From my understanding you can book a room into the next year. And my opinion....Never too early to book a room at Yacht Club!



If I book now will the rates be locked in at today's prices? or will they change if there is a rate increase?

I don't think it locks in. Just guarantees your room/roomtype. Maybe someone with experience can chime in.

The good news is that when/if discounts come out you can apply them to your dates if the room is available for discount. This I have done! Let us know and you can be the first member of the Nov 2013 Guest List! Good luck and happy booking.

I believe you can book by phone like 500 days out. They will charge you the highest rate for your room type, and you have to pay first night as a deposit (if room only) or package downpayment of $200.

However as new rates come out you can call and have them adjust your rates and your deposit can be applied to a package payment or your first night plus some towards the room only rate. They don't refund overage just apply towards the rest of your bill.

I went ahead and booked a POFQ room a little over a year out on a AAA rate just to ensure a room. It now does not look good for any discounts at my prefered resorts during my time so I'm really glad I booked early (still hoping for a Fall room only discount to BC) so at least I get some discount and the AAA's go early.

No Magical Express. DH wants to get here quick, so we used Tiffany Town car. Our luggage was quick off the plane so hardly any wating. Safe travel to you! Warm & drizzling today but no need for ponchos yet.

Hope you have a wonderful time!!!! Don't forget the topiaries at the front of the park - I did on my trip when I used the IG entrance - woops!

We are surprising the kids in October and the more we think about it we will want to tell them that morning before heading to the airport since someone at the airport will mention Orlando. Our kids are smart and will start putting it all together.

So, we are looking for maybe a video that we can personalize and play for them after breakfast. Maybe like the personal Santa Videos around Christmas but will Mikey or Goofy or another Disney character.

Any suggestions?

We are 450 miles into our 990 mile drive. Today we stop in savannha, ga for the night then off to Daytona beach for 2 nights. Hope to catch Space X launch. Then on to the swan and then the yacht club.

By the time I post this, you will probably be in Daytona. I hope you have a great time in Florida!

We waited until we drove up to the airport to tell ours!! it was great. We parked, got out and started to get the luggage out............when she asked where we were going and we finally told her IT WAS PRICELESS!!!

We are planning for third week in October.....I am having BC withdrawal - it has almost been 2 years since our last visit - longest time ever between visits. So, hoping for October food and wine!!

I would love to sneak a trip in this summer, but do not want to plan for it as our summer is crazy. I keep telling DH we could just hop in the car and drive if we couldn't get airfare at last minute - he thinks I am crazy.

And it looks like you are going to be in Disney soon! Sounds like a plan for your anniversary! Feel like food and wine would be some much more fun now that kids are older or could just go without them! Our 25th is in December 2014.

She's doing great today long night of having to wake her every few hours, but the worst is behind us. They said no rides for 48 hours, which is fine since we won't be hitting a park until Friday. She is also under the magical 40", so her rides are all tame anyways tomorrow!!! Oh my. I have butterflies!!

Can't wait until I'm as close to my trip as y'all are!! I hope you have a wonderful, magical time!!

This is what I did to surprise DS a few years ago

When he came down that morning for school, this is what he found.

The first time I surprised him I wrapped 3 Mickey Ear Helium Balloons in a giant box, attached was a note that said "Surprise! We are going to Disney World for your birthday!" (This was in 2009, the year of What Will You Celebrate? where the commercials kept having helium balloons with invitations showing up at people's houses...) He opened this present at his birthday party, 3 days before we left.

As for the airport, I have been in the waiting area and personally seen a parents surprise "ruined" by the boarding call. The airline employee kept talking about everyone going to see Mickey and the little kid (who was about 7) figured it out REAL quick. Mom kept insisting that they were flying down with Daddy on a business trip, but he wasn't buying it!
