Does anyone know if the BC will deliver a cake to the room while we are out and leave it as a surprise for when we get back for our midday break? or will they deliver it if i call when we get back? I was thinking of having somehting in the room for my son as we will be there on his birthday. We are doing MK rope drop, break, Ohana's for dinner (his pick) and back to MK (considering adding on the wishes dessert party, but not sure. Opinions on that??) Still feel like I need a cake being he's only turning 7, but having a cake at Ohana and then going to the park doesn't seem easy. so back to my original question...will BC deliver a cake to the room and leave it as a surprise or will they deliver it when I call?
thanks for any help.
I have been on here in the past when we have been to BC, I don't post much, but i stay up to date on the posts. this board is the best!

Yes - we had a cake delivered to our room at BC. We were supposed to have the cake on the Illuminations Cruise but it was so humid out that they recommended that we have the cake in the room instead. We also have
had one delivered to our room at the GF. Both times they had everything set up and waiting for us.

We're thinking about staying at the Yacht Club during our trip in October as we have never stayed there before.

Any room suggestions? Or any requests we should make once we would book a room?

We are thinking abou booking a Water/Pool View room.

Thanks!

We've stayed at YC in a waterview room twice. We always (requested) and got 1st floor, facing Crescent Lake, near the laundry room. I asked for near the laundry room because there is a doorway leading outside right there so you don't have to go through the Main Lobby just to get out to the pool.

Pixarmom - the waves in the pool at TL are really big! I can't compare them to Newport Beach , but my DH was with my kids the whole time and he was still nervous ( they were 12 and 8 at the time). The pool gets so crowded, and it's easy to lose your bearings when those waves hit. They loved it but I can't imagine them out there without an adult keeping tabs on them.

Hey y'all so I was wondering if there were any rooms that were in view of the lounge at the YC (CL)? We were hoping to take along the baby monitor and put the kids down and sneak out to the lounge so we didn't have to go to bed at 8 every night? However if I cant see he room I'm not sure how comfortable I will be with this plan.

We only stayed at YC CL once (usually stay BC CL) but I don't remember any rooms like that.

I think your best best would be to get something from the lounge and sit out on the balcony. It's fun to watch everything going on, and in my experience, my kids were completely exhausted at night and fell asleep as soon as their heads hit the pillow.

Another reason I wouldn't be comfortable doing this is last summer when we were there we were awakened early in the morning by the fire alarm going off and we had to evacuate the hotel. It was
scary enough for us as adults with our children, I can't imagine how scary it would be for a child waking
up to this alone.

Awww, I had no idea there were so many preemie moms lurking about. :) My ODS was born at 26 1/2 weeks at 2 lbs 5 oz -- We'll be at BC for his 8th birthday in June. Here's a link to a flickr pic of my big guy: http://www.flickr.com/photos/stevensevchuk/5609785755/in/set-72157626351357115/
:lovestruc My poor kid, fell over the couch & landed just so & broke his forearm. Fortunately he should be well healed by our vacation.

The twins were preemie too, but at 30w 5d & 3lbs 8oz each, they were not nearly as small & sick as ODS was & now I have a hard time thinking of them as preemie, whereas my oldest will always be my preemie, at least in my heart.

I had preemi twins too :) Boy and girl at 28 weeks . Were 1 kg on birth !!! Energetic but still tiny !! I am so looking forward to their first visit to disney this June
:yay:

I have a question on the robes in CL rooms...
We are staying at YC CL...first time at YC & first time in CL room.
The robes are already in the rooms right? We get 2 adult ones? Do they have kid sizes? I am thinking they might be nice to walk down to the pool at night or during the day rather than a cover up.
Thanks!
The robes are in the room hanging in the closet. There are two adult-sized robes. I have never seen kids'-sized robes in any CL rooms, but perhaps they can be requested:confused3. You could email the IPO and ask them.

thanks for the heads up on the dessert party Robyn, we have done it 3 times and enjoy it too! Now to figure out when to do it this trip...

Years ago the GF used to have kids sized robes, but no longer.

Sorry, but no kids sized robes at BC/YC CL either - although I think it's a great idea!

Hi Jennifer!

I'm feeling great about our no-cabana decision! Thanks for the post! Our youngest is the one who puts his toe in the ocean and that's it (HIGHLY unusual in our family!) The older boys are another story - we'll need to remind them that this will be like the ocean so they don't get overconfident. Can you compare it to the local waves? I assumed it would be like Newport waves around 15th Street on a yellow flag day, but now I'm thinking it might be more like the Wedge!

