**2011** Epcot Food & Wine Festival HAS ENDED. 2012 Festival 9/28 - 11/11

OK so does anyone have any additional info for the Via Napoli Food & Beer pairing? Can't quite read the pic as my eye sight is shocking today lol!

Also, from experience of the Food and Wine pairings, what do you usually get in terms of compared to a normal meal? We are doing Via Napoli with friends and are trying to work out whether this would be a viable option or not really but having never been to any of the Food & Drink pairings before I'm really not sure?

I think it reads (not 100% confident about the price):
A representative will be present to discuss the pairing of pizzas and regional Italian beers.
where: Via Napoli
when: tuesdays 2pm-4pm
price $50 per person plus tax, gratuity included, Epcot admission required

I did the Japan pairing last year and it was 3 pours of sake, each pour paired with 2 samples, and each sample roughly equivalent to 2 pieces of sushi. I counted it as a light meal, but I did also grab a bread pudding at the booths afterwards.

Are the F&W booklets out now? Just curious since we haven't yet received ours. :confused3

We've never been to F&W so I'm not sure how everything works. I saw over on AllEars that the Cake Boss will be there hosting 2 events on 10/8 & 10/9. My DS is flipping out wanting to go, don't know if we can swing it with our NYE trip already booked. But if I can work it out how do those events work? Is that something I would get reservations for on 8/16? I assume there is a seperate charge for each event? Also I'm assuming that they would allow my 13 yr DS to attend? Any help would be much appreciated :cutie:.

Depends on the events he's hosting.

If it's the Sweet Sunday, you would call 407-WDW-FEST (this really is the same phone line as 407-WDW-DINE, you are not calling any special festival-dedicated call center or anything) on August 16 at 7 AM eastern. This is pretty much what you have to do to have a shot at getting into most of the events. If you're going to plan a trip just to go to an event, make sure you get in before you book anything else.

Remember that the Food & Wine Events are noncancellable and nonrefundable. So make sure you can get the airfare and room if you need them, and won't end up with tickets and no way to get there.

Children are not prohibited at events, although they are not recommended for young kids. A teenager who has an interest in things culinary should be OK. But there will be no reduction in price on events where alcoholic beverages are included for guests who are too young to drink them.

If your favorite celebrity is going to be doing one of the Festival Center seminars, you sign up for those separately, and online. There will be a website where you can do so when they become available for booking. These are OK for kids. Once again, though, no reduction in price for guests under drinking age.

Thanks to DisYoda for the posting! Looks like planning can now begin. :)

It says that he is hosting a Culinary Demo on 10/8 and a Sweet Sunday event on 10/9. Do you need to reserve a spot for the Culinary Demo also? I'm actually sitting here trying to see if we can just cancel our NYE trip and do this instead. I'd have to re-do all my ADR's and I got Le Cellier on NYE!! Oh well, the things we'll do for our kids! We wouldn't mind paying full price for him, maybe me and DH can get his drinks ;). Thanks so much for your help! I'm a total newbie at doing F&W.

Reservations for both the special events (like Sweet Sundays) and the Culinary Demos will go on sale August 16th. I wouldn't be surprised to see Buddy's demo sell out really quickly. The culinary demos will be priced at $11 and $13 (I'd expect to see this one at $13).

The booklet Dis_Yoda posted is the one we received last night at the Tables In Wonderland Sneak Preview Event.

A couple of notes from last night that I don't remember seeing mentioned on this thread:

On Friday and Saturday nights, Epcot's regular hours will be extended to 10pm. That's one of the reasons there is a later time (7:30pm) on the PFTS. It also allows one to catch either of the first 2 concerts if attending PFTS.

The TiW $2 discount on deminars will only be available for Mon-Thurs sessions. The discounted price will not be available via online booking; you have to call in the purchase.
There was no mention of AP or DVC discount, but that's probably because the audience was all TiW members.

Marshwiggle, the info you posted for the Italy Food & Beer Pairing is correct right down to the price.

Seriously? We will have to call in to get the TIW discounted Deminars? If that's the case, I'll book online and pay the full price! ;)

Unless you have unlimited long distance on your cell phone, the charges for the call negate the TIW savings!

 I do have unlimited long distance with my calling plan - but my time is worth more than a $2 discount!! :rotfl:

I will have to call in because we want the special seating for the 3D Desserts thing.

2 questions:

1) Is that and PFTS special seating the ONLY events you need to call in for? Can the rest be booked online?

2) For those who attended the Desserts event last year...did you get a souvenir glass or something? How did they serve the liquor? Was it pre-poured or did you bring your glass up like at PFTS?

There were no souvenir wine glasses given away at the Dessert Discovery and they poured the booze for you. I really can't remember if you carried a glass or you got one at each service - but I know they don't give you one to take home. The event focused on cordials more than wines.

The only glasses they gave out were the cardboard light-diffusing ones for watching Illuminations.

It's always been that you call for special event booking. It has never been done online. Everything listed on the booklet that has been posted, you have to call for.

They do book the demonstrations and the seminars online. In the past you never called for those - you had to do them online. They appear to be deviating this year as it's been revealed you will have to call if you want the TIW discounted tickets for the seminars.

I took as it as the demos/seminars were the only things you can book online - as in the same things you could last year. The other special events needing to be called in.

When I went to the dessert thing last year, they have glasses there at each table the liquor was served at.
