2012 Almost Expiring Points Question

Hi Everyone,

We are finally considering a DVC purchase (resale) at Animal Kingdom Villas. The contract has 2012 points that expire at the end of September (October use year). If we are just barely starting the process, and don't close until late April, what are the chances we could use those points this summer in a one bedroom? We would be happy at any resort, but if the points are just going to be wasted, then they may not be worth it. I would love to hear the opinions of seasoned DVCer's.

If you want a 1 bedroom and are able to go in September, I THINK you will find on site one bedrooms available throughout the month of May. September is not a high use DVC time.

You're chances are pretty good at getting a 1 bedroom. Not sure if you'll be able to find a full week, but definitely early Sept. However, I would give them no value at all when making the offer.

Second half of August and most of September you should have 1 br options somewhere in WDW (SSR,OKW,AK).

You might even find something in June or July, just not around the 4th. One bedroom villas are usually the last to be booked.
