My DD and her friend had the kitchen sink...they ate it all...eeeww....looked like slop as they neared the end. Not my 'cup of tea' that's for sure.:crazy2:

I know, I know, the thought of hairy man toes in glass slippers is pretty tough to take!

If life were really like that all the "Man-cesses" would be lined up at the waxing salons asking for "the full body wax and I don't mean turtle!"

Hey everyone...
I have to go back and read from page 125:scared1: Where have I been :confused3:confused3

I hope everyone is doing well...

I got my MRI results as we were heading to CT for my DH's uncles' funeral. The cancer has not spread and it is contained only in the right breast:worship::worship:

I am still waiting for genetic results and my 2nd opinion appt on April 6th and my original Dr appt on April 8th...
So I am off to read:surfweb:

I'm glad this is good news and you are still in my prayers. Best wishes and pixie dust on the April 6th appointment.

Ah well. I've downgraded our view from Water to Garden -- but this enables us to stay 3 nights longer! :thumbsup2 My parents will be coming down for a few days at the start of our vacation to spend some time with us and the kiddo; everyone's quite excited. :goodvibes

One quick question for you BC experts: is there such a thing as GV rooms with full balconies? It's what I've put in for as a request, "full balcony"; I know that it's luck-of-the-draw with room requests, just want to make sure I'm actually requesting something that even exists. Thanks in advance.
We had a full balcony GV at BC earlier this month. Room 2530. The only request I had was 'not ground floor'. The CM said I should have a full balcony since I was celebrating my bday.:) But it may of been since we checked in so early (10am) and they still had one.

We are staying at BC for the first time this July. We are on just for a short trip. 7/1-7/4. I know this will sound crazy but we are not going to any parks this time! We are going to enjoy 3 glorious nights at the Beach Club! I would love any tips and tricks, or suggestions. We are just staying at the standard view level. So nothing too fancy, but still excited! If you do a resort only day or a resort only whole stay, how did you plan your time?

Slow, easy, restful, peaceful. Lots of time to just sit and watch everyone else. Pool, boardwalk, downtown Disney, resort hopping (especially AKL, WL and GF), and time on the Boardwalk in the evening. Key is slow and easy which is totaly contrary to what happens when the trip involves the parks. Hope you made an ADR for each night at a different resort. That really gets you out and about. I'm really envious. That's really the way to enjoy WDW in July.

Is there free wi-fi anywhere in the Beach Club?

:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

I'm sorry to have to say but the answer is "maybe". Disney doesn't have free anything but maybe you can get lucky and find someone who set up Wi-Fi in their room with an unprotected access port that is giving such a strong signal you can pick it up on your balcony. That does happen. Also, every once in a while there is a signal available especially in a convention hotel such as the Swan/Dolphin as well as the YC and CR where the organization sponsoring the event has Wi-Fi for its members set up and you can tap in. Also, once in a blue moon Disney does slip up and you can get a signal in the lobby. Just don't expect it. The cost per day for the access isn't bad and typical of what you pay at other hotels. Disney doesn't advertise free Wi-Fi but in reality, you may get lucky and find something. Just don't count on it.

You know, you skip a day, you miss 3-4 pages....:rotfl:

I just saw on another thread, some folks were saying that you can now get an AP from the resorts (as long as it is a new/renew, I think.) I think you can't do it, if you have a voucher. Does anyone know about this?

Back to reality today. My family had a wonderful time at DisneyWorld and loved BCV. We had room 348 (a one bedroom villa). We could see some of the fireworks at night from Epcot. Loved the location of the room as it was right by a staircase exit that let us outside and closer to Epcots entrance. The pool was awesome, mostly every afternoon we chilled out at the pool. Beaches and Cream and Hurricane Hannahs were both very good. Got to meet Teena on the 20th and 21st. It was so nice to meet her in person and talk a bit with her. Teena, our prayers are with you!!!! Sent you a PM, hope you got it!!! The one thing that did bother me was the "Pick a Pearl" right outside Hurricane Hannahs. My daughter picked a very rare pearl, the price said $15.95 but they charge you additional for the kind of pearl and how big it is. Also, if you want to make it into something it costs more. I think the lady working was very vague on the whole price of it all. My daughter ended up with a very expensive ring.

Sounds like you had a great vacation!! Enjoyed your mini review.

