Check page one of this thread. Dee has it all listed with prices and locations.

With appologies to Dee, here's the page one data:
Laundry Information

Self-service laundry rooms are located near the BC quiet pool and near the YC quiet pool. Another small laundry room may be found on the first floor of the YC, near the side exit (wedding gazebo side).

Washers are High Efficiency machines.

Both washers and dryers cost $2.00. Washers run for about 30 minutes. The sign in the laundry room says the dryers run for 20. Users have reported the dryers run for up to 30 minutes on regular and permanent press cycles.

Valet Laundry Service is also available for an additional charge. Price List for laundry services available in resort rooms.

I know the locations and prices, I was just wondering how many washers and dryers are there in the laundry room. Sorry if I was not clear in my question. I read on an older thread that the laundry rooms get pretty crowded and I wanted to plan accordingly:)

In 2002 we stayed in the Wilderness Lodge in September when it was still (surprisingly to us) ROASTING HOT :furious: in Florida. (Duh!)

Between the heat and having a 4 year old we did not know to bring 2 changes of clothes per day and we would up having to do laundry mid way through the trip. The laundry room at the Wilderness Lodge was INSANE!!! About 1/2 the machines were malfunctioning, the dryers took forever and the line to do laundry was out the door!

DH is responsible for laundry in our house so he ventured down a couple of times before finally getting a machine at 4:30 in the morning!

Now I'm sure if the Beach Club was that bad somebody would have posted about their negative experience, but I've never seen a post like that for the Beach Club.... So I'm not gonna worry about it..... and besides, we can always run over to the Wilderness lodge and relive that laundry nightmare if the lines are too long at the BC! :scared1:

Wow - amazingly quick responses, Dee and Robyn! Thank you so much!

Good advice - we'll pass on the cabanas/umbrellas. We really only need one chair with a little shade anyway because we'll all be in the water most of the time just like at SAB. (I'm not sure who we thought would be lounging in the midst of all this!) If anyone has additional tips, please let me know. (Edited to add: Dee - thank you so much for your e-mail!! I'm not sure what's left to learn!)

I think TL will be a good fit for us. The wave pool is a big draw for our boys - we usually go to Newport Beach, CA in August and we're missing it this year to try the cruise. So they are very used to big waves, and it sounds like they will really enjoy this! (Our youngest, however, will put his toe in the Pacific and that's about it - he's adventurous everywhere but the ocean, and I guess that's a good thing!)

Thanks again!

Pixarmom - We just had a bad experience at TL because it was just one of those days where everything went wrong. I'd go back in a heartbeat for DH once WAS enough! So we stick with BB, but we love it there too!

I got the best deal on the waterparks EVER!!! Years ago DH was running a marathon. It was "between" APs so we just got 7 day passes. They were doing a promotion where the waterparks and more option was free. I added "No expiration" to the passes. I think at that time it was $50 to add the option. So for $250 I got 7 days of waterparks for 5 people! We are still using them. Of course DH didn't really understand the Disney Math, so he just thought I was spending more money. I never forget to remind him every time we go to the waterparks what a great deal I got!!!!

That is really impressive "Disney math!" We're in between APs now, too, and I'm thinking about ticket options. We haven't done water parks (again with the River Country mourning) so I need to add these ideas to the mix and be creative!

P.S. Did I mention that I loved River Country?

Thats not right, so sorry. My daughter was born premature at 26 weeks, she was one pound/10 ounces. She was in the NICU for 3 months. She is a strong girl (now 8 years old). She was born early due to her twin sister. Lost her twin after 4 hours. Here's a picture of our family, she is obviously the beautifil girl with the glasses.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Your not-so-little girl looks so healthy and happy! She is very lucky considering how tiny she was. Mine was huge in comparison at 5.4 pounds at 34 weeks. I can't imagine going back and forth to the NICU everyday for 3 months. It must have been both exciting and scary to finally bring her home.

I hope you can soon take more wonderful photos at WDW:goodvibes

Just wanted to let any July BC/YC Dissers know that the Fireworks Dessert Party ADRs opened up for July today.

We've done it twice so far and this is on my dd's "must do" list.

Marlton Mom - The laundry room at BC is usually not too bad. I try to go at off times. Even with my over packing - 5 people, 17 SUMMER days, I still do laundry. I'm impressed - I'm not sure my DH even knows where the washer is! His job is to take the kids to the quiet pool while I do laundry!
We get a table and I'm in and out of the laundry room.

How hard is it to get a room that has a daybed in it? I will be staying at the BC for the first time and have a standard view room booked for the first week in July.

I'm really glad you all are commenting on this - we don't typically do laundry while on vacation, as we don't have kids - but with the new luggage per-bag charges.... I might be packing some travel sized he detergent this time around!:thumbsup2

BC washers are front loaders now - so pack some HE detergent!

