2011 Dining Plan Pricing

I just hung up from a CM and this is what she told me about DxDDP. She said that the DxDDP for adults was just a penny or two shy of $70/person/day, and $20/child/day with 18% tax.

I explained that - since we were going with a group and all of the fees were paid with one card - we needed to know how much it was per person and per child so that we could reimburse the person whose card it was on.

That seemed a couple of dollars lower than last year, but she swore it was correct.

I just tried a non-scientific way to do it -I priced out a night with Deluxe Dining and a night without DDP at all. Came out to 78.99 difference for one adult.

That's what I did as well - which I how I worked out that the link wasn't showing 2011 prices.

Okay, from that link someone posted on the other thread re: 2011 prices and that Disney food blogs link:

2011 Dining Plan Prices from disneyworld.com

Plus Dining Plan

Value and Regular Season
$45.99/adult (2010 was $41.99)
$11.99/child (no change)

Peak Season
$47.99/adult (2010 was $46.99)
$12.99/child (no change)

Quick Service Plan

Value, Regular and Peak Season
$34.99/adult (2010 was $31.99)
$11.99/child (2010 was 10.99)

-------------------------------
However, these are the prices posted from our very own FAQ re: 2010 DP/QSDP/DxDP sticky at the top of this board:

Cost
Regular dining plan Peak Season

February 12 – April 10, 2010
June 4 – August 14, 2010
December 17 – 31, 2010
$47.99 per guest 10 and older and
$12.99 per child 3-9 years old

Regular dining plan Regular Season
$41.99 per guest 10 and older and
$11.99 per child 3-9 years old

Cost
Quick Service Dining Plan:

$31.99 per guest 10 and older
$9.99 per child 3-9 years old

Why does the food blogs one show that peak season DDP was $46.99 in 2010 and for 2011 will be $47.99 when our sticky on the DIS shows that it was $47.99 in 2010? Also, the food blogs one shows that QSDP for 2010 was $10.99 for kids (will be $11.99 in 2011), but our sticky shows $9.99 for kids in 2010?

My point is that there still is some discrepancy. I'm sure this will all be sorted out in the next couple of days.

My bad. I only looked at the deluxe link. It did not mention prices were for 2010. Not sure why you would have a write up for 2011 with links for 2010.

If you look in the comments section they now have an outline of 2010 vs 2011 prices. Also if you click on the individual plan link and scroll to the bottom then there are links to the 2010 and 2011 dining brochures so that you can see the plans side by side. Hope that helps.

Okay, I didn't 'do' child pricing, but I did a dummy vacation for myself in Value Season and came up with:
QSDP = $36.99 per night
DDP = $45.99 per night
DxDDP = $78.99 per night

All of the numbers look pretty legit, but the deluxe plan was definately $46.99 per adult per night in 2010 (and not $47.99) and the childrens quick service was definately $9.99 per child per night in 2010 (and not $10.99.)

I had one CM actually tell me that Disney does not annouce pricing for dining plan or provide a cost per person. They want us to just book the package and accept it or not. She said the dining plan prices are never made public. I am always polite to CMs who are clueless, but I did tell this one she had no idea what she was talking about.

I don't like the price increase, but I also don't think it's that bad. I could see us spending more than $45.99 a day on food if paying OOP if you plan on doing TS meals. Once we did TS meals in 2008 I don't know that I could go without them. They are a nice break in the day and most places have good food. All in all I don't think that increase is unreasonable.

just called, and they said that the prices were released today...I asked oh great, what are they? and was told, oh, i can only book it all as a package and can't give you the prices:confused3 weird

Sounds like the release for 2011 information has been very poorly planned on their part. ;)

See quote above for prices :thumbsup2

Deluxe prices went up $7 per adult/night and $1 per child/night, almost a 10% increase.

For a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids under 10) = $16 more per night; cost for DxDP is over $200/night.

For our 8-niight trip, if we were to do it again next year, it would be $128 more (not including the hotel and ticket increase).

Having called many times, I would have to say she was telling you the official Disney policy. Seriously, I have called several times to price things out over the last year and a half and they absolutely WILL NOT tell me the price of the dining plan. The closest they will come if I press the point is that "it's less than $42 per night per adult" (when it was $41.99). I'm talking about 8-10 different CMs whom I reached by calling different numbers over the last 18 months.

These are what I figured out as:

DDP:
Reg Dining Season:
$45.99/adult (2010 was $41.99)
$11.99/child (no change)

Peak Season Dining:
$47.99/adult (2010 was $46.99)
$12.99/child (no change)

QSDP:
All Seasons
$34.99/adult (2010 was $31.99)
$11.99/child (2010 was 10.99)

DxDP:
All Seasons
$78.99/adult (2010 was $71.99)
$21.99/child (2010 was $20.99)

Is my math wrong?

yes, that is exactly what she told me! and I politely told her the same thing you did! Silly Cm's shuld just DIS more often:rotfl:

Is my math wrong?
Looks right to me. As I said, I only worked out adult pricing for non-peak pricing, but your other prices make sense relative to those.

No, wait - I'm still getting $36.99 for the adult QSDP. Check my math? I'm doing it on paper, so I could easily be wrong :guilty:
Five nights, no dining is $733.81. Five nights with the QSDP is $908.76.
$908.76 - $733.81 = $174.95
$174.94 divided by 5 = $36.99

They won't give you pricing. They won't separate the price of the dining plan from the general price of the package. Only DVC does that, since DVC members don't book packages. It usually takes some math to figure out the price of the dining plan, because Disney won't break it down for you.

You can get a package quote with the dining plan and without the dining plan, but even if you ask they won't tell you the exact individual price of the dining plan.