Oh, I thought I posted something here about Pick a Pearl, but maybe it was on another thread. For anyone thinking about doing this, I HIGHLY recommend going to Japan to do this. My daughter did this last August at the Japan store. They do such a cute 'ceremony' to go with it! I don't remember an extra charge for the kind of pearl (i.e. on top of the 15.95 fee). In fact, my daughter got 2 pearls in her shell. However, there is the expense of a necklace or ring setting etc. She got a nice Sterling necklace for the 2 pearls and the whole thing (incl. fee) was about $50, which wasn't bad considering all the choices/costs.

Hi all-

Teena should be arriving home today assuming everything went well with her surgery yesterday- hopefully she will post with a quick update, or if one of us hears from her, we will let you know how she is doing.

doccoc2002- glad to hear that the news you got was encouraging and we continue to send positive thoughts your way as you continue through this. I keep meaning to comment on your location. My husband and I both grew up in Dover. Don't want you to name your city, but are you anywhere close to there?

elliefusmom: Tracy- almost time! Have a fantastic trip!!!

DawnMaree-

I added the slideshow link to the Concierge Page.

I have a stash of BC photos (resort, room, SAB, lobby, grounds) from my trips in 2009 and 2010. I don't know if you want to look through them to see if you want to add any to your slide shows. I can upload them to Photobucket or Shutterfly or some other place if you have a suggestion.

I'll probably have time to work on this Friday- may be stuck at home due to a forecasted snowstorm. NO KIDDING!

When I was at CSR last year for a conference and didn't have park passess, I went to AKL one evening. They have some nice food offerings - Boma looks amazing, but I just had their counter service which had a very good stew. After supper it was a great resort to just wander around and check out all the animals.

That said, I think I could be mighty happy to just stick close to the BC/YC for three days straight. :) It is such a beautiful resort that I would love to just sit at SAB or on the boardwalk and watch the world go by. There are so many different food opportunities that you could easily eat at only BC/YC/BW restaurants for three days without repetition.

I just realized that I am listed on the May list, but the majority of our stay is in June. Can I be added to the June list, May 31- June 7 BC CL.

Thanks!

Hi everyone!

We are staying at BC for the first time this July. We are on just for a short trip. 7/1-7/4. We are so excited about trying out the BC as it has been at the top of our list for awhile.

We are going 3 nights to CBR first and then 3 nights at BC.

I know this will sound crazy but we are not going to any parks this time! We are usually park warriors and barely even see the resort we are staying in! Not this time! We are going to enjoy 3 glorious nights at the Beach Club!

I would love any tips and tricks, or suggestions. We are just staying at the standard view level. So nothing too fancy, but still excited!

If you do a resort only day or a resort only whole stay, how did you plan your time?

Thanks!

There are spots to view some of the high fireworks from Illuminations around the resort - the bridge to BW is a good place, I understand, and I even saw some from the pool last July.

You could also check out the marshmallow roast and/or movie on the beach at the Beach Club.

If your plans take you to the Poly, or any of the monorail resorts, you can watch the Electric Water Parade and Wishes from the beach. I posted this earlier in the thread, but here is my review from doing this last year.

A spectacular, solitary finale http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=39535262&postcount=421

What a wonderful trip you have planned! There is so much to do without going to parks. Here are some of my suggestions:

1. Swim, swim, swim and enjoy the pool at the BC/YC - it is glorious!
2. Rent bicylces and ride over to the Boardwalk for lunch or snack
3. Enjoy a nice quiet boat ride to the Studios and back to EPCOT, but don't get off at the parks
4. Get a counter service breakfast and eat on the Boardwalk tables outside and enjoy the hustle and bustle of everyone getting to their destination in the morning and you are relaxing.
5. Enjoy the evening festivities on the Boardwalk including face painting, game stands and often they have performers out
6. Have ice cream at Beaches 'n Cream
7. Enjoy the movies on the beach at BC (sorry I don't know schedule or specifics)
8. RELAX, RELAX and RELAX

doccoc2002 - FANTASTIC NEWS! Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Teena - hope you're feeling better and getting back on your feet.

We will be at YC club level from June8-June 15. Cannot wait!! It will be our third annual girl's trip. Have always stayed at BC. This is the first time staying at YC.
