**2011** Epcot Food & Wine Festival HAS ENDED. 2012 Festival 9/28 - 11/11

I'll be there four weekends and the chocolate thing isn't held during any of them. I wasn't considering going though. I'll be there on November 6 but it is a departure day.

Where did you find info about the Chocolate Event dates? I'm not going until November and was hoping there might one while I'm there.

That had me boggled too for a while, but it's buried in the middle of the article linked above (kabuki). Dates are 10/9, 10/16 and 11/6.

Thanks, I'll have to check out the article when I get home since I can't access Deb's site from work. Looks like I should be able to attend the one on 11/06 though. Hopefully we will get more detailed info soon since the preview event is this weekend.

Andrea will be at the festival the first weekend in November. No idea which events she will be doing, but for those that are fans, at least you know when she will be there.

Hmm, I'm planning on flying down on 10/17 (Monday.) Do I change my flight in hopes I can get the 10/16 chocolate event? And if I do will it be "white" chocolate, which I consider an oxymoron?

Yeah... I agree wishful thinking.

I mean hardly anyone plans a month out and is still able to get a room or dinner reservations....

Of course I suffer from being a control freak and I want everything planned too much but oh well, it is me. :scared1:

Really.

Booked a room late June Added dining yesterday

Trip is August 7th

And for me this is advance planning :rotfl:

Brandi, even with my 2 F&W trips this year, I am missing the Discovery of Chocolate. :sad1: (darn!)

I know this is just wishful thinking, but if they could only announce the events and dates 6 or 7 months in advance so we could build our trips around the events we want to do! (like I said, wishful thinking! :rotfl:)

For me it's even worse, I want everything planned out as far in advance as possible. I always book WDW accommodations at 11 months!

I have my WDW trips mapped out thru F&W 2013! :rotfl2:

However DLR, I try to be much more spontaneous.

That's awesome! Any way to zoom in on any of those shots or make them larger? It looked like Kouzzina had numerous dinner while we are there other than the Oct 30, I would love to see those date in detail!

Pics from the slide presentation; new event information (dates, costs, locations) -- Vertical Wine Tasting, Bocuse Dinner, Italy beer and pizza and dessert and wine pairings, etc; and pics of the new food menu items at the Hawaii, Portugal, Scandinavia, and Caribbean booths are now posted at Disney Food Blog

2011 Epcot Food and Wine Festival Preview Dinner Details

Looks like Spain, Puerto Rico, and Chile have been booted from the World Showcase Marketplaces this year. Too bad -- I'll miss that Medianoche sandwich at Pureto Rico!!

Ugh, that soup+sandwich combo was our favorite thing at the booths last year.

It looks it's a whole week of Kouzzina: 10/25-10/29 8pm $155, 10/30 11am $125.

Why did they squeeze Brown Derby, Jiko and CA Grill the Sequel into 1 night during that Kouzzina week?

Thanks so much for posting, I really like the look of the Yachtsman lunch and the mexico tequilla lunch :yay:

Is it just me or have the costs of events risen quite a bit this year? I guess I better start saving those extra $100 dollar bills I have laying around the house. :rotfl2:

There are some special events that still seem like a good value for the money, like, like, like, oh forget it.

I was thinking the same thing! Not sure yet if we want to pay 145.00 + 115.00 p.p. for PFTS and WVL :(

The impression I got with Kouzzina is that it's the same dinner offered on 5 nights since they are offering it in the small-capacity CoraNation Room. Sunday is a separate lunch.

I was very surprised that the First Bites reception is priced so high. It really wasn't worth it last year and I wouldn't price it higher than a PFTS.

We're F&W novices with only a few years' experience and expect a healthy markup for the privilege of being at WDW, so I'm not sure why I still felt some sticker shock.

A few events' prices did stay the same or even drop this year; the biggest jump was the WVL add-on itself at 28% over 2010's but that mainly widened the spread from the regular PftS - the total cost for WVL "only" went up 16%. (And yes I'm a dork and compared all the prices to 2010's.)

A few questions that also popped in my mind:
Tequila Tasting: will that still include apps now that la Cava has cut down that menu?
If we're following the no-possessives branding, shouldn't the 3D event be named Disney Dessert Discovery?

BTW, thanks Dis_Yoda for posting the pics of the preview booklet.