These are serious waves at TL. Fortunately, there is a bell or horn of some sort that sounds when the next one comes. The waves aren't all the same size, either.

Local waves in NB in the summer are no where near this level! My youngest was just 4 last summer and she was terrified. She would not let me walk in the sandy area where all the lounge chairs are located just outside of the wave pool area because she thought the waves would come up and get her there. Try explaining that to a 4 year old that the sand wasn't even wet and that no one would be lounging in the area if the waves could reach them!

The fireworks dessert part is at the MK. It is the area by the Tomorrow Land Noodle Station. They do a really nice dessert buffet and you get reserved tables and a great view of the fireworks and Tinkerbelle flies right over you! We've done it one night each trip. It's a great way to not have to sit on the curb for two hours and the desserts are just an added treat.

You make an ADR through Disney dining. You do need to pay the whole thing is advance though.

HTH.

Thanks, Robyn. Do you know if they give AP discounts?

Wow, have just spent the last few days catching up on more than 150 pages since I last had time to read the boards. I am a teacher and am currently on our Easter holidays so I have spent the last few days reading everything, can't belive how much has been going on.

Health Issues - So glad seems like everyone's health issues are looking up

Peanut - Congrats to you Teena and Jeanne on the forthcoming arrival of Peanut, was all set to predict 18th July and a Princess but then read about the Caesarean but at least it allows you to plan your trips in advance. Hope it all goes well.

CL v non CL - got to add myself to the CL gang, first time BC CL though have been
to the BC many times

Mankini - :scared1:

Views/Room choices - thrilled to hear that the GV CL BC rooms all have full balconies but as there are 5 of us so bit disappointed to read (I think) that none of the GV CL rooms have a day bed. We have always had the daybed in prev stays, does anyone have a pic of the rollaway?

Laundry - Am from the UK where all washers are front loading but what the heck is HE and why do I need it??

Thanks everyone for giving me something so funny/interesting/moving to read in the garden during the last few boiling hot sunny days here in London (it has been 75 degrees here all week which is unheard of normally at this time of year!!)

Roll on 18th Aug, hoping to meet Teena sometime during our stay. We will be the English family with 3 girls (including a teenage daughter who will be walking a few paces ahead of the rest of us as we are SO embarassing) :dance3:

I put your guess for Peanut's arrival onto the first page. There are others who have guessed after the expected arrival date was revealed- I have asterisked those guesses like the Hall of Fame does for record holders who are suspected of steroid use. No offense meant.:banana::banana:

HE- High Efficiency It is recommended that we use HE laundry detergent for front loader washers.

I so hear you on the teenager! Although at Disney ours still associates with us somewhat- may be due to the fact that none of his friends are around.

Not sure about YC, but I asked about the child sizes at BC and a CL CM confirmed that they only have one adult size. Robes were not in our room when we checked in, but they arrived shortly after I called the CL desk to request them!

Aha! THAT'S where our spring went!!! We have been having English weather all spring with cold and dreary temps punctuated with prodigious amounts of rain!!

New Jersey in the States called! We want our weather back!

Well maybe you can keep it until the WEDDING is over..... then could you please send it back?

Smoochies, :love2:

Marlton Mom

Thanks to jmamom and Jennb for the additional information regarding the TL wave pool - I think our youngest will steer clear and one of us will be sure to stick with our older boys. The comparison to NB helps for our TL ground rules discussion. Thanks again!

Others might like these but my experience at BWI CL and YC CL is these are those waffle thin kind of robes. NOTHING remotely nice in my opinion...I pictured those plush luxurious robes - NOT!

It seems several of you have experiences with the Wishes Dessert party--Is it worth it? I hope the answer is yes because I am so excited for it. Now that July has been released, I am holding out for August. I already talked to IPO and they are going to make my reservations when/if the August dates open up. I know this is not a BC question but what can you tell me about the party?

Page 1 indicates that there is daily USA delivery. Does this mean left outside your door or it is available for purchase somewhere? It is a must have for DH.

At the Contemporary, Polynesian, Wilderness Lodge and Boardwalk Inn we always got it left outside the door to our room. So it would be the same at the Yacht Club and Beach Club.
