You might want to call. I found a deal for AKL and WL for my dates but when I checked the availability I was actually able to get it at the CR and BC too! It just wasn't published. Saved me over $1100 total when I was done.

Oh that would be sweet. We're in the October blackout for FD, but I would puffy heart a room discount code.

But we also saw some of the high Illuminations fireworks and we had an excellent view of the MK fireworks off to the left every night.

Same here when we were in room 3512 - the view during the day (straight out the balcony) was similar to what MM posted. We're fine with that - just prefer to avoid parking lot views. But looking up, we could see the Eifel tower in the distance, and this at night!!!

This was standard view in 2010, but I bet this is a garden view room now.

O
Hey MM, you sure you didn't 'zoom' in on that 'foliage'?? I know you are quite the photographer! :lmao:

Kerry

Shoot! You caught me! Darn!!! Here is the untouched photograph taken straight out of the camera with out any kind of photoshopping what so ever.

O
I have to 'dig' through my photos from my standard view last year. I recall Teena calling my view 'pebble beach'. I have to tell ya, for standard, the view was good. :thumbsup2

Kerry

So that's where the good views went! I'll take Pebble Beach any time over Jungle Cruise view.

Haha! We also paid for a garden view and got a woods view! My only request was a full balcony, but when I checked in I was assigned to a room with the juliet balcony. Fortunately they were able to find us another room with the full balcony. To be honest, it really didn't bother me. We felt like it gave us some privacy and the kids liked watching the squirrels play in the trees. We could also see some of the higher fireworks from Epcot. Here's the view from room 4596

I tried to capture some of the fireworks, but my camera doesn't really do it justice. We could see them a lot better than in the photo.

I really can't complain. We had a fantastic stay at the Beach Club! Thank you to everyone who contributes to this thread. It was very helpful in planning our trip.

Thank you so much everybody for the good wishes. The prescriptions Bob got filled for me are helping. The STRONG urge to have to use the bathroom constantly and nothing comes out is getting better with the meds. Still there but I think I'll be able to function and sleep now. I'm actually out of the bathroom so that's good news.

As far a garden view, the description I use is: anything that is showing woods, bushes, courtyards, gardens ... anything that isn't a roof, parking lot or a view of water. The the standard views are guaranteed to be a parking lot or a roof. Anything left over is a water view whether it shows a view of the lake or a pool. I hope that helps. Personally, I think they should change the name of the garden view to "not standard or water view" since woods in my personal opinion is not a garden.

I know lots of people actually do "enjoy" the view for more than five minutes here and there. In my case, I found (after wasting money in the past) that the minute I get into my room the first day, I go out on the balcony and do the whole "wow, isn't this a fantastic view" thing. Then the rest of the vacation I found I had the drapes closed because the only time I was in the room was to shower, change clothes or sleep. So I started booking the cheapest view and used the money I saved for either a super duper dinner somewhere or to buy a new Disney Dooney & Bourke bag or maybe a massage. Never ever in the 30 years I've been going to WDW did I ever sit on the balcony. But that's me and my family. Everybody is different. I'm just passing this experience along so that maybe others can really evaluate how much time you will be honestly enjoying the view that you are spending more money on ... you might find you are more like me and my family.

Just booked the Yacht Club in November. :cool1: We booked a garden view. We picked the Yacht Club over the Beach Club because we want a full balcony. Do I still need to request a full balcony at the Yacht Club or do they all have full balconies? If full balcony is guaranteed any other requests I should make?

Thanks. :)

Whoa. You paid ALOT extra for that Matthew M view I bet. And your initials are the same. Coincidence or fate?????

Pixarmom, thanks for the dining suggestions! That is going to be my biggest struggle, I can tell. I still remember my one unplanned day last trip, wandering aimless and frustrated around WS without an ADR. That will NOT be me this time!!! We are staying 10 nights, but the first will be a write off I imagine, and the last I figured we would do 'Ohana. I think I'll do a Fantasmic package because we didn't get to see it last time - probably Brown Derby. Also, we are traveling with cousins so it is a Grand Gathering so one nig it will be Tusker House for that. We lucked in to lunch there without an ADR last trip and my DH in particular really loved it. In was thinking of only having 5 total evening ADRs so that only leaves one more to pick! I don't think we are going to do any lunch ADRs because the plan is to do rope drop and get out of the parks just after lunch (QS) and come back to the beautiful BC for the afternoon. Why pay for Deluxe if you are going to just stay in the parks sunup to sundown, right? Who knows if we will be able to get the kid's back in the parks in the evenings? But I'm trying not to sweat it. Turns out I am super Type A about this. Imagine thinking about where I'm going to eat lunch and dinner 8 months from now!!! :rotfl2:

I was wondering does the Beach Club have the room safes which are open by choosing a 4 digit code of your choice like they have at the Contemporary or are they type which open into the wall with a key that is still being used at the Boardwalk Inn?

well spent 45 minutes on hold and then worked with a really nice person to get our vacation back down to what we could afford me. Bad news had to give up some time at BCV, just can't afford it but we will be there for part of the vacation.

Please make changes on noodle swamp ect to show these changes. I hated to change but after my week in the hospital and now a huge deductable there and 1000.00 in unexpected car repairs we had no choice. I feel like I am betraying my friends on this board but I had to save the trip some how so here is the change!

Dec. 12- 20 we will be at the French Quarter
Dec: 20-22 we will be at BCV for Joeseph's 13th birthday on the 21st

:guilty:

I can say that I find you useful on occasion. I would never have thought to ask for the Matthew Mcconaughey view without your advice.

I'm very excited to report that we are defintely staying at the YC CL in 8 months and 6 days! Definitely worth three bananas.:banana::banana:

We booked our flights a while ago and a room only reservation and then the wait began for some sort of discount. Well the free dining came out today and after nearly 2 hours on hold (and turning the phone over to my husband to make the reservation as I headed off to work - gasp!), I'm pleased to report that we got the YC CL with free dining. I'm so thrilled to be coming to the YC. I think the dark side will be perfect for us!

And now on to my next obsession - planning our ADRs (and mapping out our Epcot snacking and drinking plans!) :drinking1 (we need to get an emoticon that shows a GG slushie)

Can't wait!!! :banana::banana::banana:

Not only do they give you a detailed description of just exactly what is in a given drink, they compare prices with alcohol amounts for the true lushes/bargainistas.(right DEE?) :lmao:

They have info for Disney World, Disneyland, Universal, Sea World and Busch Gardens.
