I hope you get some pixie dust and are able to get a king bed. That's the most important thing for us too.
I asked almost the same question on here and am still confused lol. I just wanted to know how many king rooms are in each category so we could book the category that would give us the best chance. DH has a Cpap and back problems so the extra room is really important for us both to be able to sleep. Someone suggested two queen beds but this is our 3rd anniversary trip so we would really like to sleep in the same bed.

This is our first deluxe stay and we REALLY want to try the BC. Does anyone know if we could request to be moved to the YC if we can't get a king bed at the BC?

I am learning alot more on the DIS boards but still think It's a little difficult to undersatnd. I can book a king bed at POFQ and am guaranteed that room type. I can book a king at a few :confused3 of the deluxe resorts but at most it's luck of the draw? I can also book a king at Country Inn and Suites or Holiday Inn but Disney can't guarantee one. Makes no sense to me :confused3 Now after venting I feel MUCH better. Well almost I'm still sad the Tiki Room will be closed during our visit. :rotfl:

You are correct. You cannot book a king bed at lots of Disney resorts. The reason is there aren't that many at most resorts. We need more four and five sleepers than kings. Only resorts that have a large number of king beds have an actual category you can book. So, if you MUST have a king bed, you need to book at only resorts that you can actually book that category.

When you check in, ask them if you got a king bed. If not, tell them you really want one and would be willing to do a room change later during your vacation when one becomes available or you would be willing to move to the YC if one becomes available quicker over there. I will attempt to get you numbers on how many king beds are in each category. However, I don't think that will help you alot.

If you want a guaranteed king bed at the BC, the only way would be to change your reservation to the one bedroom suite ... you'll be guaranteed a king bed for sure then.

Just got off the phone with the surgeon. Good news and bad news.

Bad: One of the margins showed cancer cells so I have to have another surgery. Testing is 3/28 and surgery on 3/29.

Good: I do NOT have to go on that crazy cancer drug for five years. No hot flashes!!!!!!

Bob's really upset and I am too but I'm concentrating on the good news instead.

I'm sorry about the second surgery Teena. I've never been through it, so I can't understand what it's like. However, if you don't have to take the drug, (I am aware of it. My hair dresser is on it. Ohh the hot flashes...) That to me sounds like fabulous news. I would think you'd have to have a very good prognosis to not be given that. Am I close???

She said it's non-invasive, grade 0, yep ... that's good news as long as they get it all out! And then 6 weeks of radiation and then mammos with my surgeon at Mayo every 6 months. Definitely good news.

I agree on this!!
On booking a king @ POFQ, that was where we had our issue! We booked a king room, almost a year in advance and when we checked in, no go. Not happy.:confused3

Sounds like they have a handle on it though and they are hunting it down with a vengeance. I think it's a really good sign that they are able to narrow down your treatment options post surgery. You are almost there so don't get down! It's going to be a little bumpy but you know you are in good hands so try to keep faith that everything will be handled well and you will get to that place where all of this is behind you.

You are almost there and they are being very careful!

I wish you the best. Keep your chin up and think of all the good things coming your way.

PS. One for Bob too --->

Teena, I like your positive outlook and that you see the good. I will continue to pray for your good health and the upcoming surgery. I will be sorry that we won't be seeing you but I will try to leave a little something at the desk.

No hot flashes, that is good news, no cancer drugs...even better!!!

Oh Teena, I've been thinking about you! I was about to reply to your previous message but decided to check if you posted again. Sorry to hear that you have to have another surgery, but hopefully that is the last one!! Continued hug, prayers and positive thoughts your way...:grouphug:

Teena- sorry you are going to have another surgery, hopefully the last one and no medications is definately good news...continuing to keep you in my thoughts:goodvibes

Teena, while it wasn't 100% the best news, and going through another surgery is a drag, you got very great news considering that it's noninvasive and 0 grade. At least it will be over soon, but I'm sorry that means we won't get to meet you on our trip. Well, I guess we have to save something for the next trip, so I hope to meet you sometime later this year (maybe F&W).

