2011 Beach & Yacht Club FAQ

Earlier tonight at Wendy's my family and I happened to see someone wearing a Disney Cruise Line shirt and asked how they liked it? Anyway it turns out this woman was a big Disney fan and we started talking about WDW. She then mentioned how the Yacht Club was her favorite resort and I asked how strict they were when checking everyone going to Stormalong Bay and the wristbands. Well she said during her most recent stay they didn't give out any wristbands, however the Cast Members working there were still very strict on at the entrances checking everyones KTTW cards. So is it true that they don't always give out wristbands?

Oh, I hope they aren't like the wrist bands they used to give out for EMH, I could never get them off, and would have to go down to the front desk or gift shop to ask for scissors

I'm not sure about all the WDW resorts, but we've stayed at BC, Poly, WL, CBR, CSR and Sports, and they have all had showers above the bath! I'm guessing that all WDW resorts do, but someone else may be able to confirm.

Thankyou! :thumbsup2

Nope, it's not a stupid question. I believe they all do although I'm not quite sure about the configuration of the shower in a handicapped accessible room.

I remember when I spent 2 weeks in the Bavaria region of Germany. I came across some pretty... um... 'interesting' bathroom arrangements so I can see why you were wondering.

Nope, us Yanks tend to plant the shower head about six feet up on a side wall with the controls closer to the bottom near the tub.

I hope that helps,
Marlton Mom

Thankyou! :thumbsup2
I couldn't tell from the pictures if there was a shower above the bath & i couldn't find any info on it. & hahahaa yes us Brits/Europeans have a very different shower arrangement over here. :rotfl: ;)

In the BCV in the one bedroom villas there is a separate shower which is a stall shower (no tub) and then a very large whirlpool tub with no shower.
When we stayed in a 2 bedroom villa at Saratoga Springs there was one stall shower (no tub), one large whirlpool tub (no shower), and then one shower/tub combo in the 2nd bathroom.

Amanda

Thankyou. :thumbsup2

lol yepp!! 15 people taking on the world with a 15 month old! it will be just a little bit of crazy :):rotfl:

Don't worry - we had 16 at the BC for our Grand Gathering and we had a blast! They ranged in age from 3-80. Everyone thought it was the best vacation ever!!!!

Teena...would you happen to know what Easter activities are planned for the Beach Club??? Thanks so much!!!!

I've seen a couple small posts about exterior work being done at the BC. If so, Can anyone confirm the extent of the work being done right now and how it might impact the view from a GV room? I have ressies for 5/11 - 5/15 GV, and would like to put in a request for a first floor room closest to Epcot. Would this be far enough away from any of the work being done? Thanks so much for any info anyone can give. ;)

Are you my twin sister separated at birth?

This is exactly what we do. We always make our dinner ADR for between 7 and 7:30. The appetizers tide us over so that we can make the later dinner reservation.

I know! Add in rope drop, walking to DHS, etc. . . . I'm thinking the same thing!

Seeing all the balcony numbers for BC is kind of fun! I think I read there are 9GV Club Level rooms and 3 have stand up balconies right? So 67% have full balconies? or in the 200+ pages did I get confused?

I just paid off the balance for my stay and we are 100% Club Level. Also talked to IPO and they have been amazing. Just waiting on the Wishes Dessert Party dates to be announced to surprise my mom!

Our most recent BC stays were March 2010, July 2010 and February 2011 and they checked cards and distributed wristbands most of the time. The most common exceptions: when we stopped in to swim for a few minutes before closing. In those cases, they just checked cards, but didn't give us wristbands for 10-15 minute swims. But we have received wristbands almost every time for afternoon and early evening swims, including during our most recent stay in February.

Sorry to hear about the photo problems, I can relate (been there, done that, have the tee-shirt to prove it). Good luck with the recovery attempt. Hope it helps, keep us posted. By the way, how was the rest of the vacation?

Thanks for asking. Our vacation was wonderful. Up every day early so we could hit rope drop at whatever park we were going to, ate at alot of good restaurants: California Grill, Kouzzina, La Hacienda, Teppon Edo and others. Wish we were still there, also wish I could plan our next one (not allowed by husband).

I believe Teena posted last month that the exterior BC work would continue throughout 2011:confused3

I would also love to know what parts have been completed and what is left to be done.

Laughing at that last line! :) Looking forward to hearing more and hope you work out the photo issue! If you have a minute, could you share more about Kouzzina? We're thinking about trying it in August.

Have no idea ... right now they are working right outside the back door.

Thanks for your reply.

In the past, we have a candy hunt on the lawn outside the back door. That's pretty much it.

Teena, what's it like wearing that bunny suit and having the kids chase you around on the lawn looking for eggs and jelly beans? ;) Your devotion to the guests at the hotel is Remarkable!!!!
