Do any of you have any suggestions for a quick supper in Epcot or around the resort area? My kids are 6 and 3 and I doubt they will be interested in a TS. We will likely be hungry and might would consider breaking down and eating a phone book due to our extreme hunger, but alas, they might not be available.

Unfortunately, we've learned today that DH will have to have surgery on his knee about three weeks before our trip in Nov and so I feel we probably won't be able to visit the pool and therefore, shouldn't participate in taking our turn with the Noodle Family. I've noticed there are two other Dis'ers who'll be there at the same time as we will be, so hopefully one of them can take over my assigned time.
We'll be at YC Nov 25- Dec 3.

I'm so sorry about dh's knee surgery and the effect it will have on SAB. Hopefully his healing will go better than expected and you do get the experience.

I'm at BC CL from Nov. 26- Dec. 3rd and could show the Noodles a good time. In fact I was planning to attempt some sort of kidnap situation one day with them if our paths crossed.

Well there's Beaches and Cream at the BC and don't forget about Hurricane Hannah's which is the burger joint at the pool. Are you sure you don't want to grab a burger at the pool and go for a swim after that long ride? I know it's December but the pool is heated so keep that in mind. As for Epcot, the Lotus Blossom Cafe China is a counter service Chinese food place. Do the girls like Chinese food? In American the Liberty Inn is a counter service with typical burgers, dogs, phonebooks and BBQ pork sandwiches. Then there is the fish and chips take out in England right across the bridge after the International Gate entrance.

There is also ESPN at the boardwalk. I've read recently that the food is good there but it would be a sit down place. I'm not sure what else is at the boardwalk. You can look up the menus for all these places on the All Ears site.

They have a food court type thing where Soarin is ... called Sunshine Seasons. It's a counter service/quick service. They have great chicken!!

What Teena said!!! Sunshine Seasons is our favorite CS in all of the World- so many different choices- salads, soups, grilled food like the chicken and a humongous pork chop with fresh side selections, Oriental selections. Something for everyone! And on the dining plan, you get to choose a dessert from the amazing bakery!

Another close-by selection that we found last year was the French bakery. Delicious sandwiches like ham and turkey on really fresh baguette, plus again, a selection from the amazing bakery items for dessert.

You can eat at these locations or take back to your room, but we have found that the EPCOT restaurants don't have bags to help you carry back your meals- we now bring our own supermarket bags if we know we are doing takeout from EPCOT. (One year we asked for a large shopping bag from the Soarin' gift shop to help us carry our food)

Honestly, we really really liked Hurricane Hannah's poolside. The burgers were huge. Fries were great. Loved it. One time I got the chicken salad as I didn't want to have such a big burger for lunch. It totally was delicious and hit the spot. Mmmmm....

This thread really pops! Work just keeps getting in the way of my ability to respond in a timely manner, but something has to support this Disney habit of mine!

I like all of the suggestions. I agree that Sunshine Seasons is great! I always forget about SS for dinner, but it is a regular go-to when we grab breakfast in the park, and by breakfast, I mean dessert breakfast. The chicken and pork chop sound great! Hurricane Hannah's is another great idea. The kids love any food that can qualify as junk food. I want to try ESPN Club as well at some point on the trip.

Dee, thanks so much for the tip on bags to go. With the kids, that just might be a great option for us on several evenings. You have the best tips!

Teena, I sure hope I have the honor of meeting you during our trip. I don't post all the time, but I read the thread consistently and you are an icon at the BC!

I have a couple questions about our upcoming stay at BCR CL. Are there lockers at SAB - and if so how much are they? Also, can you get wine at any time of day from the Club Level?

I know there are lockers at SAB but I do not know how much they cost....

~HOWEVER~ here's a thought. The health club/fitness center has lockers that are FREE! You just have to go into the men's or women's locker room and program your own combo. This health club thingy is right near Beaches and Cream, which is right near the pool.

The only catch is that you have to make sure that the Club will be open during the time you plan on using the lockers. The staff is very nice and helpful so feel free to ask them any questions, like "Do you have any phone books in the Health Club?".

I also showered in the Health Club after a sweaty day in the parks on the day we checked out. It was nice in the locker room and they had shower products and towels. All I did was pack a bag with clothes and essentials for a shower before the airport. It was nice to feel human again for the trip home.

Another thought is that if you have one of those situations with 5 people in the room and everybody wants to take showers at the same time consider sending the men in your room to the locker room at the Health Club (if it's open during that time). I don't know about you, but I could throw a Brillo pad at my two guys and tell them to hit the shower and they'd be none the wiser. With the assortment of shampoos, conditioners and body lotions that I saw in the ladies locker room the guys are bound to have something better than a Brillo pad.

"We are leaving for Disney next week!"
Ummmm...What?!
Kealan's face lights up and she's like...
"Brenna we're going to Disney next week!!!"
Can I tell you how much I wanted to kill him!!!
He tries to say"The Store, I meant to say the Disney Store"...

We will see tomorrow if they believe Daddy or if the surprise ruined

We just got notified at work by the phone book ad salesman that our phone book will be eliminated in a year!!! We do have two phone books here - the traditional phone book put out by the phone company and the other is what they call the "Talking Phone Book" - can't remember which is going away but I am sure the other will follow sometime in near future.

[BC/YC Pool Noodles]

You will never guess who we saw at the pool today!

It's that Teena lady that hangs out in the lobby and pesters people.... or is that the other way around? Anyway we saw her and her boyfriend out by the pool and they were the "Family of the day!" They got the real Royal treatment let me tell you!

While she was in the pool I overheard her talking about how somebody had put a phone book in her room. Now, personally speaking, I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer but this woman sounds like she is easily amused. From what I've heard she lives in the area so it's not like she doesn't have one at home already!

I figured that I better post this information so people would know she escaped from the Lobby.

Don't worry DM! I got back from our vacation on 8/18...so it took me awhile. Between coming back to work, and getting my kids ready for college (my daughter is a freshman this year- so lots of shopping and laundry), the Hurricane and aftermath, and then getting them to college, I just didn't get to it. Now I have to load more pics on photobucket (so far just pics from our first day are done) so I can post some here. Hopefully I'll get that done this week...haha!