I'm mostly a lurker here. Just wanted to say, that your "good" is definitely a silver lining... my mother is on the 5 year medication after her surgery and chemo. She's not keen on it, to say the least.

Sending good vibes and well-wishes for a smooth surgery and speedy recovery.

Teena, Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Best of luck with the second surgery and hoping they get it all so there will be no more surgeries for you. So happy you don't have to have the 5 year meds.

Robyn, Keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Wishing your mom good luck with her surgery tomorrow.

Blessings to you Tina from up here in the frigid Northeast!!

I'm sorry to hear about your need for a second surgery but God willing this is the last one!! Your attitude is uplifting and is what will help you through the difficult times.

Warmest of regards!! Before you know it this will all be behind you.

Jay

More hugs, kisses, and prayers coming your way, Teena!

Just got back yesterday. Had a great time! Keep in mind, it had been a little over a decade since we stayed at the Beach Club and we were pleased that they continue to strive to maintain the Deluxe level. We are a family of 5 & had a Garden View reserv. The only request we had was 'not ground level'. We ended up on the side by Epcot (which we loved) and a full balcony on 2nd floor. The CM said we should have a good room since I was celebrating my 40th bday.:thumbsup2 Maybe it was because we checked in so early (10am)

1st time things I tried & loved- WISHES fireworks, Tower of Terror, Mission Space, Expedition Everest, Soarin, Peach Snap at China- Joy of Tea stand, plum wine at Japan, beer at Germany, Norway & France bakeries, Teppan Edo dinner at Japan, Chefs De France dinner at France(of course),Visa Rewards character pictures at Inventions in Epcot, dole whip, pink refillable mug, the showers in the Ship Shape fitness center, the side door to Epcot(due to our room location), ice cream stand right inside the Dolphin, I volunteered to be in the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular at HS:upsidedow

Cons: not meeting Teena. (but I got my pin- Thanks:) ) the room - integrity & wall dust. The bed- but it must just be me from what I've read here.(it may be b/c we had a really great room at the Gaylord Palm 4 nights prior to BC.)
Pros: LOCATION, The room - location, full balcony, double sink area in bathroom, & frig. I bought a refill mug & refilled at the Marketplace & Hurricane Hannahs. Stormalong Bay and the sun loungers on the beach!(I could really relax when I didn't feel like hearing kids), Captains Grille breakfast buffet
A couple of notes: We had a 'magic moment' at AK. When we got to Expedition Everest last Fri afternoon, the wait was an hr. We were discussing this and a CM walked up and said he would like to give us a 'magic moment' & he took us to the front of the line!:cool1:
I was worried about the walk to HS(finding it and length), but it was a nice walk and easy to find. Thanks for all the help at the beginning of this board. We just really love the boardwalk area & Epcot, so this is a great fit for us.

Teena,

Focus on the positive... Good news is that we should be able to meet you on the 27th!!! Also I noticed our Meijers here is selling moon pies - if I remember they are one of the things you miss... But I forgot what flavors you like- can't guarantee that we will have them but we can always try...

Keeping you & Robin's mom in our prayers...

I PM'ed you but got my answer here. Grade 0 is FANTASTIC News. Oh Teena you are going to be more than fine. Are you religious? As I told you in a PM I so feel my biblical devotions to quotes honestly cured me in the hospital . Sorry that my surgeon had to open me up, hmmmm realize nothing was there, and stitch me back up confused b/c the MRI told him differently. I can PM you some of my favorite biblical devotions if you don't have them regarding healing...It puts you in such a positive mindset...

Teena, I am sorry that you have to have another surgery but I really admire your spirit! We will all be thinking of you!

Teena- I'm happy to hear that you won't have to be on any cancer drugs or have major surgery-
one good thing about being at the BC, is that you'll have plenty of 'dissers' to talk to that know about your health issues and can keep your mind off of it for a while (at least while your at work)
