2011 Weddings

I am new to these boards. My fiance found it and I have been hooked all weekend!

I am penciled in for an escape wedding at the wp for 12-17-11. Can someone tell me what penciled in means? Do I have it?

I went through this entire thread to see if anyone had my date! I am so nervous that I am not going to be able to get it!

There are so many good ideas on here and I plan on borrowing a few of them :)

Hi, welcome, and CONGRATS! :cheer2:

Being pencilled in does not mean you have your date guaranteed, just that your names are down for the date you want, and then when it comes time that you are eligible to sign your contract, you will go into a lottery for your date if there are other people who want your date/time/location. If nobody wants your date/time/location, there's no need for a lottery :). HTH!

Thank you! It does help. Bill told me to keep checking with him, that no one had it yet. We can not get the 10 am one but can get the noon time (I thought he said). I can't book until April and I am so nervous I am not going to do it.

Also, does anyone know how much disney costs for you to use an outside photographer? I just don't think we are getting the most bang for our buck with their photographers. And I am nervous about the quality from what I have read here. We are trying to get a MK shoot for the 18th.

You can only use Disney's photogs for in-park shoots. If you have other locations for your wedding, you can use your own photog at no extra charge.

We are postponing our original wedding plan of May 13th, 2011 - To probably October 2011...anybody else out there having a late October wedding? Any insight as to weather, etc... We have never been in October before! I will find out our new date sometime this week!

October is pretty good, it can still be very hot and it is still under hurricane season, but it tends to be way more doable than the summer months.
We have gone many times in October and we really like it, they also have all the Halloween decor out :thumbsup2

Ours is official as well! October 16th Mexican Riviara cruise aboard the Wonder

Starting our PJ on the other boards

Jen (31) :bride: & Derrick (31) :groom:

WooHoo! We leave for WDW in exactly 1 week :cool1:
So excited!

We were thinking the end of October...? I hope by then any storms would be "few and far between". We are thinking maybe a 5pm SBP ceremony...aren't storms normally in the afternoon, like 2ish? :confused3

Also, do all the halloween decorations take away from the regular Disney 'feel', or does it make it even funner? I love halloween, so I'm just hoping that it isn't too much Halloween that you can't see the neutral Disney...? We have some people going that are totally new to Disney and I hope they still get the whole Disney effect...?

We get married the last week of October! I've been before twice at this time of year and the weather was lovely. You won't lose any of the magic coz of the decorations. We will be watching Hallowishes the night of our wedding!

That is very helpful, thank you! :thumbsup2 In my mind I am envisioning beautiful weather, cool evenings? Thank you for your insight! :cool1:

I know what you mean. My wedding is 2 days after yours! Yey! It seemed like once 2011 started the days starting going by a lil bit faster.

Future Mrs. B are you on facebook? Would love to chat about our weddings and I can't really seem to get the hang of the disboards! lol Let me know!

We are leaving disney 10/30/2011 for our Disney Wedding on Castaway Cay and cannot wait! We are basically going to be counting down the days together!

Well ladies, I think its just really hit me...Im getting married in a little over 9 months! Its so exciting, but still very odd..and I feel like I dont have anything done! What all do you ladies have done that someone could be missing or not thinking of? Ive been so behind on reading PJs lately..mine lookin pretty pitiful right now too.. :rolleyes1 I promise..I'll work on it! lol

I cannot believe that as of Febuary 1st we are only 9 months away! I have been working with our travel agent, former Disbride herself!, and we have 10 rooms booked as of today for the Disney Dream! I believe by the end of this week we will be at 12! I am so glad to see my family and friends coming out for our wedding!

The next few things I will be doing:

February/March
Get passports done for family members, luckily my fiance and I already have ours from previous cruising:

The bags are pink as our wedding colors are pink/green...I am getting the Medium as I felt the small would be well to small and the medium I hear runs big! I am also going to get embroidery that says, "Lisa & Rob's Magical Disney Wedding" I am afraid to put the date, 11.1.11 in case they have to change course do to a storm or something!

March/April
Get the "six month celebration gifts" together...See on the first of the month, starting in June I will be sending little gifts to all booked cruises! Here is what I have together thus far:

A. A starfish ornament I am making out of a real starfish that will have a ribbon that says Lisa & Rob's Magical Disney Wedding on it!

B. A lottery ticket I found with a cruise ship on it that says Cruisin...

C. A gourmet cookie in the shape of a cruise ship sent to each home with a message stating, "Only_months until we cruise away on the Dream"

D. A disney gift card...

and I still have two more to think of!

I will need a dress fitting and will be doing that in April/May...

I am sooo excited, I have ideas for the welcome bags but will be working on that in the summer...

Hope all your planning is going well!!

Our wedding is only 6 months away and the only thing I have done is I got my dress, got booked with DFTW and booked the photog, videographer, and hair/makeup people. BUT, this weekend I'm getting together with my MOH to discuss more details, next weekend is bridesmaid dress shopping weekend, and the weekend after that is our planning session! And then in a month I'll probably start making invitations. Only 6 months out, and it still really has not hit me yet. :confused3
