2011 Planning - join me!

Put us down for 2011!!!

I think we've finally narrowed it down to February 5th through 12th!!!

This will be a first visit for me, our oldest son, and youngest daughter!

I don't even know where to start when it comes to planning, so I'm doing a lot of reading on this board!

Feb. 18 - March 6 ...Tentative...only because we might go during April break this year, but we'll be there in 2011 sometime for sure!

Well, as I have said before, we are going in August 2011 for my 40th Birthday and our 10th Anniversary. Well, we found out this week, my husband is being laid off as of April 9. I am still planning on going, will have to pinch alot of pennies

Count me in for 2011! First trip for all of us in the family...going in May 2011 celebrating both our girl's birthday!!!!

Family of five just had first trip December 2009. Had a great time overall - excellent food, weather and stay. We stayed at the All Star Family Suite (7 days/6 nights) and took advantage of the free basic dining plan promo. We upgraded to the Deluxe Dining and left very full. Saving towards a possible December 2011 trip in which we would like to upgrade to the Poly (7 day minimum - family likes MK and EPCOT the best) and stay on the Deluxe Dining Plan. Getting nervous hearing all of the speculation about the future of the Free Dining Plan. All three kids will be considered "Disney adults" next time around so the "eat and play free" for kids 3-9 saves our family nothing. The deluxe resort savings would have to be huge to come close to the free basic meal plan for family of five. Once again, willing to upgrade to Deluxe dining from the free basic but OOP meals would be a big hit on the budget. We like the idea of a TS for breakfast, snack for lunch, bottle of water/ice cream snack and Signature TS or 2TS Dinner

It is my understanding that we can reserve a December 2011 package 499 days prior (summer 2010); however, we won't have a clue as to the dining plan scenarios - considering 2010 dining plan offerings are still up in the air effective early April 2010.

Guess I am the "over-planner type," but seems like the reservation window will be opening right around the corner.

Any thoughts - Poly, Deluxe Dining, etc? I tend to obsess over these things being of the finance mind. Thanks

I think you can book one dining plan and change it closer to your arrival date. If you're not going until December 2011, your ADR date won't be until mid summer 2011 anyway.

I'm in!!!!!:cheer2:

We are going either the first or second week of June 2001. I think we have decided on AKL - club level for 7 nights!

Count me in. we have booked 2nd - 9th April POFQ then 9th - 23rd April in a Villa in Formosa Gardens. the first week it will be with my dd and my mum and dad, then the 2nd 2 weeks my sister, her husband and 2 kids will be joining us to celebrate my 40th party: . it is all booked and we are so excited :yay::banana: i can't believe i have missed this thread up to now.

Still so far away....I don't think the trip will seem real until we book!!!

Bouncing off the walls!

My DH and I knew we were going to be going back to WDW in 2011 and we were originally planning on going during our kids school spring break next year, but since it coincides with Easter (it does not usually) we opted against that. So we've decided instead on just pulling the kids from school. We have two time frames in mind and would love some feedback.

1) first week of May
2) first week of October

Thoughts on crowds, weather and such would be appreciated!! I really needed to pick a date so I get the savings plan rolling!

We've been the first week of May twice and loved it!! Great weather, I don't think we saw a drop of rain either time. 2nd trip was hotter than the 1st, but since we're at the pool every afternoon, didn't bother us. Crowds were very reasonable, we were able to do everything we wanted without waiting more than 15-20 minutes for anything (EXCEPT Princesses and Fairies - those were long waits). We find this time ideal and I wish we were going again that time next year, but won't work because of State of Ohio school testing that DS will have to do. We'll be going in early March. I have not been in early October, so I cannot compare, but we love early May!

We were there the first week of May 2008. For us (well my boys) it was too hot, mid to high 80's, but we had only about 10min of rain on 1 day of the trip. The parks weren't too bad crowdwise. My friends will be there that same week this year, I will update you when they get back as to weather/crowds:)
Happy planning,

Youve already added me to the list but just had to come back on and say it's exactly a year till we go to Disney World!!!!!!!

Im soooooooo excited :cheer2: :cool1:  :yay: :woohoo:

It will feel so good tomorrow to be able to say it's less than a year! Now to get down to some serious planning!

Oh wow there are so many of us planning for 2011.

Eeyore&Tiggs - How exciting to be less than a year away from your next Disney adventure. I can't wait to be in your shoes. I will be jumping outa my skin. :cool1:

I have been thinking about my trip all day and I decided to get into the garage and have a dig thru some old boxes and see if I could find some pics of me at Disney. I thought my kids would love seeing me riding Dumbo or chatting with Mickey.

I wasn't able to find my WDW or Disneyland pics but I did find some of me when I was 15 in Tokyo Disneyland. lolllll They are so funny heheheheheh:rotfl: I even found my Disney passport. Good thing I keep everything. lolll

I am going to pin them to my inspiration board.

Try not to laugh.

I'd like to join in too!!!! We are planning a trip for May 6-14, 2011 unless a better deal tempts us to switch our dates between now and then. I'm crossing my fingers for the kids stay, play, eat free promo this time next year. :thumbsup2

I started our Disney savings account up again yesterday. We depleted it for our Jan 2010 trip. $100 in the pot so far and only um.... well.... a couple thousand more to go! :scared1:

We've always stayed at CBR and will probably stay there again next trip. Unless Disney wants to give me a great code to stay deluxe for the first time. ;)
