Haven't been on the Resorts board much recently. Nice to see the new YC/BC thread is up and running. Looking forward to much happy discussion.
If you want to upgrade to an AP, the International Gateway Guest Relations is a great place to do it! If you know you're going to upgrade to an AP, I'd suggest doing that as soon as possible after you arrive.
Two reasons: 1) You'll receive a 10% discount in nearly all the stores with a regular AP and a 20% discount with the Premium or Premier! (Although I should add that last year, the IG Guest Relations could not issue a Premier Pass - WDW/DL - I had to go to the front entrance of Epcot to get my Premier Pass.) 2) If you decide to get a TIW card, you'll want to buy it and start using it right away!
I need to see if California Grill accepts the TIW card. If they do, then that should pay for itself first use.

Robyn, Thanks for the info. We are strongly considering changing from the GV CL to the deluxe CL. We are there for 9 nights and have to make sure the cost difference is worth it.
Would it be too risky to ask for a first floor room since there is only one? Would a first floor or fully balcony be the best way to make a request? Are the deluxe rooms typically available at the AP rate? Thanks![]()
We just used TIW at California Grill last month! It was a celebration for my dad's birthday, so we saved quite a bit on dinner for a party of seven!
It's listed as accepting TIW here: http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/diningdetail.cfm?Restaurant.ID=105
I can't recall the "break even" amount on the TIW card, but I've seen it posted several times on the boards. We don't use the dining plan anymore for several reasons, but the 20% off all our TS meals over four trips for five people has been a huge savings for us.
We've always used our TIW card at California Grill.
There is a kiosk along the beach near Hurricane Hannah's. Can't compare the two locations.
If you're at the YC, it might be a bit less walk to take the boat but will always take longer as the route goes to the BW before going on to Epcot. Returning from Epcot, it does the same. If you'll be at BC, the walk to the boat dock at the YC is about the same as the walk to the IG. If going to DHS, walk to the IG and catch the boat there if the dock at Y&BC is still closed.
doccoc2002, my heart goes out to you. You and your family are in my prayers. If you're not being seen at an academic breast cancer center, please consider going to one.
Robyn and Teena, you're both in my prayers as well. Robyn, your mother must be a very strong woman. She has been through so much.
Thank you. She is an incredibly strong and loving person. I never knew HOW strong she was until we lost my brother (he was only 45). She was absolutely devestated but managed to hang on because she loved her grandchildren and surviving children so much.
She is scheduled (once again) for the surgery tomorrow, so if you can, still keep us in your prayers.
And, I will add that I was able to book a BC/Deluxe room a couple of weeks ago using the military 40% off promo. In the past the deluxe cl rooms were available with AP rates, so hopefully they'll still be available when the new rates are released.
I think that's a great request - 1st floor, or full balcony. That will take care of 4 out of 6 of your requests!

The Deluxe Club Level Rooms are also available with the current general public room only discount that ends next Sunday. In the past the deluxe cl rooms were available with AP rates, so hopefully they'll still be available when the new rates are released.

Yes! You have CL lounge access from check-in until midnight of the day you check-out.Quick question. We are moving over to BC club level in the morning (at universal right now). I'm sure our room won't be ready when we head over around 8-8:30. However can we still take advantage of our staying Club level and grab breakfast in the club lounge before we head out to the park?? Thanks guys!!

We have used many of the kids clubs over the years (Simbas, Neverland, Sandcastle, Cubs den, and camp dolphin) and we've never been turned away. There never seems to be a huge crowd. Probably the busiest one we've experienced was the Neverland club at the Poly but even they had room for our kids. If you make a reservation they do take a credit card, at least they did when our kids were little. Only one word of warning, we usually had to pull our kids out kicking and screaming. LOL![]()
