2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ ~ March, April and May ~Do Not Post Here-Old Thread

180 days out until we return to BCV and BC. I booked all our dining reservations this morning and got everything within 1/2 hour of my requested time (if not exact time I was looking for)! Only one I have to call back for is Jiko because the CM told me she couldn't make it because reservations weren't released yet for Friday evening, 9/28. Has this happened to anyone else? I will try calling back either later today or tomorrow. Edit: Called reservations back tonight and was able to book Jiko for Friday night of our trip!!

We will have a one bedroom at BCV and a room at BC for my daughter and her friend who decided to join us when we were able to get the free dining! Yay! We decided to do deluxe dining and do many signature restaurants to give them all a try. We did Artist Pointe last time and loved that restaurant!

Can I be added to THE list for Sept 23-29! Thanks! And thanks for all the information and fun you provide on a daily basis!

In the past, after hours checking of room keys and wristbands at SAB has been inconsistent in the evening hours. Last summer, as Robyn indicated, admission was scrutinized the whole time the pool was open. As a guest of the Beach Club or Yacht Club resort, if the policy of Guests Only admission to SAB is important to you, please let the GM of the resorts know this!

You may write to:
Mim Flynn, General Manager
Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Resorts
1800 EPCOT Resort Boulevard
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830

If enough letters are written to Ms. Flynn about this subject, hopefully it will ensure that SAB admission will once again be scrutinized after 5 PM every day.

.

Count me in on writing a letter too!! We spend a lot of time at the pools, especially the afternoons during our "break" time and love that our daughter has a spot to play without it being overcrowded! Thanks for the tip!

I totally agree with this. My family loves CL! It is nice to have breakfast all set (good choices too) and we use it when we are hanging out at the pool and then again in the evening for desserts & drinks. The CL CM's are very friendly and helpful, if you need them for anything. We enjoy it so much, I wish CL were an option when staying DVC.

We agree too! We loved the snacks and drinks all day to take with us and also the coffe in the morning. Unlike most, we really didn't partake in much of the other offerings...well except my hubby during the beer hour where he would stuff our room fridge full for later in the evening since we did early signature dinners (like 5:30) and usually missed much of the offerings. BUT I'd still stay CL any time we go!! Any trouble with a bill, the staff handled...DVDs for our daughter to watch at bedtime, they had a library...any changes to ressies, no problems and even special requests, like milk for our daughter (even when it wasn't out). I can't say enough nice things about the BC CL staff!

How deep are the quiet pools? Do they start shallow or is the whole thing deep. Can a pool noodle be used?

Hi My2CrazyGirls! The BC quiet pool does not have zero depth entry, but there are several stairs on one end of the pool. Both ends of the pool are 3 ft, 6 inches and the center of the pool is 4 ft, 3 inches. And based on our personal experience, pool noodles are great fun in the BC quiet pool!

Paul my darling, Where are you?!?!? Are you under a mattress?!?!? Send us a sign, We are looking for you.......

:rotfl2:

Well, we know he has cell service, wherever he is.....an iPhone, no less!

I think those Noodles are living it up on a private island somewhere....:cool2:

I know, the noodles decided they needed a break and checked into the BC fantasy closet. I bet they are enjoying the slushie machine and the full balcony. I think someone needs to check there, now where is the map to find it?:banana::banana:

CL is really AWESOME!!!
Once you go CL it's hard to go back!
I think the breakfast is the best, not worrying about it and being able to eat quick and get to the parks.

:welcome:

Please add my travel dates to the thread: November 20-27, 2012 at the Beach Club

I will add you to the list!

I'll absolutely add you to the list!

Calling back was totally the right thing to do. One year I called 180 days out and was told I was a day early. Hung up, called back about 30 minutes later, and made all of my reservations.

I am required to travel for work to Orlando in April... so I worked in a 1 day vacation and booked the BC for 4/15 :cool1: I'll have an afternoon and whole day to enjoy the F&G festival and the BC

As my stay is within the SAB partial closure can anyone tell me if I'm reading the map correctly and the tower section (not sure what else to call it - it's the really high section with the lounge chairs at the top) is open? This is the perfect place to enjoy the sun with a good book :cloud9:

Noodle Family, We love you and hope you are enjoying yourselves! I hope you are back, when I am at BCV this June.

To all at WDW, Enjoy!

Only a couple weeks until I can check in online for our first stay at BCV :cool1:!! We've booked a 1bedroom - any advice on what to put on my special requests? I've never done the online check in- but thought I might try it this time! Couple things I thought of:

Near a Pool: Our DD (almost 2) will be napping during the afternoons - and I'd love to be close to the pool - so either DH or I can sit at the pool (or both if we're super close and the video baby monitor reaches) - but not sure how thick the doors are? Wondering if it would be really loud to be that close to the pool?

With a View: Do all the BCV have a full balcony? Can you see any of the fireworks from them? DD goes to bed early so we won't be able to see most of the fireworks - would be pretty cool to see them from the balcony :goodvibes

Any advice is appreciated!!

We enjoyed our stays in the rooms near the lobby of BCV. We stayed on the third floor once and on the first floor twice. Once was facing the pool, the other toward the courtyard between BCV and the BC.

When facing the pool, we were a little further down the hall (toward the main drive up to the BC) but noise was not an issue.

I would suggest a room on the first floor, near the lobby for quick access to the quiet pool. Even asking for a pool view.

All BCV rooms have a full balcony or patio (first floor).

Hope you enjoy your stay at BCV! We've always enjoyed it there.

When my boss asked me what was the best thing about Disney, I said walking down the hall in the morning to get a bowl of oatmeal. :)