I hope they don't smell bad like ours do. Ugh. I "clean" it according to directions every month and we STILL have that icky moldy smell.:headache:

Not that I'm saying I want washboards to come back in style... but sometimes technology doesn't get it quite right...

Do they sell HE detergent there?

We stayed YC last year, and I brought along the Purex Wash/Dry sheets....but I found they left an OIL like spot on certain pieces of clothes. this year at BC I planned on just purchasing what was available in the laundry.

both of you are in better shape than me..................I not only went down to the pool with DD, but then left to start clothes, went back to pool, left to dry clothes, all the while DH was doing some work in the room!! for the first few days I felt so bad for him having to help his customers while on vacation, but then I realized he probably LOVED the peace and quiet of the room all by himself:lmao:

I ordered the HE detergent from garden grocer so I'm not sure what they have in the machine.

I didn't notice any smell, but of course the washers were new then. At home I use that special Tide HE washer cleaner. You run it through the cycle once a week or so and we've never had the "dreaded front loader smell".

Here's a funny laundry story. I 2003 we took the youngest ones to Disney for the first time. We stayed at the Grand Floridian. I wasn't even thinking to pack two outfits a day! No one told us there even WAS a laundry room at the GF. I was paying to have everything drycleaned - even the little socks and underwear! Eventually we figured it was cheaper (even with Disney prices) to just buy more socks and underwear than to have them drycleaned!!!! The next year I really over packed but then we found the
GF's laundry room.

My vote is for:
Princess July 6 (My B-Day!)

Thanks to a AP discount I will be staying 1, yes 1 fabulous night at the YC July 16 before we check into our timeshare on July 17. But hey at least we have all day on Sunday to enjoy SAB in the July HEAT since last time I was at YC was the Record Breaking FREEZING temperatures this past December...

Hi! I have tried to keep up with this thread, but I just can't check in often enough to keep up with everything!

Our trip is in just less than two weeks, and I am so excited!

Unfortunately, we have a little situation to deal with now. My mom was having some really bad foot pain, so she went to the doctor and it turns out that she somehow fractured her tibia and didn't even know it! The doctor has her in an inflatable boot that goes up to her knee and she is not supposed to put any weight on that leg for the next few weeks. We talked about trying to postpone our trip, but Mom wants to go on as planned. She is going to have to rent an ECV to get around. She is really nervous about using it, but I have tried to reassure her. I definitely didn't tell her about all the jerks on the disboards who complain about ECV's in the parks! So, now I am wondering about having the ECV in her room at the BC. Will an ECV fit in a standard room at the BC? Do we need to try to request a handicapped room for her? I feel so bad for her because she feels like she is going to put a damper on our trip, but I have told her that we have to move more slowly than in past trips because we have DD now, anyway, and we are just glad that she and my dad can still come.

So, if anyone has any tips on WDW and BC with an ECV, I'd love to hear them!

I don't really know the answer to this- if you are a family of 5 (all over age 3), you should get a room with a daybed, but otherwise it is just a request.

If you don't get a room with a daybed, you can request a rollaway cot at no charge.

What is up with that?! I didn't really know it was a widespread problem, but I have that too. I buy that Tide cleaner that Robyn mentioned but I am too cheap to use it on a regular basis. Maybe I should start.

Welcome back! Glad you have another stay, although it is quick. Did you read that Teena spent last night at the Beach Club with her family so they could have a couple of days enjoying SAB?

I'm still pulling out your photos on occasion when someone has a question. Thanks again for taking and sharing such detailed shots!

Sorry to hear about your mom's foot! Sounds like she is being a trooper!

Due to the configuration differences in the rooms at this resort, I think some rooms are more likely to fit an ECV than others- maybe you could mention this on your reservation.

People have been advised to charge the scooters overnight in your room, not in the hallway. There are limited outlets, so if you leave yours to charge, you may find that someone else has unplugged it to use the outlet and your scooter will not be ready when you expect it to be.

There are a couple of phone numbers for rental places in the FAQ section, page 1.

If you have not checked out the DIS disability forums yet, that might be a good place to spend a little time time today.

Good luck with your trip.

I have a bum knee that pops out every now and then , yesterday being one of those days, right now I am in my knee brace, so I to have been considering renting an ECV for my trip, I never even thought about it not fitting in the room since I have read so many accounts of people using them and staying at the values which have smaller rooms. Guess I need to go read up on this too on the disability boards

From what I have researched so far Apple Scooter seems to be one that comes highly recommended by many DISers.

Thanks to everyone for their help about the room service ?

I had another quick question. What time is beaches and cream typically open until..we are going in October!..thanks

According to the hours listed on DIS- Beaches & Cream is open from 11 am to 11 pm. I am not aware that these hours change based on time of year.
