2011 Rates Released-- THIS MORNING! ON-LINE!!!

I called AAA this morning was able to book my vacation on Feb, 2011. I got a package deal for one night at kidani with one day base ticket and Platinum plan for $945.00 and my sister who booked the same thing directly from Disney for $1023. The difference is $78

I called AAA to get a quote on a package. It was about a 800.00 dollars savings, but the agent didn't know if future discounts or promotions could be applied and was shocked to learn that disney offered 40% off last year. I don't think I have the patience to deal with a travel agent especially ones that don't have a clue.

I called back today and spoke to a different CM and everyone was right...I had been given misinformation on the 1st call. I was able to apply a AAA discount to my room-only reservation for February 2011 and saved $286. No need to wait until December like I was told!!!! Thanks to those who told me to call back and ask again. Oh how I love the DIS.

That's why I love the DIS as well!

It never hurts to give it a second go I've been there a couple of times where one cast member will say one thing on the phone and another cast member will say the complete opposite. Glad to hear that it worked out for you!!

Does online availability differ from what's available if you call?

I'm pricing out options starting the Weds. before MLK weekend and according to the online system, there are no standard rooms available at BC or YC. I thought perhaps they hadn't loaded them in the system yet but I did eventually find one for some other random date (I tried about 5 different random dates during different times of the year before I got a std. room to show up).

If a package is booked online, and then months down the road a CODE or PIN comes along...can it be added by phone? Online?

I booked our room only reservations a few weeks ago. I just went online to add package, and can't seem to see how to do it. Can anyone help me out? Do I have to call and have them do it for me?

Booked President's Week at the CR. Will apply AAA rate soon (have to re-up my membership! ) and see where that gets me. We'll see if it a better deal comes along. I distinctly recall the CMs I spoke with when I was going through this craziness last year telling me that I could call back and apply discounts, post-booking. In fact, one said, you are "encourage to do that." I just really wanted to stay at the Contemporary and the only way we can even reasonably afford it is if we do the garden wing!

If you booked a room only reservation, then you can not add a package to that. You have to cancel the room only and rebook as a package. Last I heard, they will not transfer the money you put down for the room to the package; you will have to put down the deposit for the package and they will reimburse what you paid for the room only.

However, if what you actually booked was a basic package, then you should be able to call and add the tickets and dining.

If you aren't sure what you actually booked, here's an easy way to tell:

If you paid a $200 deposit (exactly), you most likely booked a basic package.
If you paid more or less than $200 (exactly), the you booked a room only.
