Well, I personally love scheduled c-sections. I'm a planner. Will this hopefully mean you may, just MAYbe there when I'm there 8/22-30??? Wishful thinking? :woohoo:

QUOTE]

I'll be flying out on August 23rd again to help her so I will be there on 8/22.

I was wondering when it comes to the Lagoon View Club Level rooms at the Beach Club, is there any "bad" ones when it comes to it's location and is the view going to be basically the same no matter which one we get?

Some look over SAB and the lake, some the courtyard and the lake. I personally prefer the courtyard and the lake.

Hey Ms. Teena,

I have some friends who are down this week and staying at the Boardwalk. They usually pop over to Cape May once or twice a trip so I asked them to say hello if they happen to see you in the lobby.

I told them you were easy to spot. Just look for a young Sophia Loren with a permanent smile on her face ;)

I swear, I cannot go away for a few days! Nice way to spend a Monday morning, though, catching up on the thread :thumbsup2

Maybe I could stow away in Janetmom and Marlton Mom's housekeeping closet until July 25. Sounds like they will have oatmeal, chips and dip, Kahlua and internet access. I'll bring the coffee maker!

Now THAT is a TR I would love to read!:lmao:

Heather, thanks for sharing this with us - your family and friends are in our thoughts and prayers.

Agreed. We drove through one of the tornadic cells SW of Charlottesville, VA on Saturday and it was one of the most frightening things I've ever experienced. At least we are seeing how communities come together to help each other when mother nature is in a foul mood.

1. BC/YC IPO will make all your dining reservations. Also if you want to do
anything like an Illuminations cruise, spa treatments, kids pirate cruises
they will make those reservations for you.HTH!

I have to say this was the single most important aspect of booking CL for me. Then again, I'm lazy.... but it's so much less stressful to give a list of what you want to someone, and then just wait for the confirmation email!:goodvibes

Illuminations cruise? need to look that up. I had wanted to make it a family trip and do a dessert party but ILs went on a Disney cruise for Spring Break and will not come with us. This might be another treat. Course I could just order a special cake to have at dinner one night.

The cruises can be a bit expensive, but if you are willing to share, there are threads on the boards of people who will split a cruise with other groups. Might help. I say go for the cake, everyone loves dessert!

Well, doesn't that "stink" that you get an upgrade you don't want! :lmao: But it's better than a downgrade that I received at the WL! I booked woods view and received parking lot and roof top. I actually had to "lightly argue" with the front desk to convince them this was NOT a woods view. I was then upgrade to water view (villa pool). Nice beautiful resort, but it ain't no YC. :sad2:

Amen to that! I had the same thing happen at WL years ago. I have to say that I actually preferred the little camper / villas area over there to the lodge itself, all in all.

Port Orleans is perhaps my favorite Moderate though.... we'll see what I think after our YC stay, which I am SUPER excited for!:cool1:

We went to Victoria's and Albert's for our anniversary dinner and it was amazing and romantic and extremly pampering. I would suggest it if you have never been. If you guys are foodies you can request the chefs table, they seat you in the kitchen privAte dinning room and the chef explains everything to you.

We almost booked chef's table, but I felt like it wasn't going to be "romantic" enough... whatever that means w/ my DH and I. :lmao:

We are trying the Queen Victoria room this trip, howver, so that should be fun!

Does anybody know if the doors between adjoining rooms are magnetic, as in steel doors? I was planning on going to the dollar store and getting one of those dry erase markers and boards and put it in between the doors of my adjoining room with my sister when we are at the Beach Club.

Her husband thinks we should just text each other which would work fine if were in just 2 separate groups but I don't fancy texting all the separate phones (6 total!) with instructions should we be all over that place like I know we will.

I'm thinking the board on the door will get the job done when we connect back at the hotel and just need to let each other know if we are napping and do not disturb or if someone is at the pool and is waiting for us there.

Any way you get the idea.

So are they steel/magnetic or do I need to invent wooden magnets?

Marlton Mom

Hey MM, you know you only have to text once, right? You just put in multiple reciepitents to the text. Or are you saying you just don't want to have 6 texting conversations when they all text you back?

Thats it exactly. 1 text has the potential to spawn 6 replies which would then necessatate ...... You get the idea!

I cannot speak to the nature of the doors themselves, but do you think you could find an "over the door" hook hanging type device if they are not magnetized? Perhaps w/ a whiteboard attached, as you earlier stated?

Not sure if that would work on disney doors, but we used to do it years ago back in college! (before anyone was texting, mind you, you were super cool back then if you had a pager! :lmao:)

I am so happy everyone is safe from the tornados and wild weasther. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone there.

I can't believe I miss 2 days and I have to spend about an hour reading everything...we are on fire!

35 years! WOW! Congrats. DH & I are celebrating 9 years the 2nd day we are at YC.

I have a question on IPO's. Am I suppose to call them and make request or do I call Disney directly. I had sent an email about Fantasmic dinner but they said it wasn't available. They don't even have dates on Disney website for September when I tried to do it myself...So is it sold out or just not booking yet??? Really confusing...

We have never stayed CL and we are only staying CL because of everything going on. Should I call and talk to them directly about questions I have? Should I email them? I usually write a cute little poem for the room assigner should I still send it to the resort or should I send it to the IPO's email?

I've also read that they are suppose to greet you in the lobby when getting off DME...What if they are not there? I have read of that happening. Do I go to the front desk and tell them someone needs to come down?
Thanks...I am bummed I am going to miss the mini meet, you all sound so nice and a fun group of people.

Lots of awesome info for Beach Club, but is there a page/thread anywhere that has a "LITTLE KNOWN FACTS" about the Beach Club and/or Beach Club Villas?

The thread isn't a thread but it does have a name, 'it' can only sometimes be found on the web, and 'it' REALLY likes Tastykakes.....
Drum roll please....
Our secret weapon in the fight to find out all things Beach Club is TEENA!

Other than that I haven't found anything on the web that's as good as her.

Oh well no doubts there!! I met her for the first time on our last trip down ( 2010 ) as I had always only met Art at the time, and she was FAN-TAS-TIC. But as much as she likes to talk BC, I wouldn't want to bother her and have her list all the little known facts she knows lol :) ...

We have stayed at POR twice (once in the mansions and once in the bayou). It is my favorite moderate. There truly is no comparison to the YC. Not comparing apples/apples. However, if I have to stay at a moderate, again, I would definitely go back to POR and request the bayou.

POR is our fave MOD...have yet to stay at CSR tho. Doesn't really interest me. I am so glad you love YC & POR. I can't wait for my stay at YC CL!!

Same here.

POR, by FAR our favorite Mod. We actually liked it more than WL when we stayed at WL a year of so ago. IMHO they have the best food court on propery by a long shot.

And it's great that they are doing a refurb, the decor was starting to look dated.

Believe it or not, that's a downgrade. The price for a deluxe club level room is cheaper than the price for a Lagoon view club level room. Club level prices are: standard, garden, deluxe and then lagoon (unless they changed it again).
It's still weird hearing that it would be a downgrade, although maybe that's me thinking it's a bigger room so it sounds like more of an upgrade on paper. Although at least it won't happen if it's a downgrade because it's still less expensive then the room we reserved.

Thank you for that reply.

I just took a moment to "peek" at this thread and now I'm not getting my work done. :goodvibes

Thank you for the great information.

Do many of the rooms with 2 queens have a daybed as well?

We stayed at Contemporary during our last trip DD10 really liked the daybed. My parents shared a queen, and I had the other queen to myself.

Thanks!

Robyn,

I now have a 6:50 ressie. :banana::banana::banana:

I don't want to go too late because the youngest in our party is 5. ;)

Jennifer

Yeah! 6:50 should be perfect timing!

Dee - can you add Jennifer to our DisMeet? Also, please send Teena
another "Flat Dee" so you can be there in spirit!!!!

I just posted on the CL thread, but we just returned from a stay at BC CL lagoon view and it was fantastic! We were in room 5663 overlooking the courtyard and lake. Our room was the middle room if you are looking up to the fifth floor from the courtyard outside. It was close to the lounge, but yet not right outside the lounge where we'd hear lots of noise/people. Standout CM's for us were Neil and I believe her name is Vilma. And thankfully I had time to say a quick hello to Teena and tell her I recognized her name from the DIS! She is a great woman, always smiling and very friendly. Teena - I was the one with twin girls celebrating their 8th bday. The BC is our favorite resort and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
