90 days til my first stay at BCV!!!!:dance3:

I cannot wait!!! This has been the longest, coldest and worst winter I remember in a long, long time! I am hoping by July the weather in NE will be at least in the 60's so I will be somewhat ready for my vacation!!!

Do you know if this is in the villas rooms as well?
Fingers crossed it will be in the villas come May 1. Knowing our luck though there
wont be any by then, heres to hoping

Bounceback offer was in our room when we stayed at the Villas last July.

Good Luck!

Ok I have a question for the experts here. I just called disney to add a 3rd adult to our standard room reservation which would bring us to 5 total people. The extra person (my mom) will only be with us during the first 3 days of the trip and we will be there an additional 4 days after. The woman on the phone told me she couldn't just add that person for 3 days and they would have to be added for the entire 7 nights and that we should just show up and add her at checkin that way we will nto be charged the additional $25 fee. When I asked her about the couch/daybed she said all rooms have these which I thought there were only a few.

SO my question is, was this CM correct? We should just show up with one extra adult the day of and add her for 3 days? She is a florida resident so we don't need to get her tickets or DDP.

Hi, everyone!

Doing some more planning on our upcoming August Mom/Daughter trip - a fabulous 12-day stay at the BC - and had a quick question...

During August, what would be a "typical" closing time in the evening for Stormalong Bay?

Each afternoon, I have built in some swim time, but I wasn't sure if we'd be able to go swimming at night, as well....

Thanks!

P.S. NateBenMa - I just read your 2010 August TR - you guys had an amazing trip! I LOVED the candid Photopass photos you got with your sons...I don't know if I'll be able to convince my (almost) 12-year old daughter to pose silly like that, but I'm going to try! Loved the report & photos.

When we've been there in July and August it typically stays open to 10 pm, although once in a while it was open until 11.

The offer, not the amazing clock MMom spoke of....:rotfl:

My DH and I spoke about going back to WDW for a short weekend trip this December to see the lights, etc. We'll be down there this September for our anniversary.... would I be able to book a second trip using the bounceback offer in that short of a timeframe? Would it be worth it for me to start looking for deals now?:confused3

Thanks!

This was the bounceback offer at Beach Club Villas last month (March):

40% off non-discounted price of DVC villas (3-BR grand villas excluded) and deluxe resorts.
All dates were for 2011:
Feb. 1-5
Feb. 13-19
Feb. 27- March 5
May 8-27
May 31 - June 4
August 21 - Oct. 8
Oct. 23-29
Nov. 13-19
Nov. 27 - Dec. 3
Dec. 11-17

This was posted a few days ago- although there is no way to know if the same offer will be around in September, it gives you an idea of the eligble dates.

Thanks for reading my trip report and your kind comments. We had fantastic summmer trips at the Beach Club the past two years!

Photopass is great, but the tweens don't always cooperate. I remember 2009 was the "year of the tounge". Almost every photo of Ben has his tounge sticking out. For photos of the 12 year old, eye rolling is mandatory.

The CM is incorrect. Not rooms have a daybed. You can certainly add your mother on the day you check-in but they will charge you the extra $25 fee but if you speak with a manager, you may be able to convince them just to do it for the 3 days. You will have to hope a five sleeper room is available at that time also.

Thanks,

I think the daybed word was my add on, I was actually talking about the 5 room sleeper. She told me the rooms all have 2 queens and a pullout couch so sleeping 5 wouldn't be a problem. If a 5 room sleeper isn't available i'm sure we can make do by having my oldest/mom in one bed and me/wife/ds3 in another for 3 nights. Thanks for the input, I will just wait until we get there.

No, they do not. If you are talking about the Beach Club and the Yacht Club, only some of the rooms sleep five people. Most of the rooms only have two queen beds. They do NOT have pullout couches unless it is a five sleeper. A daybed is the same thing as a pullout couch. Except even half of the five sleepers do not have pullout couches, they only have daybeds that sleep one small adult and smaller, definitely not a full size adult.

It's hard to say whether the bounceback at that time will cover the end of the year. I believe the past few years it has been to book free dining for the following year (in the same time frame).

Unless you get a pin for December, it will be a LONG time before December deals come out to the general public. AP rates for summer aren't even out yet :sad2:

The bounceback that is in the room right now covers dates through 12/31/11 but there are some dates blocked out. It's for I believe 40% off.

Thank you both! I think we'll just play it by ear and see what the bounceback offers are when we are down there in September. I just really want to experience WDW during the holidays, something I've surprisingly never done in all the years I've been travelling there!

I doubt the PIN method would work, since we've never gotten a PIN offer. :confused3

We were on a Universal/SeaWorld trip for Tropical Storm Faye. Wans't that special  We had Aquatica tickets too, and thought we'd never get to use them.
In Universal some rides require you to put any purses, etc in lockers, which are operated by finger prints. Everyones fingers were so waterlogged, the lockers wouldn't work :laughing: What a mess :scared1:

We were in a family suite at ASMusic. I really liked the layout of the suites but they were putting in a new tile floor in the food court and the day Faye hit they closed off the hallway in that building so you had to walk all the way around the building to get to the bus stop. And it continued to rain for days. I haven't been back to ASMu since. I might try Animation Suites when it opens.

That is horrible! Kind of funny, but horrible!

We were at ASMusic, too! I could NOT believe it when they closed that hallway between the foodcourt and the bus stop forcing everyone to walk outside in the rain!!! Could they not have waited until AFTER a forecasted Tropical Storm to start the work?

Fortunately I have found another home at Disney, so I am no rush to go back to ASMu either!

I think we need to start an "I Survived a Faye Vacation" support group.:lmao:

Apologies in advance to anyone here who might be named Faye, or have a family member or friend named Faye. Unless they are horrible on vacations, then you are welcome to join.

A few questions...
1) Where is the club level lounge located in the Yacht Club and Beach Club?

2) What is the main differences between the two. Right now I have a club level room at the Beach Club reserved for 4/21 - 4/23. I am thinking of switching to Yacht Club. Is there a difference or any pros for doing this?

3) I have no room requests on my reservation. But I was thinking of adding something. I think I have a garden view CL room reserved. I have two seperate reservations. One is for the 21st when there is no discount, just my AAA. The other is for the next night w/the GP discount. On the GP discount it states Garden View CL. But the AAA just says club level - should I be concerned? I also assume we will get a room that sleeps five since our reservation clearly shows three adults and two children.
Any suggestions about room location would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Debbie

I'll join that support group! We were there during Faye also...I never thought that rain was going to end!! We stayed at POR that trip and had to walk from our building to the food court in torrential rain; thankfully our building wasn't that far away! We went through 2 ponchos that trip and DH's park ticket was that tyvek paper type ticket and it completely fell apart from the rain....that was fun trying to get it transferrred to a plastic card:rolleyes:

Thank you! If nothing else it gives me a good idea of when the more likely times will be to go down there! :goodvibes

No I don't think I did. My box was full and I didn't get some. I cleaned it out and made some room a few minutes ago.

Just wanted to say Thank you for the cookies and such in our room. What a nice thing to do. It was a pleasure meeting you and wish I had more time to talk. Hope to be back someday!!!

I was behind a CM who coordinated the work or something like that anyways at the fast pass lines at Toy Story Mania. I told him they should have waited a day or 2 but he insisted it would be a bad time for someone staying at the resort no matter when they did the work and they had to keep the schedule.:headache:

One night the skies opened up on our return to the resort. My DH has this thing about NOT wanting to wear a poncho.:confused3 He says he gets wetter sweating in a poncho than he does with a "little" rain. So he was standing under a pool umbrella waiting for the storm to pass when the umbrella gave out and got him soaked.:rotfl2: I remember walking through puddles that had to have been about 9" deep.

My camera died on that trip so I had to buy a new one.

Our family trips have been deluxe resorts since that one. At least it wasn't a once in a lifetime trip for us.

The BC and YC are two separate resorts with two separate lobbies and two separate club levels and lounges.

You should make sure you have the same type room reserved on both your reservations or you may have to change rooms. If you have five people in your room over the age of 3 you are suppose to get a five sleeper.

The main differences between the two are location (BC is closer to Epcot) (YC is closer to the Studios), decor (I call the YC the dark side and the BC the light side) and the fact that half the rooms at the BC have full balconies and the other half have standing balconies. At the YC you will usually run into alot of people there without children ... they are there for conventions. I personally like the feel of the BC (light, airy, fun, noisy in the lobby) versus the feel of the YC. However, I have friends that much prefer the dark side ... and they have young children. It's all a personal choice. To be honest, when my husband said to book one night there (still think it will be strange to stay where I work) so we can use SAB for two days, if there hadn't been a room available at the BC, I would not have booked the YC. But that's my personal opinion. Just as many people would say the opposite I'm sure.

The food, drink, etc. is absolutely 100% the same on both sides in the lounge. We have the same managers, the same restaurants, the same CMs.

You're very welcome. Sure hope you come back!!!

WOW! This is great, I am thinking of staying here on our 2012 Christmas trip, how is it decorated for Christmas? Good? Bad? GREAT?

Count us in that group. It's our vacation that we lovingly call "The five days of Fay". It never stopped raining. I was just glad that we each had 2 pairs of shoes with us. Left one in the villa to dry out while we got the other pair wet. The hair dryer came in handy, too. At least it was a warm rain and chased most of the people out of the parks. No lines, no waiting! One of our favorite vacations at WDW! :thumbsup2
