Have any of the recent travelers used DME to get to the resort from the airport? I am just curious as to the drop off order and who it shares with. We are landing at MCO at 9:15am and hope we will be to the resort by 10:30am :wizard:

We got here on Tuesday and it was portorleans riverside, boardwalk, then beach club (sign at airport had yacht club too but no one was on for there).

They figured the order by which had the most riders. I was disappointed that riverside (a moderate) shared with the deluxe resorts AND got first drop off. You'd think Disney would cater to those paying more but it was a free ride!

:rotfl: Thanks for changing my name! :rotfl: I think my signature is just going to become a doctor-type scribble at the F&WF booths then!
:rotfl2: Glad you caught that name change. I like to change it up sometimes for fun. Just make sure you sign your KTTW card in that "doctor scribble"!

Hello everyone I’ve been lurking on this board (is it lurking if you subscribe – but don ‘t ever post ?) But I’m coming out of lurkdom because I’ve just paid in full our 8 night package at the Beach Club August 5-13– this means we’re really going!!!:cool1:

This board has been a fantastic source of information - so thanks to you all - and I hope to get a chance to thank Teena in person for all of her helpful insider advice while we’re there.

I also wanted to post that we will be in Florida for 4 days prior to our arrival at BC and plan to purchase several swim noodles , so we should have 2 or 3 to pass along on August 13th if anyone is interested.
BTW we live in France and over here swim noodles are called “frites”” which is the French word for French fries. :confused3

This will be my 3rd trip to the world after a 2 day stay off site at DAys Inn in 1976 (we drove down from Philly for 2 days, stayed in Florida 5 days and drove back over 2 days without any dvd players ipods gameboy DS - just those "guess and Know" invisible ink activity books -anyone remember those? -and it was still the best vacation of alll time) I finally made it back in 2009 when I took my 3 kids (14, 12 and 8 at the time) on my own because my French Disney-resistant husband had no interest (after all he had spent one day in MK and another in Epcot In 1987 so of couse he had already seen it and did't need to go back :rotfl2:)
The kids and I had such a great time we've been talking about it constantly since at the dinner table and we finally wore him down and BC here we come!! Altough I had to negotiate a day at Kennedy Space Center to appease him - small price to pay. I must say that SAB and being close to Epcot were big selling points!
Can't wait!
Awesome! Noodle called frites there. I guess I can see that...

I think the key word is "free" ;) like you said. And remember, they have to figure it most economically distance-wise/gas-wise. Most of the deluxes are on the "further" side of the airport. I'm kinda glad we're driving this time.

Great pre-trip report dizlizz.....And welcome.

Do they really call them French Fries ("frites!") in France?

We've always take DME when we fly. And accept it for what it is. We stopped at Port Orleans on the way in everytime. Still there within an hour to an hour and half from landing.

But I did get ill last year with a DME driver. Nice guy but he got lost between POR and BC. He drove through the front gate of EPCOT after we left POR. I'm thinking he knows a shortcut to BC...Cool. Then we drive back out the gate and back around toward POR. We go past a broken down car for a second time and I'm thinking hmmmm:rolleyes1: this guy doesn't know where he's going. No one else on the bus seems to notice. Well when he drove past EPCOT Blvd I tell the DW that we just missed our turn. The driver did a U-turn on Buena Vista Drive stopping traffic. We then stopped at BWI before YC/BC. Not a pleasant trip at all and if it had been my first it would have been my last.

I'm another long time lurker and decided to make my first post here. We are staying at the BC from July 4 - July 11! This is our first official stay there. We typically stay moderate, but DSis stayed there several years ago and added us on her res so we could use SAB. This has spoiled my kids for future visits, though. :lmao:

I am anxiously awaiting my ME tags, too. We booked 35 days out, so we should be getting them soon. :cool1:

I have a question for all of you BC/YC experts. We are arriving on the 4th and likely just relaxing at SAB that day. Will we be able to see the fireworks at DHS from somewhere in the Epcot resort area?

:welcome: Congrats on your trip! Wow 35 days! Yay!

Thanks for the support!!! I always start to get nervous at the one month point! Plus this is our first villa stay since buying DVC and they were able to get us into BC instead of our home resort AKV...so part of me is thinking it is too good to be true (despite the fact the reservation is all over my emails). Just anxious to get there ;)

I'm the same way! I always compare against last year & when I received them...When others that are going the same time as me get theirs...
Maybe I'll figure out how their system works...probably when I figure out how to get pins!!!
:rotfl:

Welcome Ichiban. Great place for your first post.

The fireworks at DHS are part of the Fantasmic show. These are done in an amphitheatre and most of the fireworks/lights are contained in there. Doubt if you can see much from Epcot resort area. (But you do know you can see a great deal of Illuminations from Epcot??? See page one of this thread on viewing info).

Does everyone at the BC get those h2oProducts, Aquatics line, fancy schmancy shampoos and conditioners or is it just the "special people" on club level that get them and the rest of us get the Hartz flea and tick line of body care products?

Signed, feeling a lil "itchy' in Marlton NJ

Well we did not stay at BC or YC. We were at BWV and we got the H2O products last week. We were not in a CL room.

The pictures that allears has on their websites of the normal rooms have the H2O products in them at both BC & YC. It appears that they are at the villas as well.

Thanks for the welcome Mike :). I saw the great viewing info for Illuminations at the beginning of the thread and I can't wait to be able to see parts of it from the hotel.

We are arriving on July 4 and DHS actually has a special fireworks display that night for the holiday, separate from Fantasmic. I don't really feel like dealing with the crowds in the parks that night and was wondering if we'd still be able to have a good view of them outside the park. :confused3

WOW....OK. Didn't know about these fireworks. That's why I love these boards. Your second post and I'm learning from you! :)

I too want to say thank you to everyone for their help and advice. I can't believe that my trip is almost here. :goodvibes

Let me add to what others have said, Welcome!

Epcot's WS fireworks are visible from the BC/YC but I've never seen the DHS show without going over to the area which is an easy walk if you are so inclined. With this being a special show, one would wonder if they will be doing more of the "high" explosions rather than the "low" which stay within the ampatheater. Either way, it wouldn't hurt to wander over to see what you can see. Have a great trip!

Well we did not stay at BC or TV. We were at BWV and we got the H2O products last week. We were not in a CL room.

Same thing here MM, we have't been lucky enough to stay CL yet but we have gotten the the same products in our room. By the way, what is the hidden closet stocking for their bathrooms?

When you return, please let us know what you were able to see!

How exciting!!!

I didn't see you listed on the page 1 Guest List- if you want to be added, please let me know your checkin and checkout dates. BC?

Well..... we are a bit budget minded with out sacrificing quality so we found a great deal on the internet for soap on a rope. With Fathers Day right around the corner it's a win,win situation for those last minute 'shoppers'.

Marlton Mom...I think all the deluxe resorts have the yummy Aquatics H2O products, in the past we've recieved face soap, bath soap, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion I've joked that we need to stay a few times a year so I can stock up! This was our first CL stay, and we also had mouthwash and solar relief gel. Those weren't replaced when I asked for extra toiletries, but I've got enough little shampoos and conditioners to shower for a month I think!:rotfl:

Here now! We are in the 3700 rooms and can see them working to the left of us, in fact workers just walked by dd on the roof haha! We got the full balcony but we only see roof and the top of the boardwalk.

I really hate when my phone thinks it knows what I am trying to type and changes words..... TV should have been YC..... UGHHH hopefully you all knew what I meant, because my phone sure did not.....
