So, I know that y'all have told me this before, but I can't remember what you said. I have mobility issues and will have a scooter for our trip. However, I would like to be able to walk to and from the pool and the CL lounge so I would ideally like to be near the elevators and the lounge. This is our anniversary trip so we'd like to request a king bed, but we don't care about balcony size or which parking lot/roof we see Knowing all that, what should I put on my room request in terms of location?

Chances of a King bed, even if your first request, are very low. I would think your first request would be close to lobby due to mobility issues. Don't check in on-line and make sure that when you do check in at reservations you get that room close to the elevator. That's my recommendation (for what it's worth).

We're home! Great trip! Great meals! Great rooms! This is what Disney memories are made of. Even had a wedding outside our room this morning to entertain us before we left. We were snapping pictures like we were family.

Welcome home, sorry your vacation had to end but when you get a chance I can't wait to hear a full report, even though it seems like we were getting it daily while you were there. I have to agree, it's fun to watch a wedding taking place in the gazebo, especially when it's not your daughter and you have to pay for it!

Teena we are so happy that everything went well. Please follow Dr's orders and rest. Princess Lilly is adorable and can't wait to see her Nana I'm sure.

Just got home. Surgery was a success. Back for x-rays on Friday to make sure nothing "bad" is left in the kidneys. Doctor said no work until 8/21 and I'll feel like a mack truck ran into me for a few days. Right now I feel no pain. If all goes according to plan (keeping fingers crossed) I'll make it to Jeanne's on 8/23!

Thanks so much for all the good wishes and prayers! You guys are the best!

Teena, glad to hear the surgery is over. As others have said, take care of yourself so you can get out to your girls at the end of the month!

Welcome back to the real world :(

I loved reading all about your trip as it was happening!

I tried my best to keep up with the Guest lists- best thing is probably for you to copy off what I currently have and then add in anyone who says I forgot them!!!

For Sept, I added hill6 and prettyjeepgirl and I think I am waiting on dates for Melsettle and LapuLapu4U.

December- I added cynth.

Feb 2012, I added krmlaw

Can someone add me to the list for October at the BC? We'll be there Oct. 5 - 9.

Done!

Good Morning all....please join me in celebrating my Single Digit Dance!!!!!! Woot woot!!!!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

It sounds like the location request is probably more important due to the mobility issues. The CL lounge is close to the elevators, so I would suggest you word your request like this:

Close to lounge/elevators due to mobility issues.

If possible, King bed preferred.

There are very few king beds available, but this is probably not a configuration that appeals to anyone other than couples, so I think it is worth mentioning. I'm not sure if there are any rooms that meet your needs, but hopefully you should at least get a room that will be conveniently located.

Need some help here and wondering if anyone knows the answer to this question. I have two teens and they seem to have trouble sharing the sofa to sleep . Has anyone requested a cot to be delivered to a 1 Bedroom Villa? Can BCV do this? Thanks in advance!

Word on the DIS is that cots are not available at DVC properties. We've never tried so I have no personal experience but I've read that quite often. Frankly when the sleep sofa is open, I'm not sure there would be enough floor space for a cot. Some people bring an aerobed or air mattress of some kind....again according to posts on the DIS.:rotfl:

Fantastic news, Teena. Now rest, rest , rest!

Great news Teena! Here's hoping you'll be back on the mend and ready for Jeanne's!! We will miss seeing you this week and are thinking of you. We're going to pop in and out to see (bug) Pete...haha.

Oh my goodness, another late night (like last year) before an early flight tomorrow headed for Orlando. I'll report back on our US/IOA and WDW adventures!

Miss you, hugs,
Kerry

Have a fantastic trip!!

