Am so excited...we just added an extra day to our October stay at the BC :woohoo:

I'm sorry for making extra work, but could you please update my dates to October 21st to November 1st? Also we are on the noodle list (which worked out amazingly well for us last fall) so could you please update that as well.

Once again, I'm sorry for creating this extra work for you.
TIA :flower3:

My pleasure!

Hey, could everyone take a moment and check out the page 1 Be Our Guest list to make sure your information is listed correctly. I'm a little afraid that I may have missed someone during this past week of fast-paced postings.

We went through 10 pages in about 2 days!!!

Thanks! Dee

Of course that means higher tuition for four years - for three kids!

Been there, done that, kids are out of college and I think we are still "paying" for it. But I still feel it was worth it.

Glad to hear there is a secret entrance at YC too.

Well, it WAS a secret!! I found the door at the bend of the walk way there at the marina to be the best entrance for us. You go in and there is an elevator right there. Went up that and the room was three doors away looking straight out at the Lake. Other than the room being "small" in feeling due to the angled roof it was probably one of the better ones we have stayed in over the years. And yes, I was paying for waterview, no upgrade.

This time we are staying at the YC standard view,so are there any SV rooms near to the "secret door" for a quick get away that i could request?

Thinking of the location of this door, I don't think there are any standard view rooms. If you look at the lay-out map Dee posted a link to a few pages back I think you'll agree that the standard rooms won't be "close" but I bet the door will still work for you if you are in that part of the resort.

Early morning hours at HS in the morning and then a real early morning Sunday with the marathon. (DW and I are doing the inarguaral relay. Only 13.1 miles each).

Mike, I hope you and your DW (that's "dear" MM) have a great marathon run with the family.

I'm so excited to FINALLY be booked at the Beach Club!! In November, we rented DVC points & waitlisted at BCV but it never came through so we spent our vacation at BWV (which was great). We're heading back to Disney for our usual spring break trip at our off-site timeshare villa (Sheraton Vistana Villages) but have three extra nights before we check in. We were going to stay at Hard Rock to do Universal but decided we don't want to do 3 days over there. Now we are booked at the Beach Club for all three nights & will just take a day trip to Islands of Adventure on one day later in our trip.

We're booked with the spring room only offer in a garden view room from 4/19-4/21. We're planning one day at DHS & the rest of the time we'll just hang out at SAB. We're contemplating upgrading to a pool/water view.

I'm so excited to finally be staying at the Beach Club - we just love it there!!

Wow Dee...you are up early! Thanks for making this change so quickly!!!

Up every morning around 5 am. No alarm needed for me.

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list on page 1.

Think this was posted on DIS a while back. It seems to show you a computer generated view from each room, dont know how accurate it is. Just click on floor map and views.

I keep forgetting about this! Thanks for the reminder!

Dee - you are an early bird just like me! Even at Disney I'm up at the crack of dawn. DH is a runner so he's out running early while I'm just sitting on the balcony with my cup of coffee soaking it all in and planning our our day!

Katesdad- This is round 2 for us! We already put the first four through Catholic School and college! Of course when my oldest started high school I think the tuition ended up being something around $3000 a year her senior year. When my fourth finished the same high school I think we were paying about $6500. Seven years later the same high school tuition is $11,000!!!!

Mike - have a great stay at BCV!!!!

Good luck to all the marathon runners! DH ran the marathon three or four times. The kids and I just went to watch!!!

Tomorrow is the day I can call DVC and try to change my resort from AKV to BCV for August....not to wish the weekend away, but can I call already!!!! The suspense is killing me!!!:rotfl:

We did eat at Kona tonight and rode the monorail around the resorts and over to EPCOT and back just for fun. Most fun a Disney without burning a park ticket.

Our first trip to Disney, we were on the monorail and my younger sister commented that she could just ride that all day. My older sister pointed out that we didn't pay $200+ for park tickets just to ride the monorail. (BTW, we were all adults.)

My family and I will be arriving at the Beach Club on March 20th for the first time. We have previously stayed at the Poly, GF, POR, AND CBR but my DH longs to be able to walk to Epcot each evening. I have been following your pages to familiarize myself with the layout of the land and I have been able to get lots of information. My Ten year old DS is a Harry Potter fanatic and we plan to spend one day at Universal for him. I am absolutely clueless about IOA and I'm trying to get as much info as possible before venturing into the unknown. We will not have a car with us, so I am trying to decide our best transportation option. Any help will be appreciated. Already have my reservations for Ohana one night. so excited. It will be here before we know it. BTW, I magically got a pin number right before I called to book our vaca.

