Here are some pic's from the Y&B Club Picture thread of the Marketplace food. Should be fine if you like continetal type breakfast. (Thanks again Dee)

The Captains Grill serves a buffet at the YC if you like a little (or a lot) more food w/o the characters.

Ok. And here is our little secret. Marketplace is small but there is a wonderful sitting area right around the corner...The Solarium. Wicker table and chairs. Here are a few pic's.

We have sat in there and enjoyed our pastries and coffee early in the AM.

Thank you so much for the info! That Solarium does look like a great room....:thumbsup2

We always request to stay on the ground floor and were able have that request fulfilled even with a standard room. Since the re-categorization of the rooms we will have to book a garden room or better now, correct?

I want to maximize my chances for a first floor room. :goodvibes Thanks!

You're right, most of the rooms on the first floor (if not all) are garden or water.

Thanks so much for all the well wishes. After a rough start, now with the Mayo Clinic, I'm really feeling positive. I'm sure the next few months with surgery and radiation won't be a picnic but compared to what the local surgeon was going to do, this will be a walk in the park ... a Disney park of course!

Happy Valentine's Day, friends!!!

Thanks again to all of the people who are keeping the guest lists for the front page. I think there are still a couple of months up for grabs, so if you are going during one of those times, let me know if you want to be the "keeper of the list" A snazzy title with absolutely no monetary compensation!

I will be away from 2/21 to 2/28, so I will send around a reminder on Friday to request updated lists by either Saturday or Sunday so I can post those before I go.

Did I mention I was going away in a week??? :woohoo:

Have fun Dee!!! Pixarmom left the BC yesterday. I miss that family already!! She said she completed all her picture assignments for you so be prepared!

So guys, I'm leaving 2/15 - 2/24 so I'll check the boards tonight after work and tomorrow before leaving for the airport and then I'll only have sporadic computer access at Jeanne's.

My family and I will be at YC from March 12 - March 18. :cool1: I don't think that I've ever looked forward to staying at a resort as much as I am looking forward to staying at YC. Only 26 more days to go!

Hi all, I love reading all the posts! It's been about 10 years or more since I was at Disney and we are currently booked at the Beach Club for May 31-June 7. We upgraded to club level last week and was wondering if I could submit room requests to the club level concierge (mainly, we have a 2 yr old and would like to request a full size balcony, rather than standing if at all possible) or would I send those requests elsewhere?

Thanks!
Jenn

If I could ask, how much does something like this cost? A $$ range would be fine. Also how did you go about doing this? Did they show you pictures before hand or did you just give them a general idea and they whipped this up. Is there such a thing as a "cake catalog"? Also where is the cake thread?

Thanks for your help...

Marlton Mom

Hi Marlton Mom!

I gave them a $200 budget but I was very specific about what I wanted. I wanted the cake to look like Space Mountain and be covered in fondant. The bottom layer was to be Carolina Blue since his favorite team is the UNC Tarheels. It was a 10" bottom layer with a 6" layer on top that Space Mountain was built around so it is actually a two tier cake. I also asked for no chocolate because my son WILL NOT eat chocolate!!:headache: Doesn't like it at all! They made a VERY delicious white cake with vanilla mousse filling that was so moist and actually one of the best cakes we've ever had. I just called private dining and told them we were dining at YSH and they took care of everything. The pastry chef brought it out to the table and my son was thrilled!!!!

We've asked for a pirate themed cake for our trip in May and by the looks of the cake posted by Echo queen we won't be disappointed in that one either!

Have a good trip Teena. Our prayers are with you.

This may have been covered but if I want Internet in my room (my resv. is for BC garden view), do I just order Internet access at checkin?(I believe it is $9.99daily) Has anyone used it? I assume I will have to bring a cable to plug in for access. Thanks!

Enjoy your time with your daughter! Have a wonderful time!

I ordered the internet for our trip in Dec, when I checked in they told me that I would be charged on a daily basis, since it is for a 24 hour period. I logged on every morning before I left for the parks and again at the end of the day- You can't order it ahead of time and the price was $9.99 for the 24 hours. The last day I had service until 10am (from the dqy before) when I checked out.

There is a bag hanging in the closet that has the cable that you will need, it is a long cable. I was able to plug it in at the desk and use my laptop from the bed.

Teena,

I hope you have a wonderful time with your daughter.

I will be at BCV Feb 24 - Mar 1. Will you be there any of those days. One of the top things on my to do list was to meet you! I hope it happens!!
