As promised, I wanted to add some pictures of the view from our room at BC Room 4571. This was on the top floor and was one of the best rooms that we have ever stayed at on property. However, there was ongoing construction the week we were there that included scraping of paint and loud machinery.

Thank you so much for posting these! Was this considered a water view or a garden view room?

Thanks to everyone for their good wishes. My mom is scheduled for yet another surgery tomorrow - to take out the cement pacers and put in new ones. They are hoping that is the sources of the infection. She has not responded to the antibiotics so far and has sepsis. Please keep us in your prayers.

Teena - sending you good thoughts and hoping for good news for you today!

Is it July yet?

Hey girl ... hang in there and please give your Mom my best! I hope I hear something today ... I'm not good at waiting!

Robyn- I hope your mom's surgery goes smoothly tomorrow and that it aids to a speedy recovery for her!

Teena- I hope you get your phone call sooner rather than later :wizard:

Thanks to woodleygrrl for posting the construction pics. We stayed at the GF during one of their big exterior rehabs and it wasn't terrible (although not ideal). Are both YC and BC being done?

Wishing your Mom all the best tomorrow with her surgury

Teena, we're all thinking of you today!

Robyn, your mom is in our prayers.

MickeyT, so excited for you! :) I love planning extra trips with a great AP deal. We initially planned to take two trips with our APs and that turned into four! Ours just expired last week, but we may get them again for 2013-14. Have a great time!!

As for BC CM gifts, it's good to see this addressed here. I've seen threads elsewhere with misinformation regarding this topic, so thanks to everyone who contributed to the discussion here. In addition to gifts, you can also contact Disney (see the address Dee posted on the first page) to detail positive experiences with CMs who really stand out during your trip. We do this after each trip and we always hope that the outstanding CMs we write about receive recognition.

We are in the process of planning a trip in August. We have stayed at both YC & BC, standard view rooms. I would rather have BC, but we really want to get a king bed.
Right now the options available are YC garden view, water view, standard view club, or BC water view, or standard view club. I wished they had BC garden view or lower available to save some money as the view isn't really important to us, but the bed is. Any input on which is our best chance to get a king bed?
Thanks!:)

I am sorry for your mother's health issues and hope she improves soon. We'll keep your family in our prayers.

i would think if having a king bed is that important, you might want to go to one of the resorts where you can book a room with a king bed specifically. At this resort it seems that the king bed is few and far between for the regular rooms. I will say my brother had one last December when we had a waterview room adjoining his (we were envious). Good luck and hope the Disney room-assigner gods are smiling on you. As Teena has often said, if you want to guarantee a king bed at the BC/YC, you need to book a deluxe CL room.

I'm pretty sure most, if not all, the deluxe cl rooms have two queens. They ALL have daybeds which might be what Katesdad was thinking about.

You would think that would work right? I've stayed at YC,BC,CR, Dolphin, & POFQ. The one place that I could book a king room, I did and when we showed up, they said "oh you have a credit on your account you overpaid." To which I said "no, I didn't", and then I realized the amount was equal to the charge for a king room, and they said they didn't have one for me after all. Everyplace else we always got a king room.

Oh, that makes sense.

I agree ... however, the only king bed guarantee is in a one bedroom suite. A deluxe CL room will guarantee you two queens and a daybed.

Robyn- I hope all goes well during your mom's surgery tomorrow. I'm sure your family is ready for her to be on the right road to recovery.

Teena- thinking good thoughts for you today. Fingers (and toes) crossed for you!

Just got off the phone with the surgeon. Good news and bad news.

Bad: One of the margins showed cancer cells so I have to have another surgery. Testing is 3/28 and surgery on 3/29.

Good: I do NOT have to go on that crazy cancer drug for five years. No hot flashes!!!!!!

Bob's really upset and I am too but I'm concentrating on the good news instead.

Teena, The good and the bad, is just part of it and you know that, I agree you should concentrate on the good. Prayers your way and hugs too :grouphug:

Blessings to you Tina from up here in the frigid Northeast!!

I'm sorry to hear about your need for a second surgery but God willing this is the last one!! Your attitude is uplifting and is what will help you through the difficult times.

Warmest of regards!! Before you know it this will all be behind you.

I hope you get some pixie dust and are able to get a king bed. That's the most important thing for us too.
I asked almost the same question on here and am still confused lol. I just wanted to know how many king rooms are in each category so we could book the category that would give us the best chance. DH has a Cpap and back problems so the extra room is really important for us both to be able to sleep. Someone suggested two queen beds but this is our 3rd anniversary trip so we would really like to sleep in the same bed.

This is our first deluxe stay and we REALLY want to try the BC. Does anyone know if we could request to be moved to the YC if we can't get a king bed at the BC?

I am learning alot more on the DIS boards but still think It's a little difficult to undersatnd. I can book a king bed at POFQ and am guaranteed that room type. I can book a king at a few :confused3 of the deluxe resorts but at most it's luck of the draw? I can also book a king at Country Inn and Suites or Holiday Inn but Disney can't guarantee one. Makes no sense to me :confused3 Now after venting I feel MUCH better. Well almost I'm still sad the Tiki Room will be closed during our visit. :rotfl:
