Now that will teach me to go 3 days without reading this thread. I think I'm mostly caught up but had to do a little skimming. Some very pleasant things and some VERY scary (the little green DIS thong).
doccoc2002-congrats on your great news! I will continue to pray for you, Robyn and Teena.
I think Teena needs a POP outfit. A cute little poodle skirt and saddle shoes. Or maybe a slinky disco dress.
We have been so busy this weekend. Our house is on the market and we are getting it ready for an open house. I'd better get to working on our trip planning again. Only 26 days till we leave for POP for 3 nights then the BC for 4 nights.

I called and added a night to "our" reservation - mom is coming down to joion me . I was originally booked for 2 nights at the YC garden view; when I called to add 1 night to the front of our reservation I could only get the YC standard view so I now have 2 reservations that they added a comment - continuing reservation on the 1st night.

My question is how does this work? Will we need to check in and then out again and in again the next morning? I thought they might allow us to stay in the same room without the above but with the different views I'm not sure

Has anyone had this situation before and know how it works? Thanks for any help

It can't be a continuing reservation because you booked two different rooms at two different rates. Normally if you have two different reservations back to back and they are for the same room, then it's a "continuing reservation" and you only have to get new keys with the new dates on them ... you just stay in your room. In your case, unless they upgrade you for your second reservation, then you will have to actually check-out and leave your room and check-in and go into a different room. You may want to consider downgrading your first reservation now to a standard room so you will not have to leave the room for the second reservation.

I knew that there weren't parking lots within 300 ft or so of the resort, so I was curious as to just how bad a standard view might be. Teena explained that most of them involve roof lines rather than a large expanse of asphalt. She recommended that if the view was relatively important to just pony up a bit more and upgrade to GV, which I did. Thanks Teena!

Here's my next question. I have requested a full balconey, but completely understand there's no guarantee. If there's not "full balconey" availability at the beginning of our 9-night stay, but one comes open on day 4 for example, can I politely request that we be moved to this room? In other words, upon checking into a room with a standing-balconey, can I ask to be contacted later in our stay if/when a full balconey is available so that we could move into the new room?

Yes, if you get into that situation, mention that you are interested in a full balcony room as soon as one opens up. I would check back with the desk daily if you don't hear anything.

Hi Teena - thank you for the info I think I miswrote on my first message though. Our 1st day is for std (only thing available at the YC when I added it tonight) and the other 2 days are in a garden view (std not available - old ressie). I'd like to pay the extra the 1st night for the garden view but it's not available.

We have finally made a vacation decision - we decided to take advantage of our free dining pin (the men decided the food is very important!) and booked a Water View room.

So, deluxe room will be opening up for anybody looking for one July 17-23!!

Absolutely. At the time you check-in and find you do not have a full balcony, tell them right then and there that you want them to set you up for a room change for a full balcony the day one becomes available. Usually it is within one or two days. We do this all the time. No worries. Again, be firm. You could get a CM at the front desk that is a new college intern. If you are firm, the CM will get someone who will set that up for you.

OK, I find this hard to believe. Have you gone onto the WDW website and pretended you have no reservation at all and tried to book the three days together? I bet either standard or garden is available for those three days. But I think you might have mentioned you are there on a conference? If that's so, then this is what I would do:

Do NOT do an on-line checkin!!!! When you get to the front desk, ask to speak to a manager right away. Tell them the situation and ask them if there is anything they can do so you do not have to change rooms. Tell them you are willing to pay for a garden view all three days or you would be willing to stay in a standard view all three days. I think they will be able to work it out for you.

Hee hee! Ok, so I never unsubscribed to this thread-- just couldn't bring myself to do it. When I got the email updates on this thread I was reminded what Teena said, to keep checking online for resort availability with the discount.......

So I kept thinking how hot June is & how crowded the Poly pool can get.... and TODAY there was availability at BC CL GV!!! So I switched!! ('Cause I hear bananas like to dance in 3's.) I also dropped DxDP in favor of the regular, figuring if I'm staying CL, I probably didn't need the gazillion breakfast ADRs.

Tomorrow I'll sit down w/ DH & figure out which ADRs to keep and about a dozen to whack. Oh after I changed the reservation, I checked online again no more availability for CL GV, apparently there was exactly 1 room & I snagged it. So glad I called tonight!

So, for the June list I am staying BC CL GV June 16th to 25th -- first ever CL stay.

Welcome Back!!! You will LOVE BC in June, and you totally made the right choice to downgrade the dining plan. With your young family, you will find the lounge breakfast so convenient in the morning, instead of trying to get to a bunch of different places for breakfast.

Got it. There were only 4 on December, so I thought I would just make the changes and not copy your list as is. Then I forgot to input the dates you had! I did add on the additional day for heather.

I'm not sure that I have seen the exact dates for HockeyMomR, but it is mid-July.

I don't know of anyone else for your months.

Does the YC have air conditioning sensors so when you are not in/ or no movement in the room the A/C turns off? If so, does anyone know how to override them? We are going in May and I don't want to wake up sweating.
