Just wanted to post to say that I am loving this thread!! We stayed at the YC in September over Labor Day weekend and it was wonderful!

We are booked in a lagoon/pool view room again for May 18-25 following our cruise. Can't wait!! After our weekend trip our girls asked that we schedule several resort days to enjoy SAB, so I am only planning 4 park days.

Okay, thanks Teena! Scratch the standard view!!;)

So excited to be finally booked at the Beach Club May 15 - 20!!:goodvibes

Garden view is usually less than $12 more per night. You may want to consider that. A garden view is a view of something "green". It can be a garden, courtyard or overgrown woods.

Walking down the walkway we saw those beautiful lamp posts all dressed in their Christmas finery and I knew I was on the right track. The first thing I noticed was a pack of wild dogs scratching at the back entrance trying to get in to the building. ;) I shooed them away and as soon as I entered the building I quickly realized what they were after. Hiding behind the gingerbread carousel was Teena, frantically pin trading in an effort to keep from getting near that door. Recognizing her from her pictures I told my family I wanted to go over and introduce myself before the dogs got to her. The further you walked into the lobby the more cloying that heavy gingerbread scent became.

It DID! I loved it when we first arrived but by day 3 the solarium was my pick for a few moments of quiet, non-Hansel & Gretel cottage scented relaxation when meeting up with our party for the busses, dinner reservations, etc.

I LOVE your trip report so far and the upgrade sounds fantastic. :cool1: Looking forward to more installments.

We did GV and by luck had nice view of the lake & BWI too with a mere 1/4 turn of the chair on the balcony. By the way, I had read more than a few posts about the state of dingy balconies and furniture but our full on the 2nd floor (the the other 2 in group next to us) were all in more than fine shape and very clean for, you know, being OUTDOORS 24 hours a day ;).

NM TR great report so far :thumbsup2. I agree with the new FP system. I don't like it at all! If you want to ride your fav ride, like TSMM more then once after rope drop using a FP, it's very difficult because you are in a different part of the park by then, and possibly in a different attraction. We ended up walking back to TSMM and wasting 20 min waiting for our FP time. Was so much easier just going back for FP when you could.

Congrats on that fabulous upgrade! :yay: we were lucky enough to get one too. Beware, once you stay CL it can get addictive. After our BC CL experience we booked our last August trip CL at AKL ;) we did a split stay, 6 night pool view and 6 nights CL.

I have another quick question, please!

Do the Club Level rooms at either resort have DVD players? How about the Deluxe CL rooms? (I see someone posted photos of their BC Deluxe room but I can't quite place if that's a DVD player under the TV or not.) I swore I read it somewhere but what I'm seeing now says that only the suites do.

Thanks!

Yes Dana. All CL rooms, including Deluxe rooms, should have DVD players. Also, the CL desk has an assortment of DVD's that you check out if you wish.

Thanks! The room details on the booking website mention the DVD loaners, so I thought it was odd that the DVD player itself wasn't noted in the amenities somewhere between the TV speaker in the bathroom and the ironing board. LOL

I thought I'd post some photos from my recent trip in case this helps anyone - I'm happy for anyone to use them (or delete) :goodvibes

I was in room 5629, a garden view club level room. The room was perfect, a short distance from the elevators and lounge (very happy for popping to the lounge to get food/drinks to take back to the room), and looked straight out the lakeside entrance, if you looked immediately left you saw Crescent Lake, just opposite/slightly left you saw a glimpse of Stormalong Bay. I was really happy with this room as I went with a garden view over a water view as I didn't want to look straight out at Stormalong Bay. It was in a small hallway with probably no more than 8 rooms so very little foot traffic, it was very quiet. The room had an interconnecting door, which I'm not usually keen on, and you could hear some noise from neighbours but a rolled up bath towel at the base of the door soon stopped that :goodvibes

Thanks for your report and the pictures. My stay in 2009 was room 5631 so I can second the great location!

Thanks for the tip about the connecting doors. That is definitely going into the mental database!

I haven't been on this thread in awhile. We are planning a trip in Sept. I have some questions I hope you can help me with. We are staying garden club level and wondering if there is one of the famous "606" rooms and do we still make all of our dinner reservations or does club level help you with that? Thank you for all your help. I hope all of you have a Merry Christmas!!!

:welcome: back!!!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest List for September.

:cool1:

I don't know the view classification of the 606 rooms, perhaps someone else here does. Although if you are staying club level, then are you wondering about 5606? Not sure this room exists.

As far as dinner reservations, yes, the IPO can help you with that. I prefer to make my own, even when staying club level, but that may be due to some itsy-bitsy control issues I have. ;)

Hi Beach Club experts! I am getting ready to switch our reservation to Beach Club for May!! YAY!!:cheer2::cool1::thumbsup2

I am going to request a standard room with balcony and daybed...as we have five in our family. Is there anyone out there that had an amazing standard view room and remembers it's number?

I know requests are never guaranteed but just thought I would ask for some input! Thanks so much!:goodvibes

I already have you added to the B.O.G. list, but I will remove the "maybe"

:woohoo:

Are all members of your traveling party over the age of 3? If so, you should have priority for a room with a daybed, although it isn't guaranteed. You may also receive a room with a rollaway bed.

I think the suggestion to book a garden view room for a few more dollars will be your best bet in getting a nicer view. Then your request should be "Full balcony, please".

I don't think you need to add the request for a daybed. What do others think of that?

party: WISHING A MAGICAL BIRTHDAY TO A VERY SPECIAL FRIEND!!! :bday:

Ninja Mom - Thank you for your wordiness! Great report. So lucky to be upgraded to CL, with 3 boys and a hubby in tow!

Glad you met Teena, and hopefully you saw her again, and not surrounded by the ginger-lovin' dogs.

Speaking of Teena! Happy Birthday! pixiedust::cheer2::cool1:

NinjaMom - Congratulations on the upgrade - you deserve it!

Teena - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!! Have a wonderful birthday/Christmas celebration with your special guests!!!

Dee - we finally booked our trip and the dates have changed a little bit.
We are at the GF - July 1-6 and believe it or not YC July 6-16. We started at YC and for some reason two of the kids wanted to go back and try YC again. Of course July is a long way away so who knows if we we will end up at BC or YC.

Since we are at the GF over 4th of July we booked a TPV room, right now we are booked in a gv room at YC but who knows if AP rates are good we'll be back in CL.

Hope everyone has a wonderful hoiday!!!!

Happy Birthday Teena, welcome to Florida Jeanne and Princess Lilly. Hope you all have a great weekend.

Happy Birthday Teena!!! Have a magical day with the little one and the bigger ones!!

~Nan

Happy Birthday Teena! Wishing you a very magical day filled with Pixie Dust!

NM, so glad you are filling us in on your trip! Can't wait to see pics of your room/view and of your lovely family enjoying your trip. :-)
