2011 Beach & Yacht Club FAQ

Back to reality today. My family had a wonderful time at DisneyWorld and loved BCV. We had room 348 (a one bedroom villa). We could see some of the fireworks at night from Epcot. Loved the location of the room as it was right by a staircase exit that let us outside and closer to Epcots entrance. The pool was awesome, mostly every afternoon we chilled out at the pool. Beaches and Cream and Hurricane Hannahs were both very good. Got to meet Teena on the 20th and 21st. It was so nice to meet her in person and talk a bit with her. Teena, our prayers are with you!!!! Sent you a PM, hope you got it!!! The one thing that did bother me was the "Pick a Pearl" right outside Hurricane Hannahs. My daughter picked a very rare pearl, the price said $15.95 but they charge you additional for the kind of pearl and how big it is. Also, if you want to make it into something it costs more. I think the lady working was very vague on the whole price of it all. My daughter ended up with a very expensive ring.

The two times my family and I have been to Beaches & Cream we have always been able to eat there, however I want to confirm that you can also order Milkshakes from their to go section?

I have added you to the May list

When you get a chance, could you either repost your lists or remind me where they are! I'll probably have a chance to update the front page lists tomorrow morning.

Elliefusmom and pixiedust247- could you repost your lists, too, please.

I know that MickeyT and Nannette have their lists on page 4.

Thanks!!!

Dee

Yes, you can. Here is a link to a review with photos:

http://land.allears.net/blogs/jackspence/2010/11/beaches_cream_1.html

"There is also a walk-up window for take-out orders. Sundaes, cones, malts, shakes and Coke products can be ordered here. Food items are only available in the restaurant."

As the Magic 8 Ball says "All signs point to yes"

Here are a couple of photos of the B&C To Go menu posted by MsCoz2000 in December:

Thank you WDWKOOK and natebenma for your replies and I should have remembered seeing that sign when we had to wait for our table in August 2010.

HELLLLOOOOOOO.....is anybody there :sad1:. I guess I will rephrase my questions:

The family will be staying at the Yacht Club (CL) in Sept. We have GV. Are there any GV rooms that have awful views and should be avoided?

Also, from the exterior photos, it appears that the top floor balconies are larger. Are these all LV rooms?

You're welcome. I'm looking forward to eating there and hopefully, we'll be able to get a seat. Have you ever ordered the Kitchen Sink?

DH and I just got back from a great week at the YC. We had a perfect view of the Boardwalk from our room. It was nice to sit and people watch at the end of the day. Also the weather was PERFECT last week. Pools were great as was Beaches and Cream. We had great luck with the busses and they finished the dock rehab while we were there as well. :thumbsup2

Sounds like you had a wonderful trip!

Do you happen to remember if your Bounceback offer was for 40% off Deluxes and do you know until what date in December it was go through?

I've never actually stayed in a GV CL, I've always booked the LV CL because I absolutely love it!! I do know, however, that there are beautiful GV CL views overlooking the wedding gazebo. Perhaps that might be a view you would like to request.

The balconies on the fifth floor aren't actually any larger but they are more "open" without what I call "framing" around the balcony:confused3 and I personally prefer them because sometimes (WL) I've had balconies where I feel a little closed in.

Hope this helps.

We stayed gv cl at YC since they won't let us book lv because we travel as a family of 5. We had a beautiful gv view. We overlooked the back entrance and we were the last room on the left (when you are looking at the entrance). You had a nice side view of the lagoon and the Boardwalk.

Are there any others who are joining us next month??

Yes Ma'am I am on page 4 the very quiet for now November List!! I'm sure we will pick up soon enough!!!

in 18 days I get to call and try to get into either BCV's for 2 nights or BLT for 2 nights.. I'm currently booked AKL CL for those 2 nights, but considering a move.. DD 26 wants to try BLT I'm kind of torn with where to stay... maybe someone here can help me figure that out?? The story is we are at Disney for 10 nights the first 2 currently AKL CL, then we are 6 nights at Yacht Club doing the platinum plan and the last 2 nights are AKL CL.. so should I switch if I can to BCV's or BLT??? Thoughts on this are very welcome!! I have told DD that she won't know until we arrive that will be her surprise! Give me some good advice!! :worship:

Mini report....March 18th-21st stayed at Royal Pacific at Universal so we could do Harry Potter. We had a lot of fun and the kids loved Harry Potter. The crowds were not bad. I do think staying at their hotel was very beneficial. We did eat at Tchoup Chop (yum!!) and Emeril's restaurant on the City walk ( yum but more expensive)

Monday March 22nd moved over to Beach Club CL!!! our room was ready by 8:15 in the morning!!! Bonus. We stopped by the lounge and ate breakfast and headed to Epcot. We ate lunch at the new Mexican quick service ( cheese empanadas (yum) were great. We ate at Flying Fish for dinner.

Tues. Kids did the pirates league package and loved it. Just FYI DD is 17 and DS is 13. They had blast. We rode Space Mountain walk on 3 times with no wait in the morning. It was not too crowded!!!! Did Hoop De Doo and had a great time.

Wed. we went to DHS. Not too crowded. Went to Jiko for dinner. Yum!!!

Thurs went to Ak. My Dd and DH did the AK tour and loved it. Thought it was very interesting and fun. Ate at Coral reef and it was only ok.

Fri we went to MK. Not too crowded. Had Crystal palace mid morning. Just ate in Epcot quick service for dinner.

Sat went to DHS again. All week they had been working on the dock at BC so we could take a bus or walk. This morning we waited for a little while and then asked a CM about where the bus was. They were a few other families waiting too. They had opened the dock that morning but no one knew. I was slightly annoyed they did not call they rooms to let them know. The reason I say this is they had called us earlier in the week about moving cars off the parking lot so they could repave. I thought if they could do that they should call and let us know the dock was back open. This was my only complaint. Went to Biergarten for dinner.

Sun we spent our last day at Epcot. We ate lunch at Via Napoli. Yummy!!

The weather was perfect all week. Sunny and it did not rain!!!! We spent a lot of afternoons at the pool. They did check room cards and give wristbands everyday. We always found seats and we would go around 3:30 ish.

CL was nice. It was busy!!! The CM are very friendly and helpful. If you have any questions just ask them. They gave us beer before it was out one day when I just asked what time it was out. She offered to go get us some and who could pass that up!!:goodvibes They also offered to get people a big bottle of water to take back to their room. They have Evian glass bottles in the lounge instead of little plastic bottles.

We stayed in room 5636. It was at the end of the hall right by the Newport Suite. It was quiet and nice. We could see Boardwalk and some water and some fireworks from our balcony.

Had a really great time and can't wait to go back. If you have any questions please ask!!!

Thanks for the report! We're staying at Portofino Bay in May before our AKL trip and I have booked Tchoup Tchoup. Any other suggestions for US/IOA? My kids are younger than yours (3 and 6).
