**2011** Epcot Food & Wine Festival HAS ENDED. 2012 Festival 9/28 - 11/11

What dates are you there? They're doing other wine dinners at FF that aren't "official" Food and Wine events. You might be able to do one of those!

Oct 6th - Domaine Serene

Oct 13th - Wines of Spain

Oct 20th - Wines of Chile

Oct 27th - Wines of Alsace- Sparr

Nov 4th - Markham Winery

I do remember that, thanks. We will be in WDW for the last one, but not that crazy about the winery. We have booked the Chef's Counter for another night that week. I like their wine list so we should have a nice dinner. Since our dinner is two nights before the "big" dinner, maybe they will practice on us! It is more fun to be at an official event though, where you can chat with the other people getting drunk at the table.

The phone lines are a freakin' mess!! Hung up on after 20 minutes. After another 90 minutes of waiting we did at least get the Discovery of Chocolate for 10/16.

I think we're cutting our loses at that single event for now unitl the phone system clears up a bit.

Thanks everyone for the answers

There will be separate charges on your card (my credit card was blocked in between 2 of the events because the multiple charges in quick succession threw up a flag at the bank)....

That happened to me once many years ago. Ever since then, I call the credit card company and give them a heads up that there will be many charges coming fast in the morning. (don't want any delay/problems in trying to get reservations:))

Links for booking seminars/demos, PFTS and Dessert Discovery online are now in the first post. Used the seminar one today to book a demo. It's easy to do, but it is probably a pain if you want to book more than one.

I think our agent was new, as she was rather slow and very picky about "following procedures". I made the mistake of answering "yes" when she asked if we would be staying on property... and then had to attempt to wait patiently as she looked for our reservation. Finally, after another 8 minutes ticked off the clock while she bumbled through trying to find the reservation, I asked that she just look for our events first because I was afraid something might sell out. She seemed confused as to why I was concerned about that!!! :confused3

I did the same mistake. Finally I told her it shouldn't matter what my reservation number was because I could book these without staying on property! She said it was just easier to get the name and address from the reservation record rather than type them all in again. When I pushed her, she agreed to type instead of hunt for my info.

Booking was a fiasco. My husband was on the line for 2 hours. He hung up thinking he had three events--French Regional Lunch, Mexican Tequila Lunch, and a Signature Dining Event. I look at our credit card 2 hours later and something is not right--there are only 2 events, and one of the charges isn't right. So I call Disney Dining. I unfortunately don't have the reservation numbers, but they say they can look it up by name. They search and only find one event, the French Regional Lunch. But it's only for 4 people (not the 5 we booked) and get this--one is a CHILD!! YOU CAN'T BRING CHILDREN TO A FRENCH REGIONAL LUNCH. Of course, the event is full so we can't add a person on.

I'm furious. Sorry to vent--just needed to vent somewhere. Of course, when I asked to speak to a supervisor, there is no supervisor. I've sent an email to guest communications, I doubt anything will come of that.

YOU CAN'T BRING CHILDREN TO A FRENCH REGIONAL LUNCH.

Yes, you can. Fortunately, as far as I remember, nobody ever has.

It doesn't matter, really. There's no difference between adult and child for the lunch. It's the same cost and you get the same stuff no matter what they put you down as (children wouldn't get the wine - but the fourth person really isn't a child, so they can pour them some wine). I know that doesn't help as you are still one person down.

Mine are all showing up online except the tequila lunch. I hope it's there but I'm not calling them right now.

Actually, my husband says he was told that the event was 21 and over only. Which is what makes it so ridiculous. That and the fact that we don't have kids, and the representative when I called back argued with me and told me I must have made a reservation for a child. Not exactly that "sparkling disney service".

Again, I apologize for venting. I'm just very frustrated.

None of the events are 21 and older only to my knowledge, except possibly the Vertical Wine Tasting.

This year, if you go onto the system to book the Mixology seminars, the system asks you how many adults and how many children. For booze seminars.

anyone know if the robert irvine lunch is still open? i didn't get up early this morning, and now i'm at work so i can't be on the phone on hold. hoping i get out at a decent time this evening and can call then. any guesses on my chances? for 2 people?

I guess I was a lucky one! I called right at 7 AM, got through without even hearing most of the recording (just "Welcome to Disney Dining. We're glad you called"). Wait of under 1 minute. And I got everything I wanted:

10/16 Discoveries in Chocolate
10/21 Robert Irvine
10/21 3D Discovery (with Sweet Seats since I'm going alone).

So excited!

TDCNala where online can you see reservation? Would like to double check mine. Thanks... Found it and all good, whew

I wasn't on the phone, but I could sort of hear the person talking in the background and they said stuff about over 21 years of age. Perhaps they just said that only persons over 21 years of age with valid ID could have the alcoholic beverages.

Can someone tell me what kinds of spirits they serve at the 3D Dessert Discovery. I like almost anything but I just want to start getting even more excited!

As for the credit card thing it totally depends on which cast member you get, because the computer makes them charge each event separately. The really good ones (like the one I got) will put your events in the "box" to save them, and then ask for your card number once and charge your credit card for each event. The others will ask for your credit card number each time you book an event. And some of the cast members will accept if you tell them you are aware of the policies. Others won't, because they're required to read them.

If you're asked for your resort reservation number when you're doing a time-sensitive multiple booking like this, say you don't have one - I like to say I'm staying at the Dolphin. One year I wasted a lot of time with the CM trying to find the resort reservation and add it to the first event I booked before moving on to the second one.

Thanks. This is good info to know for next year. I told the CM I dont have a room yet, because I don't. But I wouldn't have wanted to waste that time. Mine only took the card once for the first one. Either she bundled it or just kept applying it to the later ones. She did insist on adding my son's birthday which isn't remotely applicable here. But apparently she could do that while the system was pulling up the events, so no time wasted there.

Where did you find it? I can see my c/c purchase pending, but I would LOVE to view it somewhere to see. I booked the Dessert and Wine Pairing in Italy. It's not showing up in the "My Reservations" list.

Argh! Called at 7, got a wait time of 25 mins and just as the music stopped and I was getting through, my call was disconnected :headache:

The same thing happened to me!

Called just before 7 and was getting the "we're not open" message. Got through and was on hold for the full estimated wait of 25 minutes. Then out of nowhere, "The number you have dialed is not available. Click."

AUGHHH!! :scared1:

Kept getting all circuits busy on both the FEST & DINE lines. Finally got through for an additional 30 minutes wait. We did get the one thing we wanted: 3D Dessert with Sweet Seats on 11/11. :cloud9:

I was told a 7:45pm time, but asked about that since the park is open until 10pm instead of 9pm. She said the event is still at 7:45pm. Does that mean we get extra time at the event, or will they kick us out & we'll have to wander/fight the crowd until Illuminations at 10pm?

Hoping BFF really appreciates I was on the phone 7-8:20am this morning! :worship:

This is my first ever F&W festival so I'm mega excited lol - I also got the events I wanted so I'm even more hyped :woohoo: I'm doing the Italy food & wine pairing on 12 November and sweet sunday on 13 November. :yay:
