All the CL GV rooms at the BC have full balconies. There are nine CL GV room at the BC.

There are only five CL GV rooms at the YC. There are 34 CL SV rooms at the YC.

Teena you sweet sweet woman!! I was a little worried that we wouldnt get a full balcony during our cl stay, and the balcony is super important to us since we have a 2 yr old and we'll be in the room alot while she sleeps so hanging on the balcony would be a treat! Turns out we booked a GV CL!! You really just made my week!!

Hey woman ... did you get my email?

Yes mam I did! (now that I checked!)
A reply will be coming forthwith with a pattern to sew that lime green beach club banana hammock for Bob. I suspect you will be needing that for all those fancy cruises you will be going on! :lmao: :rotfl2::rotfl: :lmao:

Which five YC rooms are GV/CL?

I see on the Disneyzone map that 5195, 5197 and 5199 are listed as SV, but the map is old and doesn't label GV rooms. I know I booked a GV room and stayed in 5197 last year and we had a view of SAB.

If those three rooms are in fact GV rooms, do you know where the other two GV rooms are? Are there YC/GV/CL rooms that don't overlook SAB?
If I had to take an educated guess at the GV CL rooms, by looking at Bing Maps, I would say the following 5 are GV:

5148
5150
5152
5154

(all are facing gazebo facing away from Epcot, making it difficult to see water too)

5198

(faces away from Epcot and just outside the main lake entrance, but no view of lake from that angle)

Like I said, it's just a guess... Get on Bing Maps and look at the bird's eye view. It's wonderful....

It is very hard to get a king bed at either the YC or BC. You cannot book a king bed. We do not have that category. Some resorts do though. It is only a request and although there are more at the YC, there are also many more requests for them at the YC from the convention guests. Most people that request one do not get them unfortunately.

ahhh, see, that's good to know. :thumbsup2 I'm not going to worry about that then... we'll stick w/ the queen beds and try for a full balcony then.
I can't thank you enough for all the advice you give on this thread.... it's amazing the amount of info I've learned just going through everyone's questions.

it's so hard sometimes to pick a resort.... everything is SO wonderful at Disney, so it's really hard to go wrong. I'm SOOOOOOOOOO excited for the Beach Club !! I think the waiting is the hardest part!!!

Well, I paid off our package this morning. Only 49 days until we are at the Beach Club! I am so excited--it really seems real now!

How are the time trials going with the speed packing of the truck? Have you broken the 1 minute barrier yet??

I'm enjoying reading your pre-trip report! Congrats on the pay-off. I'm waiting until Tinkerbell contributes her last possible Disney dollars on my card before my pay-off due date.

This is so funny, because we LOVED the YC last year, (and I promise we are not stuffy people at all) and can't wait to give BC a try!!!

The one part about that crazy thread, is that someone mentioned that BC/YC wasn't Disney Themed. Now correct me if I'm wrong (but don't tell DH if I am actually wrong, I have to keep him thinking I'm perfect) the ONLY resort that is "Disney THEMED" is All Star Movies??? The other resorts may have Theme Park Views, or have the Monorail, but that DOES NOT make it Disney Themed? Not even the Nemo bedding at CBR makes it Disney Themed. Am I missing something there.

But to actually Hate the BC/YC resort is mindboggleing (or is it Mind Boggleing) ......whatever it is has really boggled my mind, because I can't even spell it!!!!

Well, I just wanted to get that off my chest, because after reading the post yesterday it has just made me crazy.

Good Day!!!

I just wanted to add my two cents to all the posts I have been trying to catch up on over the past few days about YC and BC bashers. I was very skeptical of booking the BC because I couldn't understand what the "disney magic" was (others may call it "disney themed") with this resort compared to AKL, WL, POLY. It looks like a hotel in Cape Code that I stayed at when I was 15. What is so special about that? Well after reading though many posts and educating myself on the BC, the very reason I was turned off at first is the very reason I am falling in love with BC. Who else but Disney can make you feel like you are at the beach on Martha's Vineyard in Florida but Disney. Just sayen:)

That sounds like a wonderful trip. In fact it is so wonderful that I suggest that I would make a great travelling companion for your family and since we are both from the Toronto area I think it would be fantastic if you would pick me up and take me with you on your trip.

I promise I'll be a good traveller. :)
LOL, Well there wouldn't be any more room. Our trunk is filled with our main luggage and our back seat has our smaller bags on side and me on the other seat. Plus driving back home we will have new things we purchased which we won't have room to pack, so we need to make extra room in the back of our car.

In just a few more days :cool1: I will checking in to the BC for the first time. After reading the 'not impressed' thread, I have to say that some of the reasons that "they" name for not liking the resort make me happy that I choose the BC. Not having a food court is no big deal to me. I have stayed at WL, Poly, POFQ and Pop and I found theirs to all be messy, nasty, and noisey. I don't have any small children so I don't have to worry about SAB being too big. However, one of the reason I LOVE disney so much is watching other people's children having a blast! :thumbsup2 I think BC will be a good fit for us. I enjoyed my visits at WL, Poly, and POFQ but those just didn't feel like home to me. I hated Pop and will never stay there again. Since I live at the beach, I think BC will feel like home more than the others. I'm happy with my decision and it's all I can do to keep from doing online check in!!! Even though I don't really care what room or view we have, I still want to experience check in to see how it compares with the other resorts I have stay at. Poly was the worst for this, followed by Pop. Believe it or not! lol...

I'm surprised, we had a great check in at Poly, no wait at all, just walked up to the desk, got all our requests too - Tokelau, upper floor, near beach :goodvibes

Not yet with the speed packing. Perhaps I need to simply back the truck up to the back porch to get the time down?

I don't think I could expect any more Pixie Dust for the pay off. It kind of hurt today, dropping that load, but then I thought of the return and I was just fine.

Can't wait to see you in just a few short weeks!

Trying to get caught up- is everyone staying CL but me :confused3 :sad1::sad1:

OK, I'll admit it.... I'm not staying at club level either. It seems the clubbers heard about the lime green speedo and I'm BANNED!!!!

that's ok though... sniff.....

I have a plan!

I'm going to spend the entire vacation riding in the elevators until one of those unsuspecting clubbers inadvertently takes me up to the club level.
~Then I will fill my zip lock bags to overflowing until I have enough oatmeal and hard boiled eggs to last me for the duration!

I don't need no stinkin deluxe dining plan! I got ZIPLOCKS!!!

Mwa ha ha!

~Nameless and shameless in Marlton NJ
PS. Do they take coupons up there??

Yes we will have to do our "Happy Intervals Denying our Existence" in the pool in the afternoon. For those of you wondering, H.I.D.E. is a favorite activity of mothers on vacation everywhere. This entails leaving the children with the husband at the pool and 'wandering' off, never to be found again until supper.

Some mothers go shopping, others populate the pool bar or sneak back into the room for a quiet nap. The room is the least desirable however because that is where bewildered members of the family often look first.

I prefer to hide in plain sight and when ever a member of the family begins to approach, I gnash my teeth violently and threaten to take away video game time. It works like a charm! :goodvibes

Yep. It's going to be fun!!!!

So I'm getting the sense that DH and I really should book YC if we want some peace and quiet after the parks? We stayed in a BWI Garden Suite on our first trip and loved it because it was so quiet. Our last trip was WL directly off the lobby (a bear-face room, I believe it is called) and found the noise from the lobby cacophonous.

Is the noise in the BC lobby really loud? Is that what the hustle and bustle comments mean?

As most of you know, our dear friend Teena will be welcoming her first grandchild sometime this summer. Her daughter Jeanne refers to her little one as “Peanut” and so far has resisted the temptation to learn her baby’s gender.

I thought it would be fun to have a “Is Peanut a Princess or a Pirate” pool on the boards. Although I would love to collect $2 per guess- with half of the money to the winner half of the money to Jeanne, there are probably rules on the this board prohibiting solicitation, so this will just have to be for bragging rights. But I bet we could still make this interesting!

For the record, Teena thinks this is a neat idea, but Jeanne can’t believe “strangers” are interested in her or her baby!

I will post the predictions on Page 1 of the Beach and Yacht Club FAQ forum.

Here are the rules:

Your prediction should include Princess or Pirate, and the date you think Peanut will arrive

For added pizzaz- highlight your guess in pink or blue!

Don't quote this post, please

One guess per person

In the event of duplicate guesses, first to be submitted will be used

Eligible dates will be June 18 to August 13. Jeanne’s due date has not been shared on the boards, but there are hints and clues about timing for those who are willing to dig.

Teena, Jeanne and all members of their immediate family are not eligible to participate in this contest.

My guess will be the first official entry- see next post: I am going with Princess, born on July 5 (my older son’s BD)

Let the games continue!

Dee

Keep in mind since the new computer system, check-in has been taking much longer. It's not the resorts' fault or the CM's fault ... it's the new computer system. Very frustrating for everybody.
