2011 Free Dining is Extended! New dates as of 8/3

If you are currently booked with a room only discount and want to switch to free dining, you will have to turn your room only reservation into a package adding at least a 2 day ticket for everyone in your party. You cannot use a room discount AND a free dining discount at the same time. If you choose to switch to free dining, and there is availability at your resort for this promotion, you can pay the difference to upgrade it to the DxDP. Just keep in mind that you will be paying $90.90 for a Photopass voucher to make a photobook, so be sure to add that amount in your calculations to see which would give you the better rate.

It hasn't been in past promotions, but for the current FD promo, it is NOT optional. You must pay the $90.90. And it is ONLY for the book. If you want the CD, you will have to pay for it separately.

That's exactly what I want to hear I think it's going to be before the end of July - there have been several new posts about CM's dropping hints, expiry dates on PIN codes and general rumors that I just don't see Disney waiting til August....hopefully sooner than later, my nerves can't take much more!

Usually they're super friendly to TAs and will gossip, but this time? Nothing! I can't get anyone to talk. The only thing they'll say is that FD won't happen.

We were there in November and I upgraded my 1 day ticket to a 10 day because I had an AP? Maybe this was a CM's error but we only booked a one day ticket.

I don't know if it was luck, error or whatever, but there was a 2 day ticket requirement with the free dining promos last year. Just do a search on all the free dining threads from last year - all the AP holders were quite upset about the requirement going from a 1 day base ticket to 2 day base.

I have been reading CM comments all over the boards about "the end of July", "check the website in a few weeks" - I just hope something comes of it. I also have a hard time believing there will be no free dining, especially since the free dining PIN's have already started.

No, you are not eligible for free dining or any other Disney resort discount if you are renting points.

I think it would depend on your resort. I may be wrong, but from what I've seen, the Values get the QS, Moderates get Dining, and Deluxes and Villas get DD.

But up to 45 days before your check in you should be able to fine tune as you see fit.

It does not depend on your resort. The current free dining promo has the values resorts getting the Quick Service and the moderate and deluxe resorts getting the basic/plus dining plan. The Deluxe dining plan as never been offered at any resort, in any capacity, in any free dining promo. You can always upgrade to the deluxe plan during a free dining promo. In fact, Disney would prefer you to do this as you make them a lot more money.
