I have no idea of when the rehab at SAB will be done. However, we do rehab every year and only a third of SAB is closed at a time. And if the large slide is ever closed, we run golf carts for guests to take them over to the slide at BW. To keep a three acre water park pool with sand on the bottom working, scheduled rehab is done yearly. Sometimes they are done early, sometimes on schedule and sometimes later. But in the eight years I've been there, they always have two-thirds of SAB open at all times during rehab.

If you get to Y&B and the rehab of SAB is making you really upset, just go to the front desk and tell them you can't handle it and want to be moved to another resort. If there is availability, they will gladly do that for you.

Every resort and every pool at WDW goes through extensive rehab. It is the only way to keep the resorts and pools beautiful and operating. Unfortunately that means that people will experience a resort with rehab going on. It's really very rare that you don't see something being worked on everywhere you go. How else would WDW be so beautiful all the time?

Even with one third of SAB down, I'll take SAB over any other pool at WDW any day. JMO.

Thanks Teena! Like I said, this would normally not matter on any other trip. (I repeat, I am NOT a whiner.)
I will prepare the girls with the pictures posted and enjoy the Florida sunshine. I will be looking forward to meeting you, as well. Our stay is split between a standard room and CL. CL is booked the first part of our trip.

On another note, we are purchasing a couple of noodles on our way to BC. We will be leaving them, if anyone had their heart set on noodles. Maybe my new noodles will attract the old family to come out of hiding!

See you soon!!!!! With our new system, sometimes we can do annual passes and sometimes we can't but since Guest Relations is only a short walk away, it's easy to fix if we can't help you at CL. And as far as showing the AP to check in, just show them the old one and tell them you need to renew it and will show them the renewal once you walk over to Guest Relations and get it.

Thanks for the info Teena!

Hey - if someone were to ship a box down for certain employees (I think I owe someone some bribery goods :thumbsup2) - what physical address would I use, and to whom would I address it? Would Teena/G**** suffice? I only travel with carry-ons so it might be easier for me just to ship it. You won't be there the day we check in (Friday) to hand them to anyway, and I think G is off that week as well from what he said.

Hi all

I am a guest at BC in May/June this year, staying in a Standard room. If I contacted the Reservations Office, what could I request. For example, could I request...

Near to SAB/Epcot/
On 2nd floor

Would any standard rooms have balconies?

I appreciate that it is a request only - no guarantees.

For a 10 point bonus, and totally unrelated, do the rooms have i-pod docks?

Thanks in advance

Good Morning Yacht & Beach Club lovers....hockey season is over & I have a lot to catch up on this thread!

Love to see another hockey mom on the DIS:cool1:
My DS10 has his last reg. season game tomorrow then playoffs should be all done by next week.
DS14 finished last week.:) Hope you had a good season.

Hi! I'm also a hockey mom. Our playoffs are winding down. Before I know it, lacrosse will be starting......

TaraPA, Thanks for sharing your pictures.

All heading to BC/YC, Have a fantastic time!

As Teena mentioned, rehabs have to take place. Last year I planned a big family trip that included my DH's family (never been to WDW). I booked BC & then as it got closer, I found out BC had some nice construction guys there. Now, if it had been just my family, no worries. BUT this was my DH's family & their first trip  I shouldn't have worried at all, it was totally fine! I am headed to BCV in June & I am sure my family will still love SAB even if it is still under construction.

Thanks for the info Teena!

Hello fellow hockey Mom! We finished high school playoffs a couple of weeks ago and the regular season for club just ended (didn't make club playoffs this year).

Totally agree with your rehab quote - it does need to happen and Disney does their best not to rehab during the height of summer! Best wishes for your upcoming June trip.

Hello HockeyMomR, Our high school playoffs ended last week and our youth hockey playoffs are coming to an end.

Thank you for your warm wishes! I'm sure we will enjoy our next trip. Life is always good at WDW!

Welcome! I'm not an expert by any stretch of the imagination but I also don't want your post to get lost.
You may request any of the things you posted. When we last at the resort, we were actually at the Villas but I requested, "Not 1st floor and Epcot view." We got both requests!
Approximately 50% of all rooms at BC have balconies. If having a balcony is a priority, it should be your 1st request.
I remember the rooms having iPod docks (the alarm clocks had the dock) and I looked at the photos from the 1st page of the thread and it appears that I'm correct.

Hopefully more knowledgeable people will share their answers but I hope that helps!

Well I just contacted my concierge at BC CL about the SAB rehab and was told no rehab is currently going on nor is one planned. I love the Disney Communication..,:rotfl2:

Well I AM a whiner and if that is SAB in early June I gotta move elsewhere. I sent Tara's pictures to the BC Concierge who I KNOW think I desperately need a life or a job so hopefully they can get me a better answer than thinking no construction is going on...

I've NEVER heard of or saw any rehabs of SAB in the summer months.
Seems like they try to get everything done in the cooler months.

I think the work going on is BY the pool not on the actual pool. Something about pipes and the exposed side of the building and the pipes run in the sidewalk that abuts the pool.

Am I remembering this right?

YES!! It is not the 3 main pools that are undergoing renovations/repairs. It is some piping near the area of the pools. This piping may be involved with the pools, but ALL 3 POOLS WERE OPEN when I visited last week. I do not know the status of the hot tubs.

I think this is why the CM reported that the pools were not under construction. It was the area near the pools that is having work done.

:welcome: kingofthedonuts to the DIS and this thread.

Here are my comments on your questions:

Yes, there are standard view rooms that have full balconies, so that is a reasonable request.

I think that Near SAB and Near EPCOT are conflicting requests- do you agree Teena, or am off base here? I suppose that could place you in a room in between the two.

And 10 points to Amanda, the room clocks do have iPod docks. I believe that is true of all room categories (regular and CL).

If you would like to be added to the Be Our Guest list on page one, let us know your check in and check out dates.

Yep, you are right ... they are conflicting requests. If you want to be near Epcot, you would be far away from SAB.

Hi all,

Just booked BC for the 3rd week in June and am super excited to stay there for the first time!

Oddly enough I don't really have any questions because this thread has pretty much informed me of everthing I could possibly even think of... thanks to all for the info

So, can you be assigned to a handicapped room even if you don't request one?
