11 freaking days until I check into the BC for my 20th anniversary and DD's 10th (big one double digits now!) birthday trip!

Can the time just fly by please!!!!!!!

Jay

I have 2 days and I feel the same way! Ready to go..though not packed at all but mentally ready at least!

thanks, we are from the boston area too...
ok...now you guys are really going to hate me for all the questions and being so wishy washy....but as I said I no NOTHING about staying in park..

so here goes next question: after talking to my girl at AMEX, she told me that a Beach club Villa would cost me the same price as a CL room..:confused3
and not knowing anything...is this the same bulding? different....are they nice...oh boy....now have to re-think this...so thats where you all come in...:3dglasses

The villas are accomodations that have kitchens and allow you to prepare meals during your stay. I'm guessing that they are also roomier than the regular Beach Club rooms. As another poster has replied, they are in the building next to the Beach Club.

The club level rooms give you access to the concierge lounge, where there are food offerings and drinks throughout the day- continental breakfast, snacks like chips, cookies and pretzels in the afternoon, evening appetizers (hot and cold) and then cordials and desserts later in the evening.

If you check out the first page of this thread, you will find information about the Beach Club Villas and about Concierge Level. They each have their own sections in the intro page.

Hello everyone ^_^

My DH and I will be staying at the YC garden view/CL Oct.2 - Oct.8 :woohoo:

This will be our fist stay at the YC, and I was hoping that you nice folks could answer a few question.

I know from reading the thread (do much wonderful information here!) that king beds are few and far between and even though we requested one we we most likely wont get it. Does anyone know if the rooms have double queen beds?

I have a medical problem with my leg and end up moving quite a lot at night. A king bed is enough room for Dh and I, but a single queen bed most likely wouldn't be.

Thanks for any info!

It really depends on the villa size. I would choose CL over a studio but I'd choose a one bedroom villa over CL.

Hello! I have been following the beach club threads ... and Poly threads. I just switched our reservations for late October from the Poly to the Beach Club .... again. I had Ohanas reservations and Kona reservations at 180 days prior and everything. But the beach club looks so lovely, and my three boys will love love love Stormalong Bay, I'm sure. This will be our first ever Disney resort stay, the night before a cruise. And, it will be a non park day. Question ... where there can I get a Starbucks-like mocha in the morning? I see that the Marketplace may have it and Captain's Grille ... but is it Starbucks-like? Here's hoping I don't switch resorts yet again. The more I learn about the Beach Club, the more excited I get - pool parties and the Kitchen Sink and movies and smores on the beach!

Only 3 days until we leave! I suppose I should start packing, or at least making sure the laundry is caught up so I have something to pack. :rotfl:

I would like to take a couple of short (2 miles or so, if I can handle the heat and humidity) runs while we're there. Is there a map or something I can get? I should have asked IPO but didn't think of it until today. Thanks!

Another wonderful stay at BC/BCV. Had a chance to see the wonderful Teena for a short period, before she had to go on leave. Since it would not be a satisfactory visit without seeing Teena, I'm glad we had the short time with her and wish her a speedy recovery so she can visit Jeanne and Lily later this month. As always, our Club Level stay was terrific and we had a studio villa for part of the time for a little extra room. Both were great. Will post more details and new pics after we unpack, do laundry, etc.

Also, the noodle family kept us great company and was passed on to Maddog upon our departure. They were missing for a couple of days with several calls to Bell Services not turning them up. Finally I went down with a nice tip and they were found! Left a tip at the end too so they would safely make their way to Maddog.

Welcome back and thanks for the noodle update! I'll reserve my comments on Bell Services as I'm still smarting from my own experience.

As much as I am tempted to switch to BCV to get our own bedroom and more space, I want nothing to do with a kitchen on my holiday. LOL

I have added to you to the page one guest list :)

When the BC and YC were renovated a couple of years back (almost) all the doubles were replaced with Queen beds. I say almost because a few months later, a room was found with doubles- but I'm guessing that has been corrected.

So if you don't get one of the King rooms you should be all set with a Queen bed without making a request.

If you have an upcoming trip and want to appear on the Page 1 Guest List, please check to see if you are listed correctly.

If your details are missing, post here and we will add you on!

Nannette- there were a couple of new November posters this week- I am asking them to repost their info if they want to be added:

mk26, sukhakuli, jerryn2368, 98cptyphoonGuard, cinderumbrella

MickeyT - I removed hill6 from Sept- they are off to AKL.

Thanks!!!

Our info for the guest list:

Nov 22-27 YC split stay w/ the cabins

It's probably blasphemy, but I'm looking forward to the cabins a lot, too. My kids can be... um... loud, and having our own little private area where I won't have to worry about them disturbing other people will be very relaxing, lol. I also like having a kitchen area for instant oatmeal, simple meals, popcorn, etc. My kids are still young, and sitting in a restaurant is hard for them sometimes.

I have a questions about SAB, we will be there Thanksgiving-ish. I hadn't told dh about the pool yet (he politely rolls his eyes when I go on about the vacation, so he has very little knowledge about the YC aside from where it is), and when I showed him the pool area last night he seemed pretty excited about it. He wanted to know what temp the water is heated to.

I think it's going to be too chilly to really enjoy the pool area, right? I have been thinking about getting everyone little wetsuits. :) We have a pool in our yard, and the kids will swim even when it is way too cold for me! I'm a big baby. But if there is one thing the kids love to do it's swim! They are going to be sad if there isn't any pool time because it's too cold. Keep in mind we live in S Texas, so we're used to the heat. We haven't run our pool heater for months and it is never below 92 degrees. The youngest one is a true die-hard and nearly got hypothermia swimming in a lake at Glacier Nat'l Park when she was about 18 mo old. She'll be fine. But my oldest girl and I don't like cold water.

And I have some happy news! I was able to get the hard to get ADR's I was having trouble with! So we have Ohana and Hoop-Dee-Doo booked now! I need to get the Yachtsman booked, and Tony's, and I think that is it. I also need to book the kids in to the Neverland Club for dh and I's date night at the Cali Grill, but I think that is the very last thing! I got the Christmas party tickets in the mail, I got them booked for the Pirate Adventure. I think we're good to go! I'm very excited that I have been able to get all these fun things for my family to enjoy on our vacation. :D

As much as I am tempted to switch to BCV to get our own bedroom and more space, I want nothing to do with a kitchen on my holiday. LOL

I hear ya!!!!
I think I would love a 1 or 2 bedroom villa but looking at that kitchen everyday...No.Thank.You.

I guess I'm in the minority...I'd go for CL over BCV!!!

I agree 100% with you. CL over any villa ... even the grand villas!!! Different strokes for different folks.

A quick follow up question. When you say that they all have a Queen bed, do you mean that each room only has 1 queen bed? Or do they each have 2?

Thanks!

We love the one bedroom villas, often for just the two of us and we don't cook! It's just great to have the space. We use the refrigerator, the plates, utensils and dishwasher, but no cooking on vacation. :)