MickeyT, welcome home. I too enjoyed your reports and photos.
:surfweb:

hill6, are you asking if we would stick with BCV or change to BC? If that's your question, it would depend on how many in your party and what size villa. If it's two and a studio, I'd stick with BCV. If more than two adults in a studio, I'd spring for the BC room. A studio would be great though for a family of 3 or 4 if the 3rd and 4th are small children or babies. I love having a freezer as small as it is as well as the couch and extra floor room during the day.

Robyn, glad your trip was so successful. Amazing upgrade. :cool1: Hope your DH's back is better.

Teena glad to hear surgery is over with and you seem to be doing well!
I hope you are able to make it to Jeannies as planned. But sad you won't be at BC when we're there 8/27 - 9/1 :sad1: Would have loved to meet!

We arrived in Ft. Lauderdale area a week ago, and the Pool Noodle hunt was on! 2 or 3 Walmarts, 1 Target and only the skinny pool noodles found :sad2:
And a sad selection, only a few. They're already getting rid of summer stuff, the sales people said, and bringing in Fall things. But it's Florida, and still summer :confused3

Then my spies informed me Voluptuous Noodles spotted in Lowes, I went in and felt I hit the jack pot of noodles! There they were, box loads of them :thumbsup2 Who knew? Lowes? wow!!! I'm now ready for SAB :goodvibes

I was also at WDW during Tropical Storm Fay and I couldn't believe all the rain during that 1 week. Now I guess we were lucky it did not turn into a Hurricane. However the frustrating part was the times when the rain would just stop and we thought the wrost was over, then maybe 20 minutes later it would start again.

I remember one morning we tried going to the Magic Kingdom because it didn't start to rain for a while, but when we got there it started coming down and to make things go faster they turned off the biometric finger scans at the entrance.

We were Fay survivors too  We were at Universal & SeaWorld. At Universal some rides require you put your purses in the lockers in front of the attraction, all operated by biometric Finger scans  No body could operate the lockers because everyones fingers were so waterlogged :rotfl:
We had water park tickets to Aquatica, and I thought we'd never use them, but fortunately, by the last few days of our vacay Fay finally left!
Lived in our ponchos!

I did see one guy crying particularly hard. :faint:Tough day.

I will try and do a summary of the trip when we get settled in.

Will get caught up. May be the weekend but I love this stuff :thumbsup2 !

Teena, so glad to hear the surgery went well! I hope you are getting lots of rest and things go well for you on Friday!:cutie:

We're starting to do our happy dance over here, just 38 days to go!!!!

I remember one week in October years and years ago. It was our annual WDW vacation. We ended up buying water shoes and lived in them ... did the parks in ponchos and water shoes and had a ball. The parks were not crowded ... guess people thought they would melt. It was thankfully nice and warm so we never got chilled. It was one of our best vacations. My family back then said "Any week at WDW is better than a week at work!!!" There was no lightning ... just rained the whole week. We even went to Typhoon Lagoon one day and there were two other families and us in the wave pool ... it was like we were royalty and had rented the whole place for us and our friends. We ran on any slide we wanted ... nobody was there. So much fun. We were so lucky it was just a rainy week with no thunderstorms!!!! I'm thinking of Jeanne as a young girl now running around in the rain in her bathing suit ... so excited ... couldn't decide which slide to go on next ... won't be long before it will be Lily there with us!

Teena, even though we have not yet met...I would like to wish you well...hoping to get to see you on our trip in sept...cant wait to stay in the BC...our 9th trip to Disney but 1st in park stay.....

Thanks Sheri ... beware though ... once you've enjoyed the benefits of staying in the park and (in my opinion) at the Y&B, you'll never go back to outside the park! Looking forward to meeting you!

Good morning Teena - hope the surgery went well. We jumped on the discounts when they came out last week but couldn't get BC discount to work with our Poly discount dates in November. We like to do a split stay, but no luck this year. We are having dinner at Cape May and will look for you. Stay well.

Keep trying ... I have no idea how they release rooms but so many people I know that try every morning and every night do eventually get where they want to go. Thanks for the good wishes!!!
