I just booked a stay at the YC! Yay!

I never thought I'd stay there, so I don't know much about it. We booked a GV room. Is there any chance that we could see high Illuminations fireworks? I requested a room facing Epcot, but I don't even know if that's possible.

Should I change my request and request a room close to Epcot or the lobby? Any suggestions on room requests? Thanks!!!

Anyone else who is missing and wants to be added on, please post. Thx!

Hi Natebenma:
I will be at BC 6/25 - 6/29. First time staying at BC & we can't wait!

Absolutely worth it! Tangerine's combo platter is THE best CS meal and in the top 25% of all meals at WDW. There was an old poll on the resaurant board that had it at the top for years.

Which combo platter? I checked out their menu and they have the Mediterranean slider combo or the chicken and lamb combo shawarma platter? This is on our must eat at list!

I really like the vegetarian platter, and the meatball and rice dinner is really good too. I think we have had the shwarma combo too and no complaints there. Love the Tangierine Cafe!

But the only dessert you can get is baklava. I can live with that!

Ok. Let's get the season started :smickey:
Any December trippers out there?

:wizard:Yacht and Beach Club December Trip List:wizard:

heatherbabydoll1, Dec 13-22, BCV (DS 13th BD)

:grouphug:

Mike, that sounds like fun!!!

I agree!!!! :) I have always wanted to go down to WDW for Christmas. I'd actually like to be there for Christmas Day as well. :goodvibes I'm hoping as the kids get older they might be more open to the idea. Youngest son is still convinced Santa wouldn't come if we weren't at home. :lmao:

I am ashamed to admit that after 50+ trips to WDW I have never eaten there!!! I am going to have to give it a try. The pictures look awesome!!!!! :thumbsup2

We loved the food there too. It has been awhile since we ate there, poss. Aug 2009? Looks like they may have changed the menu a bit. I can't remember if I had the vegetarian platter or chicken. But it was good :goodvibes
Those sliders are new. I may try those, and ask if I can sub chicken or Falafel for the lamb.

I agree, not the best desserts, which is why I go to Sunshine Seasons a lot lol, but I can live with it too :)

Is it August yet? :rotfl: I just can't wait :yay:

I don't really know the answers to your questions. I seem to recall reading about a fee of $10. Even if this is the accurate fee, I am not sure if it is per package charge or if it is a minimum and the fee changes based on the size or weight of the package. Anyone know?

I googled Yacht Club convention center and found this telephone number:

(321) 939-7129

This may be for booking a convention, but I'm sure they could direct you or someone to the place to get the answers you want.

Is an international call difficult/and or expensive for you? I don't mind making the call for you- always appreciate a distraction from the things I should actually be doing... :rolleyes1

If you could that would be great  - the most important information really would be the opening times to get a package as we are arriving on a Saturday but will not get to the resort until 5.30 at the earliest due to flight times.

WOW!!! My computer crashed for a few days and I cannot believe how busy this thread has been.

Robyn, glad to hear your mom is improving.

Teena, good luck next week with your surgery.

I hope everyone else is healthy and doing well...saw some folks had the flu and leaving this weekend...Yikes!

For those of you who will be there soon, please have a Grey Goose slushie for me. They are soooo yummy.
You are so right about this thread eah! Last year the second Y&B 2010 thread didn't start until August. I remember Teena telling me during our stay that a new thread started. This one is on fire and is sure to max out well before August!

I'm wishing the same as eah said above (positive thoughts, prayers and some pixie dust thrown in to all of you!!)

And yes, please get those slushies...don't forget like I did last year!

Kerry

Though not 100 percent sure, I highly doubt you will see Epcot's fireworks from a garden view room. We had a waterview room facing towards Epcot last time and could see them a bit. Take the time to just walk to Crescent Lake and view them there. :thumbsup2

Does anyone know if all studios in bcv have full patios or balconys?

Thanks

All have a balcony or patio large enough for two chairs and a table. Balconies do vary but there are no teeny ones like some at BC.

DHS - Swan/Dolphin - YC/BC - BWI - Epcot

Epcot - BWI - YC/BC - Swan/Dolphin - DHS

Yes, this is the order when the Y&BC dock is open. It's like a continuous string with the boats just retracing the route. So if you get on at the YC, you'll just stop at S/D before going on to DHS. If for any reason (I can't imagine any), you take the boat to Epcot, the boat will go to BW before going on to IG. By then you could be at Soarin if you choose to walk. While the boat dock is still down, the dock at International Gateway is the closest option for BC guests.

Cinderumbrella, taxi will be fastest. If we're in a hurry, we drive. Our son loves the boat so we take it fairly often but it's not fast. If you take a taxi, be sure the cabbie takes a right out of the Y&BC. Shorter and faster route than taking a left and going by the Swolphin.

TeenaS, great good luck next week!

Robyn, I am so glad your mother is showing signs of improvement. :grouphug:
