2011/2012 Reunion Cruise?

Our friends are in town for Thanksgiving The girls are cooking dinner on Thursday so Gene, Kimberly and I may sneak over to the MK Thanksgiving morning for a couple of hours.

It looks like MK tomorrow while Annette and Becki cook dinner. That way Gene and I can get Kimberly out from under her Mom's feet.

Sadly, we are back home early from WDW. We just got home this evening. Bill re-injured his ribs on our FIRST night at WDW. We were walking down Main Street at the MK. We weren't there ten minutes when Bill had a coughing fit and felt a sharp pain in his ribs. The poor guy was almost in tears. I knew he was hurt. He took Cole onto Buzz and then they headed back to the room. I spent the Evening EMH with Will and Emily at the MK. Bill didn't want them missing out on some fun as we would probably have to leave the following morning back home. However, we couldn't get our DVC points back for the week. So, he sucked it up and we stayed until our BWV check-out date, Thanksgiving. We had Thanksgiving dinner at my Dad's Florida home in Daytona Beach and then hightailed it back home. Bill is going to Care Now tomorrow to get re-checked and to make sure he didn't do any more damage to his ribs. He took it easy on Monday - Thursday. We even rented him an ECV at Epcot on Tuesday. I have the pictures for blackmail (just kidding!). We relaxed most of Wednesday (it rained ALL day and night). We hung out at the Boardwalk, had lunch at the brewery there and let the kids play in the arcade. Then, we headed out in the evening to see the O-Light at DHS. The crowds were pretty light. I assume the rain had a lot to do with it. We walked VERY slowly that evening. So, Bill didn't need an ECV that evening. I think he also took a Vicadin before we left. I am sure that helped too.

We were able to cancel the second week at AKV and got our DVC points back. So, we plan to reschedule and return with the kids sometime in February when Bill should be healed. We are still heading back to WDW for DAP the weekend of December 11th. I am not sure how much Bill will be able to do by then. I can assume, Space Mountain will still be out of the question. I hope he's up for Toy Story Mania with all it's turns. We'll see ...

Happy belated Thanksgiving everyone!!!!!

I hope you all enjoyed your day! We ate dinner with my Dad in Daytona Beach. It was a really nice day. The sun was shining (for the first time all week!!!). My Dad even took Will and Emily out in his kayak. They had fun. While Will was out there some dolphins swam by them. That was neat. My Dad's home in on an inlet of the ocean. So, who knows what else is in that water. We had the usual turkey and the fixings. Yum! Yum!

Bill re-booked our WDW trip. As a family, we are heading back January 31st - February 5th. He's calling this our "mulligan" trip. We really enjoyed staying at the Boardwalk Villas the week of Thanksgiving that we are staying there again in Jan/Feb. The kids had a lot of fun at the pool on the Keister Coaster and the location is prime to visit Epcot and DHS. BWV has replaced BCV as my favorite DVC WDW resort. Mind you, we still haven't stayed at our home AKV or BLT. I might change my fav after those stays. We are also bringing along my nephew on the Jan/Feb trip. He was suppose to meet us this week at WDW. He was bummed we had to cancel the second week of our trip. So, Bill is bringing him along.

I called yesterday to make some ADRs for these new dates. I was shocked at what I COULD get at such a late date.

Here's what I have booked:
Le Cellier (lunch)
'Ohana (dinner)
Donald's Safari Breakfast at Tusker House at 8:05 am
Liberty Tree Tavern Character Breakfast at 8:15 am (Crystal Palace is closed)
Sci-Fi Dine-In (lunch)
The Plaza Restaurant (dinner)

These are all the restaurant I had booked for our second/cancelled week at WDW with the exception of Le Cellier. It was full the week of Thanksgiving and the first week of December. Gotta love Free Dining and holiday travelers. It messes with those of us who can't take advantage of Free Dining! I just read a promo on Room Discounts for January and February at WDW. With the way I was able to swoop in and get these ADRs, it is safe to say, we picked a slow week at WDW. That is hard to come by lately. It will surely make up for the chaos of Thanksgiving Week. We vowed NEVER AGAIN on visiting WDW the week of Thanksgiving (However, we say that ever year after being at WDW for Thanksgiving.). We have thrown the idea around on heading west next Fall/Winter. So, we can see Disneyland California all decorated for the holidays. Will and Emily really want to see the Haunted Mansion holiday verson and I want to see It's A Small World with all the Christmas lights. It looks beautiful on tv and in pictures, I want to see it for myself.

I read that Samantha Brown was in the parks in early November doing some more taping. I'm curious to see her new show. Does anyone know when it will be out? She seems to have a "passion" for Disney which makes watching her Disney travel shows more enjoyable than some other hosts (no names .. cough! ... David Bromstad! ... cough!). I'm still waiting on her to do a Disney Cruise Line show. She was at the New York press conference with DCL when they announced the names and plans for the new ships. I'm sure she has to do a DCL show sometime in the future. It's inevitable.

Bill, Cole and I hop on AA next Thursday back to WDW. It will be weird to arrive in just a few hours as opposed to the usual 19/20 hours car ride. However, with as much as we go, the cost of flights and the convenience of having our own car at WDW, we really enjoy the roadtrips to WDW. Sometimes getting there is half the fun. Is anyone else attending DAP?

Sorry to hear that you had to come home early! I know how painful rib injuries can be. I had a similar injury (also from coughing) in high school and can still remember how awful I felt.

It sounds like you have a couple of great trips planned! Congrats on getting your ADR's. I had good luck with mine, too. I'll be there the first week of March, after our cruise. I was able to get my choice of Palo reservations with no problems, thanks to being a Gold Castaway Club member. My travel agent noted that we will be celebrating Jim's 60th birthday--even though I told him I wasn't going to make a big deal out of it.

Jennifer-I'm so sorry you guys had to come back early from your vacation. I hope Bill is starting feeling better now. Congrats on getting to go back though!!

Judy-I see Stacy posting a lot of Facebook. It seems like she's still having a hard time dealing with everything. I couldn't imagine what she has been going through.

Bill and I hop on a flight tomorrow with Cole on our way back to WDW for DAP!

Will and Emily still don't know where we are going. They are under the assumption it is a business trip for Bill and we are tagging along. We assumed they were going to be absent last week from school because of our WDW trip and we didn't want them missing more school. However, as previously explained, we came back early and they were in school last week. Sadly, it was too late to add them to our DAP trip (plane ticket, room too small for our family, DAP events tickets, etc ...) So, we are still going without them. They have the WDW trip in late Jan/early Feb to look forward to.

We played the Kim Possible game at EPCOT last night. It was so much fun - lots of fun surprises!! It's great for all ages.

We did this a few summers ago when the were first "testing" it. My kids had a blast..we saw more of Epcot then ever before..they loved being guinea pigs .

For all of you have followed our family for awhile I thought that I would tell you that JoJo passed away this morning.

He has had a couple of really good weeks where he was eating well and sleeping good but this morning he started having a seizure. Shortly after making it to the ER he passed away.
