to stay at BC to be close to Epcot and for SAB, but the sleeping situation is causing me grief. We thought if we didn't get a Daybed then we would just get a rollaway, but if a rollaway doesn't always fit comfortably, then I have some doubts.

Thinking maybe I need to change to either a 1 Bedroom Villa at AKL - Jambo which has a sleeper sofa and sleeper chair or switch to Poly with the guaranteed daybed.

Anyway, thanks for all you help, that's why I love the Disboards, someone almost always knows the answer.

We have a standard view club level room booked at the Beach Club and as I am still not 100% sure of my choice, I was pricing rooms on Disney.com, and saw I could upgrade to garden view club level at BC for like $28 more for the whole week, so I am thinking no brainier here. But as I looked at the description of the room options, it never mentions a day bed. It says one queen bed or two queen beds. I really need the day bed as my DS16 and DD20 are not going to share a bed. Does anyone know if there are day beds in the Garden View CL rooms at BC?

They won't even let a family of 5 book a GV CL room anymore because so few had daybed. I'm not sure if after the latest classifications any of the CL GV rooms have daybeds anymore.

TEENA - Fantastic News! I am sooo happy for you. Now you can really enjoy your trip with Jeanne and Princess Lily. I know between myself and my son I used dread waiting for the results - and when they came out good it was such a feeling of elation. Know that you and your family are always in our prayers.

Feckless - Have you eaten at Tutto Italian before? I was wondering how it compared to the "old Tutto Italia" menu. It's one of our favorite restaurants and we're booked there again in July. Sounds like you are definitely having a magical trip - I'm going to try to the Soaring after dinner trick!

Beyond Happy you got such amazing news!!!! Enjoy your trip! cant wait to see you in like 10 days! YAY!

We booked YC 8/7-8/13, waterview. My requests are: 1st floor (medical resons), near lobby and a daybed. My teens 17 and 14, won't share a bed.

Does anyone know if there are daybed available for waterview, 1st floor rooms? I know that the daybed is just a request, but it would make our sleeping arrangements, so much easier :)

Also, can you see Illuminations from waterview rooms at the YC?

thank you!

Thanks for sharing your happy news with us Teena!!!

I once had a water-view room on the 5th floor at the YC that had a balcony where we could watch Illuminations (not the whole show, though, just the high fireworks part). I'm not sure about rooms on the first floor, though.

Hi! What is the difference between the 1 bdrm dedicated and the 1bdrm lock off? I know that there will be two entrances, but other than that, is there a difference? Thank u!:goodvibes

I'm not sure I'll be able to handle the level of excitement I've been feeling since booking ... for another 4 ... long ... months.

Share Your Favourite "Over There" Eats?:

Where do you guys like to eat over on the Boardwalk or over in the Swan / Dolphin? We've eaten at ESPN before and that was fine. Tried a cupcake from the Boardwalk Bakery and espresso from the Boardwalk Joe's. Eaten at Fresh Market for breakfast. Haven't tried any of the other options "across the water" though. Since we like to stroll over there quite a bit, I'm all ears for suggestions.

Another "room request" question for the experts:

Lovely IPO got in touch with me in mere hours of my booking, talk about efficient! I told them my kiddo had fun sleeping on the "little bed" (day bed) so upon their recommendation, they put a "king bed" room request in. We've booked a SV room for this year and I was wondering, is it worth having them note "quiet" room on the request? Don't want to be too picky, really. I just don't want to wind up right next to the lounge or elevators. (We had a flippin' excellent room last year, it was a SV and we could see Epcot fireworks right from our bed -- and it was quiet to boot.) :thumbsup2

I just have to share this news with people that understand. I called today to add a room request and the CM was wonderful and reworked some numbers for me which allowed me to change to CL. I am so excited! Every time I read about CL I wish we could upgrade and honestly I didn't even pay close enough attention to all the CL details because it made me sad that we couldn't do it. Well now I need to pay closer attention and go back and re-read some posts! I've had a crummy week, but it's all better now!

Oh and two weeks from right now, we'll be in the air!
