2011-2012 Boston Bruins (Offseason)

DISGUSTING!!!

I turned the radio off after the first period. Just couldn't take it anymore. Does anyone see these guys snapping out of it in the next month? I'm not sure anymore.

I was at the game yesterday. In all honesty, I think your Bruins may have peaked too early in the season. It certainly looked like a different team out there. It's never too late to get things turned around for the playoffs.

the evil jinxed hat in question!

Before I lean into the Bruins, a quick comment about NBC. Nbc really needs to reinstate their "Bob Greise" rule, and not allow Eddie Olczyk to EVER do a Bruins game again. For those not familiar with the "Bob Greise" rule, Bob Greise was a quarterback with the Miami Dolphins in the 60's and 70's. After his playing career, he got into broadcasting. Whenever he worked a Patriots game, he did nothing but spit hot venom towards the Pats. To the point where he was "unofficially" never allowed to work a Pats game (never mind a Pats/Fins game). And NBC needs to bring that back in regards to Olczyk. In his comments, opposing teams can do no wrong and If the Bruins are winning, they are just bullies, and if the B's are losing, they have what's coming to them. I would rather have the Montreal Canadiens' French broadcaster do a Bruins game, than listen to Olczyk again (btw, I don't speak French).

Now on to the weekend of tears (or swears, your choice). You know how I said I wasn't "100%" behind the line up shuffle? I am now 100% against it. In the past 2 weeks, Krejci and Seguin have 9 pts each (Krejci 7+2=9 Seguin 4+5=9). Fairly impressive. Do you know what their +/- is? Krejci is a +1 and the former league leader is a +2. That is not all on Thomas. You give a poutty forward, who couldn't find a corner with a road map (Krejci) a flashy, highly skilled young player (Seguin), that poutty forward is going to completely forget that he has defensive responsibilities (sound familiar?). Even when the Krejci/Lucic/XXXXX line was being pieced together, they had a better +/-. Claude... PUT SEGUIN BACK WITH BERGERON AND MARCHAND!!!!!

But I can't put it all on the forwards. The soft passes (aka turn overs) between the D's have started to become habitual. I have held out hope for Corvo all year. But enough's enough. With the 2 new additions and Ferrence coming back, I see more of Corvo being a healthy scratch than I see Mottau playing wing.

Which brings us to Timmy. He's been giving up soft goals for about a month now. His GAA has jumped almost .30 goals. I don't know if he's tired, distracted or what... But there are 16 games left and there is NO WAY he should start more than 6 or 7 of them. Turco did not have a bad outting yesterday. He let up 2, but 1 was a clean breakaway that never should have happened. His highlight save though can be summed up in 5 words.

KICK SAVE AND A BEAUT!!!!

waaa not my hat! not my expensive and yet cursed hat! I like the voodoo idea rather burning it!

i PROMISE i won't wear it until after every hockey game has been played I swear! i won't even wear it on non-game days!

As I write this it is 3 - 0 5 minutes into the game. Now I know the Bruins are completly out of sync with nothing going right. How the ____ could they not call that a kicking motion!
And now, Thomas is back in there. The whole idea was to give him some rest. Even if they lose 10 - 0 they needed to keep Turco in there.

I am sick.

AAAHHH!!! I"m not wearing the hat and they're still losing! maybe I really SHOULD burn the evil thing! *panic panic panic*

on a scarier note... what if its ME thats cursed?!!!! I'm wearing my lucky bruins shirt and nothing! I thought it would out weight the evil thing that shall not be named or worn. and i bought my dog a new patriots toy. Not bruins, but i thought it might appease the Boston sports gods in general.

i guess you can now call me "she who makes pro sports teams lose"

Don't blame yourself bella. It's my fault. As a good Catholic, I should know better. I should've invoked backwards. Let's try this again...

Ammaaay ammay ammay ammay ammay.

ok I know I said i didn't like Rask because he let in easy goals... but uh... I WANT HIM BACK! Oh but here's Turco...what is this, i don't even.....
lets see how this goes again...

No effort tonight across the board. What an embarrassing game.

Ok. First, Bella, you don't have to burn "tHAT which shall not be named." You do however, have to put it in 1 of those vacuum storage bags or a ziplock or something that can possibly contain the evil that lay within. While your at it, look inside at the tag inside and see if it says " fait à Montréal " or " Made in Vancouver ".

Next... So, someone in Toronto can see a (ahem) non-kicking motion from 1330 miles (2140 km) away than the official that was 2' away. There was NO ANGLE that said that it was an incidental foot motion. But the on-ice officials aren't completely blameless. Let's look at the 3rd goal that was a direct result of a (ahem) roughing call on Thornton. WHAT?!?!?!?! If that was roughing, than Meyers of Buffalo should've been convicted of murder and gas chambered, instead of a 3 game suspension. But the ref wasn't the only 1 to blame on that goal. Ohhh no no no no no... Not by a long shot. But taking the ref out of the equation, I lay the blame 20% on Turco for over committing before Shannon made his move; and 80% on Krejci, whose "Kessel-itis" will not let him look anywhere but straight at the opposing goal, unless he has the puck. The pass that set Shannon free went right by Krejci with not so much as a flinch or any kind of movement that might divert the puck. OR, God forbid, DORP BACK AND PLAY SOME FRICKIN' DEFENSE!!!!!!! Thankfully, by the 2nd period, Claude finally saw what we all saw. Putting Seguin on with Krejci weakens 2 lines and directly affects your team's GAA. Seguin was back where he belonged. With Bergeron (who will show him 2-way, 3 zone hockey) and Marchand, who is an uncontrollable ball of energy.

The 2 highlights of the game are a no brainer. #1 highlight, obviously, Caron's goal. This guy has done it all since his call up and is starting to make a name for himself. A lot like a certain call up last year who worked his way from the 4th line to scoring 2 goals in game 7. I'm not saying that Caron might accomplish this feat. But they both have a similar work ethic. #2 highlight, after Seguin rejoined Bergie and Marshmont, he was pursuing the puck carrier in his own zone. Did he pass him off to a D? Nope. Did he wheel off and wait by the blue line in the hopes that someone will hit him with a break away pass? Nuh uhh. He through his whole body into checking said puck carrier. Seguin was knocked to the ice as a result. But the other result, he seperated the Bolt from the puck. Welcome back Tyler.

So my lucky bruins gear that isn't so lucky anymore. I stopped wearing not just "that which shall not be named" but ALL my bruins stuff (including a cute shirt from target) and BOOM they win. So don't you worry, its all put away until they stop playing. You're welcome, haha :lmao:

also hope you guys had fun at the game today! it was today that you went, right?
