**2011** Epcot Food & Wine Festival HAS ENDED. 2012 Festival 9/28 - 11/11

I had to look up Buddy Valastro, his site looks delicious! Have you ever beento a Sweet Sunday? or a culinary demo?

You should definitely check out Cake Boss on TLC. I absolutely love Buddy. I keep saying I want to visit his bakery since it's only about 15 minutes from me...but I hear the line to get in is always enormous.

I normally just do the food booths, but if he were to be doing anything during the dates I'm there, I would do it just because of him.

Culinary Demonstrations are at 1:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m., and 5:00 p.m. daily.

Wine/Beverage Seminars are at 12:00 noon, 2:00 p.m., and 4:00 p.m. daily.

Mixology Seminars are at 6:00 p.m. daily.

That's all we need to know ahead for planning, right? :)

Nope... see below.... :rotfl:

And after last year's deminar, I need to know if the chef is going to shoot it and bring it along to cook!!!

:rotfl:

I have to know who is there because of the HORRIBLE squab we were served last year. I know I won't spend $ for a run-of-the-mill winery that I have had before or drink on a regular basis. I will spend money on a deminar that is resented by someone I really want to see or has a wine I am unfamiliar with that piques my curiosity.

I am planning to upgrade my ticket to an AP and get a TiW when we get to Disney in October. Do you think I can still book early at the discounted price, or will I need my AP/TiW in hand to book? :confused3

Thanks! :goodvibes

If it is like before (and we all know that this isn't a given!) you would need to have your AP or TiW number when you book.

 My skin still crawls at the thought that I ate the whole thing!! :crazy2:

:lmao:

(did you really mean "resented"?!!! :rotfl2:)

The announcement says they will need a valid TIW number. So I am assuming that unless you have the TIW card in your hand you will not be able to book the discount.

I've only ever done F&W at DCA so this will be my very first Epcot F&W. I have a question about Magicale. At 2010s DCA F&W I bought several bottles of this wine. Do they sell bottles of it at Epcot's as well? If so, will they ship it home for me? I know in some states shipping alcohol is illegal. Thanks so much!

Sorry if this has been asked before... I'm a little confused on whether or not there is a PFTS on the first Saturday. I'm hoping someone here can help clear this up...

There will be no PFTS on October 1 or October 29.

Thanks... I was afraid of that. Now to decide if I want to take a second trip just to attend a PFTS. I've been saying for years (at least 3-4 years) that I was going to do it next year. Every time next year comes... I decide to wait until next year.

Shoot! Our card expired recently, and we are planning to renew when we get down there.....So, sounds like we need to renew before we start booking special events, right? And does TIW work for PFTS?? Thanks!

Do not know if Magicale will be for sale at the Festival Center or not this year but I do know that Disney will not ship any wines to anywhere.

TIW does not work for PFTS. By that I think you mean for a discount? The only discounts offered this year for TIW memebers are for the pre-booking of seminars and demonstrations Mon-Thurs at the Festival Center.

Just got an email about the TIW discounts. Looks like TIW holders will be able to advance purchase tickets to certain Mon-Thu. events (mixology, culinary demos & wine demos) starting 8/12 via the 407-WDW-FEST line. Still no info on the actual schedule of deminars. It does say the info. will be available at disneyworld.com/foodand wine. No date though. I'm guessing 8/12 at 12:01 a.m.! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a Thu. or Mon. Buddy Valastro demo so I can skip the pricey Sweet Sundays.

Just got my email also. :goodvibes

Got my email too! I'm relieved that we can get the deminars out of the way several days before we call in for the paid events!

I just read the TIW email as well. It makes me just a tiny bit anxious not knowing who will be presenting the Mixology, Culinary and Wine Seminars. I cannot book if I don't have the specifics. Unfortunately, I also won't be able to call right at 9 am since I am at work when the phones open. I will just have to keep my fingers crossed that the seminars I'm interested in won't fill up. :wizard:

OK, like normal, I haven't gotten a TiW e-mail! Would someone be willing to forward it to me? PM for my e-mail - thanks, all!

I haven't seen or heard anything about a DVC discount.

That's an awesome site to illustrate the culinary demonstrations! Thanks. I personally enjoy those, if it's a chef I really want to see and don't mind the ticket charge. It beats standing in line for 45 minutes.

Now the wine seminars, imho, are absurd because 1) they are grocery store wines and 2) you can purchase a whole bottle for what they are charging for 3 sips.

I just called DVC Member Services to see if they had any inside information about finding the deminar schedule, and was directed to the website, and also to call the main festival line to book, even though the DVC site states to call MS.

SHOCKER!

If you call the festival number they have the list of demonstrators for the "deminars." I spoke with a terrific person who read me two weeks worth. Not the ideal situation, but...... I don't understand why they're not making the list available. Also I was told you must call to book on the 12th. Not available on line.
