Teena,
Have a wonderful visit with Jeanne. I know you must be very excited to do the extra shopping this trip for the baby.

Enjoy the children in the classroom as well :).

Teena, you are in my thoughts and prayers. How very good of you to share your experience with us through Dee. Such great advice for everyone. We are lucky to have choice in our country, aren't we?

Have fun shopping and safe travels.

Teena- You will be in my thoughts, I am happy you went to the Mayo Clinic and found better doctors and help.
Have a safe and wonderful trip to see your daughter in Vegas.

Teena, Thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery! My sister in law just went through this last year, so I know how important it is to have a good team of doctors behind you. Take very good care of yourself, soon you'll have a grandchild that needs spoiling!:goodvibes

Early this year, Teena was diagnosed with breast cancer. Thankfully, due to early detection from her annual mammogram, this was caught very early. The cancer is non-invasive at this time, very treatable and the prognosis is excellent! Teena said it was ok to share this information with everyone, especially since she has some important advice to give. Over the past few weeks, Teena has undergone many tests and has spoken to a number of doctors. She was really getting the runaround when she was seeing a doctor in a local hospital who was not a specialist in the field of breast cancer. She was receiving a lot of misinformation and confusing treatment suggestions, so she decided to get a second opinion at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville this past week. Although the hospital is significantly further from her home than the first hospital, she has been getting a much better response and encouraging news about her treatment plan. The Mayo Clinic even found that one of the pathology results that came back positive at her local hospital was in fact benign. She really wants to stress the importance of being comfortable with the doctor who is treating you and to see an expert/specialist if at all possible.

Teena will be visiting with her daughter in Las Vegas next week and when she returns, she will have a couple more visits to the Mayo for additional tests and retests, and surgery likely in mid-March.

I’m sure she would appreciate well-wishes as she goes through this process, but I know she is not looking for any sympathy or pity from anyone.

Thanks for listening and for your support!

Teena, my sister, I know what you are going through. I have been there (with different results) and made it to the other side. It will soon be three years. I am here to support you in any way I can. Please feel free to PM me with any questions or concerns.

Looking forward to seeing you at YC in August.

We always request to stay on the ground floor and were able have that request fulfilled even with a standard room. Since the re-categorization of the rooms we will have to book a garden room or better now, correct?

I want to maximize my chances for a first floor room. :goodvibes Thanks!

What does one do for breakfast at the BC?

Is The Marketplace the usual drill? I know there is Cape May, I am wondering about just regular up, grab a bite, out to the parks kind of days. Marketplace looks kind of small...

My only other experiences were Roaring Forks at WL and the Sassagoulla place at POFQ...is the Marketplace that kind of thing?

Thanks!

I don't know what most people plan on, but it's my intention to visit Boardwalk Bakery as much as humanly possible while at the Beach Club. Then, I'll simply take the bus from the Boardwalk over to Animal Kingdom or Magic Kingdom, walk to Epcot, or take the boat to Hollywood Studios.

Hmm... that's a good idea! I hadn't thought of bus hopping to the parks from the Boardwalk area. Can any one fill us in on what the Boardwalk Bakery is like in the AM hours? When does it open and when do the lines become IMPOSSIBLE like I've read about from other posters.

Nom, nom, nom!!!

I just booked our trip at the BC for Dec. We are so excited!! The hard part is going to keep it a secret until then. Is it usally warm in Dec? We went at that time frame in '08 and it was 70-80 deg but I think it was just a warm spell? We'd hope that the kids would be able to swim at the pool. Can't wait...

I don't know what the temperatures are normally like, but I know it was downright cold December 2009 and I was thankful I did not go in 2010, because it looked like the weather reports said it was just as cold.

Hopefully it won't be as cold as NC gets. As long as its in 50's or 60's that'll be ok. If it's colder then I guess we just walk faster!

Dismom72,

That's a riot....I'm familiar with Stewartstown! My grandparents lived in West Manchester township (York) all their lives. We used to take many trips down Route 74 to 24 through there, ironically to get corn, tomatoes, fruit, and such :)
Talk about a small world!

That is funny! It is a small world! We've been here for about 17 years now and couldn't imagine living anywhere else (except Disney World of course :thumbsup2)

I posted this over on the cake thread but I thought that YC/BC thread readers might be interested too. This was the fine work of private dining at YC/BC and was delivered to the YSH for my son's birthday. Thought they did a great job. It was actually last August but never got around to posting it.

We did the Poly over Christmas 2007 and it was great weather...tank tops on Christmas day! It is all luck in my book but it certainly has a better chance than here in Cleveland :rotfl2:. I will take those chances!

Good luck with the secret....we did this once and it was hard but so fun when it was the morning of our trip and they were shocked.....so fun!:scared1::banana:

If I could ask, how much does something like this cost? A $$ range would be fine. Also how did you go about doing this? Did they show you pictures before hand or did you just give them a general idea and they whipped this up. Is there such a thing as a "cake catalog"? Also where is the cake thread?

Thanks for your help...

Here are some pic's from the Y&B Club Picture thread of the Marketplace food. Should be fine if you like continetal type breakfast. (Thanks again Dee)

The Captains Grill serves a buffet at the YC if you like a little (or a lot) more food w/o the characters.

Ok. And here is our little secret. Marketplace is small but there is a wonderful sitting area right around the corner...The Solarium. Wicker table and chairs. Here are a few pic's.

We have sat in there and enjoyed our pastries and coffee early in the AM.

YC Fan- that cake is awesome!!!

Here's another masterpiece created by the YC master bakers. Had to be careful typing that!

This post is from page 55 of the previous thread. Echo queen said she ordered it 7 days in advance from private dining. Cakes can be delivered to the resorts but delivery to the theme parks is extremely limited.

We were celebrating my sons 12 birthday. Here is the wonderful cake that was ordered through private dining at the yacht club bakery.
