I have been looking and looking and everything is booked..
I have been looking and looking and everything is booked..
Our TA has quoted us an extra $500 for 5 days/4 nights for club level. My DH is really pushing for it, but I'm not sure it's worth the money. We're not doing the meal plan, so our TA thought it might be a nice thing to do. Digging around the board, though, it sounds like the BC's CL isn't as nice as others? Should we just spring for it?
Teena, what do you think the chances are tht the beach club will still have my room?? Now I'm freaking out tht all my plans are going to be screwed up.. Since you work there I was wondering you had the inside scoop? And when I call do I ask directly for guest services?
Many others have mentioned the reasons they love BC, and it's not limited to SAB. We choose BC even in colder months when our pool time will be more limited. The lobby, our wonderful warm welcome from Teena, the music, the scents, the BC Marketplace in the early morning, late night malts at B&C, the light and airy room decor, the grounds, the stroll around Crescent Lake, the many dining options in World Showcase and the Epcot resort area, the walk to Epcot and DHS, the friendship boats . . . the list goes on and on. I love many WDW resorts for many reasons, but BC remains my favorite.
Everything you said is what my family loves about BC. We arrive on 4/28 so the pool closure won't affect us. We wouldn't switch resorts even if parts of SAB were closed during our stay, we would just head over to one of the quiet pools. We recently stayed at Bay Lake Tower and although we thought it was a great resort, I really missed the BC.
Can't wait for our BC stay next month!!!
Thanks Teena. Looking forward to seeing you again. I saw somewhere on this thread that your days and hours changed. What days will you be working? We arrive the morning or 4/28 and will be leaving 5/8.
Thank you Teena for all the info you've provided about the pool closure. I really appreciate it.
We have decided to stay put at the BC for our trip even though I had a brief moment where I considered switching. I think my six year old son is going to love everything no matter where we stay. We took him to chattanooga, tn last fall and he thought the courtyard marriott was the coolest place ever so I can only imagine what he's going to think about the beach club (even without the entire pool)
This is the first time we have ever been to Disney and I've been wanting to go since I was 5 so after 25 years of anticipation I'm not going to let the pool closure ruin it!![]()

I had a weird thing happen with Disney and thought I would share. I am booked at BC CL and poly split stay for June. I called DAILY to try to extend my trip by a day - for 30 days straight I called. Nope no luck. I had a pin code and the CMs felt this was the issue - no room under this pin.
Ok then I get a girl who was a ball of fire . Loved this CM. Not only did she give me an additional discount on the poly some way some how, but she told me the problem with trying to adjust a reservation is the system doesn't recognize it sometimes and just says sorry no room. So she pretended I was a NEW reservation and started fresh, new reservation wtih my pin code, and bingo. No problem. All the room I needed and all my dates available. She told me if I ever strike out with trying to extend a reservation or
modifying it to a new resort, have the CM start fresh and re request entire date range on new reservation.
But I really think you just have a case of Buyers remorse right now. It is human nature to want what we ca't have and then we get it and are suspicious of hey why did I get that so easy? It is easier to desire something than to have it and own it. I think your switching to the Poly is what you must have wanted - else why would you have called you know? so take it as a sign that you got the room there, saved a little money, etc. you know what you will get at the Poly. you can't anticipate the same for BC b/c of pool closure, crowds, etc. Think it over and if you can't switch to BC, take that as your sign. I am a HUGE believer in signs. They run my life and I am happier for it!!!!!!I don't fret.
T We have gone through ALot in the past 5 years. ( think multiple lay-offs. Severe money problems and my cancer in 2010.) last yer was our " dream trip" we did everything we wanted. Split stay, ddxp.. It was amazing!!!
I work Sundays and Mondays but they asked me to switch to Saturdays and Sundays instead. Not sure when the change will start. I'm still Sunday and Monday this week. And they also said sometime "soon" my hours would be extended to ten hour days. Right now I work 9:30 AM to 5:45 PM. After they extend the days I think it will probably be 8:00 AM to 6:15 PM.
Unfortunately we only get a week's schedule a few days in advance.
I can totally relate to this! Our Oct. trip is our dream trip. We've worked hard to get to it. We're going Deluxe all the way and I can only begin to imagine your disappointment right now. I've been following your posts and Teena's advice. She wouldn't steer you wrong. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that you can get back to BC. I get the feeling that you'd be happier at BC with a partial pool than at Poly right now, so I hope you can speak to someone who can get you back there.
Will you be there on Easter? We will be there all day except for breakfast and dinner. Oh we will be there saturday too so maybe we will see you then.

Now hubby is saying he doesn't want to switch. I think either way I'm gonna have an issue. Imagine if I changed the the rehab is done by the time our trip happens.. I'll be the chick crying at the Poly..