You could rent a car from the Dolphin... Alamo and National are there. I usually rent from Alamo. You can pick it up in the AM and return it the next morning AM. Check it out it's worth a shot. Driving is very easy there... If I can do it anyone can do it! Good Luck!

Super quick update from BCV. Got checked in today @ 3:30. So glad to be 'home'. No luck with early checkin on this trip. We are in room 323 overlooking the courtyard. Sitting here looking at the Solarium as I type. Did not make it to a park today. Had to get sisters and get everything checked in. We did eat at Kona tonight and rode the monorail around the resorts and over to EPCOT and back just for fun. Most fun a Disney without burning a park ticket.

Mike, Best of luck to you, your wife and the whole family running tomorrow!!

Good luck to you as well Amanda and anyone else who is running tomorrow!!

~Nannette

Can you remind me of how many you have in your party, ages 3 and up? If you have a full party of five (everyone is age 3 and up), then you'll have priority for a daybed. We actually do not request a daybed because we're a party of five, so they will try to find a room that fits us.

We are a family of six. We have 13, 11, 7, 2 (at time of travel). So i guess they will automatically give us a daybed room. I will request Full Balcony, Epcot View.

I am so excited! Thanks for all of the great advice!

dheinz: I just wanted to give you a posting tip if you don't mind. I've noticed that you've tried to quote people a few times and you may have noticed that it doesn't quite look the same as when other people quote. What I mean is, if you see my quote of your post above, it's got that nice little box around it. That is missing from yours. The reason...you aren't closing the quote so it's not boxing it out list this. At the end of the portion you want to quote, just make sure you put [/quote] and that will close the quoted post. :)

My 2011 Trip Report has a chapter titled "The Monorail is TOO a ride!"

For the record, my thrill-junkie teenager does not agree.

I hate driving on vacation, so I totally forgot about this option! When you are pricing this out make sure you add in $14 for the parking fee if you are driving to US/IoA/Citywalk

I'm actually now considering upgrading to Club Level as a surprise to my DH! We're planning on spending a good amount of time at the resort so I think it would be worth it for us. Club Level Garden View is only $20 more than Club Level Standard view so I think I'll go with that.

Any suggestions for room requests? I'm going to put "full balcony" as my first request. Are there club level garden rooms that face Epcot & have a chance of seeing some of the higher fireworks? We enjoyed watching Illuminations from our beds when we stayed at BWV in November!

I think you guys will LOVE CL!! The lounge is so nice, and the CL CMs have always bent over backwards to help us with whatever we needed. I haven't done CL at BC, just at the Poly and WL, but I'm excited to try it out on our upcoming trip. I'm sure the BC staff is stellar, as well!! :goodvibes

Hi Amy! Dee is the official keeper of the info, but I think all the BC GV CL rooms have full balconies.

P.S. - I'm noticing that families of 5 can no longer books BC GV CL - just standard or deluxe. I think that's a great improvement in the reservations system, given the configuration in most BC GV CL rooms. (And I guess I'll just have to book deluxe if we stay CL at BC again!)

Dee and Robyn, I just delivered your messages regarding the secret entrance. He was very excited to hear from both of you! He said "I can find it and I can take a picture! Can you tell them that?" He also asked, "Did I get any messages from Sue?" Sue, any more tips?

Following up on Nannette's comment, it's been so easy for us to deal with Alamo at the Dolphin. It's literally the easiest rental car return process ever. Just drive up and hand over the keys! In April, we're renting at the beach and then driving to Disney mid-week. Since it's a weekly rate, I'll just keep the car at POFQ, drive over to the Dolphin the morning we check in at YC and then walk over to YC.

I promised my DH no driving this trip (he stressed about it last time) but as I was reading about the car rental at the Swalphin I was thinking "outlet malls"!!! :lmao:

I just realized something else that I need to factor in to my DDP considerations - we are spending one day on the "dark side" so we will be eating there and won't be using the dining plan that day... I have a late supper booked that night at Captain's Grille, but who knows if we will make it back for that? Also, since Brown Derby is 2 TS credits, we will most likely pay that one OOP unless we miss our Captain's Grille ADR. That will add on to our OOP costs and change my calculations. Looks like I have to do more MATH. LOL

My head hurts!!! :rotfl:

Hi I was wondering if you could make a quick clarification for me. I've seen a lot of requests for full balconies. I wasn't clear if this was for the BC or YC. I was under the impression that all of the rooms at the YC had a full balcony. Please help! Thanks :)
