well, we just return from our fabulous trip @ the beach club concierge's level touring a family of 29!!! i am so spoiled now. our room was right outside the lounge & concierge's. it had 3 huge windows and a balcony that overlooked the courtyard but we could still see illuminations at night. we were treated like kings and queens. the week after christmas was very busy but we managed to be there early and fp and got to do and see our favorites. the family loved it. one of the families asked if they could get a ressie in the castle with cinderella and i was like good luck with that one, and he got it!!! The weather was perfect. Our dd loved the slide and she went swimming 2 days. we loved the whole area. the walk to epcot was wonderful, i loved just leisurely walking over there to go to ws and get our snacks and drinks. we spent NYE in epcot and it was the most exciting place to be. i know that MK closed @ 11:30 on that day but epcot was fine. we had breakfast in bed on our free day, it was glorious. i loved having the cordials in the evening. i will dream about staying there!

Thanks for your upbeat report! So glad you all had a great stay!

You know reality has hit the first time you have to make your own breakfast. :sad1:

Must. plan. next. trip!

It's my first one and I haven't had time to figure out pictures and I'll tell you right now very dry reading. I will never make it as a travel writer. LOL

but here is the part that I took advantage of:

So I was out at the stop before 8:30 again and got a ride on the first MK bus to pull up. I waited maybe 5 minutes. It was busy and I ended up squished in one of the back seats as today’s group of riders knew the right place to line up. But still it was cool and I wasn’t driving and I was on my way to MK. It was a good morning. We got to MK and unloaded and went through the lines at bag check. And then I did something sneaky only I didn’t know I was doing something sneaky but still I totally took advantage of it once I figured it out.

Everyone was waiting and looking up at the train platform, people were there and you could see movement but no show as of yet. It was a little before nine, maybe 8:45-8:50 maybe a little earlier, I don’t know what time they do the little opening show but it hadn’t started yet. Anyway I was trying to avoid the sun; even with the hat and sun block I was trying to avoid a burn. (Which, I did by the way. I mean my nose and cheeks were slightly red but elsewhere just pink.) I was just slathered in high SPF sun block and I did my best to keep aware. So I headed over to the left where the little shop is beside the tunnel to enter. There was a crowd of people there but I could kind of stand close to the building and be shaded. Next thing I know a guy is ushering us in. I figured I must have missed the opening since I could not see the front. As I entered the tunnel from the side I realize the rope is still up on the main entrance. Nobody else is entering. That’s when it dawned on me, the group by me must have had ADR’s and the guy just thought I was part of the group. Holy Crow! This is where I could have done the honorable thing and turned around, but I didn’t. Heck I just tried to look hungry and headed to Main Street. I took a bunch of photo pass photos and walked my happy little self over to the rope to head to Frontier Land. I feel very guilty. I ‘m sure that the big ole’ crane in my castle pictures are penance. I’d never do it on purpose but I’m not going to pass up the opportunity when it walks up and ushers me into the park either. There I said it. I snuck into MK, and I enjoyed it

Hahahaha... I think it's awesome! You obviously didn't want to disrupt the flow of traffic, and it's not like you PLANNED on doing it!

We had an ADR at CRT one day of our September trip that got us in early, and it was SO worth it. Being able to walk around the park taking pictures (We got one of me -admittedly dancing around like an idiot - in front of the castle with NO. ONE. ELSE.:lmao:)

So worth it. Glad you got to experience it as well! (Whatever the circumstances were that brought you there.... think of it as pixie dust!:wizard:)

Rule Number 1 (and Number 2): NO BATHROOM BREAKS!!!

OMG!!! I'm gonna have to wear adult diapers WHEN I tour with you??? Ol' Marton Mom's got a lot of padding in the back but the adult Diaper thing might push her into the Daisey Duck category

Must. plan. next. trip!

Like Jeanette Macdonald and Nelson Eddy used to sing "When I'm calling YooooOOOOOooooooo"

From the movie "A Christmas Story"

Miss Shields: "But those who did it know their blame, and I'm sure that the guilt you feel is far worse than any punishment you might receive. Now, don't you feel terrible? Don't you feel remorse for what you have done? "

Thanks for the interesting idea BTW. When they have me tied to the electric chair demanding to know who put this heinous idea in my head I shall not utter your name.....

Took the plunge and upgraded to CL! Think it will be so worth it!

You will be ruined for life! Bruhahahha!:rotfl:
I love CL! Haven't done BC CL in several years, looking forward to it this May.
We've done the YC CL for the past 11 Mays, love it very much! :lovestruc

Ralphie: "Adults loved to say things like that but kids knew better. We knew darn well it was always better not to get caught."

I'll send you a GGS with a rock hammer and a Matt McConaughey poster in it, when they send you to the big house MM, it took Andy Dufresne less than 20 years to carve his way out of Shawshank, you could probably do it in 10.

Oh, I love any opportunity to plug my favorite author, Stephen King! Do you all know he wrote that story, as well as "The Body", the basis of the movie Stand by Me?

:wizard:
Um. No did not know this. I'm skeptical of some of those plots. The first was so lightning in a bottle wonderful that I'm willing to watch, but it better be darn good.

I'm totally on the next bus, you don't even need to leave me a box of money under a rock that does not belong in a wall under a tree in a field south of town.

Agreed! After our first CL stay at BC last year, we're hooked! For our short YC stay in April, however, I haven't booked CL yet. It's Easter week, so the rates (even with spring discount) are very high. And it's just two of us instead of the usual five. But maybe traveling on my own with our 5-year-old son is reason to book CL! I'd love to hear what you love about YC CL, and what keeps you coming back! :)

Love SK. Haven't read his newer stuff, I'm totally in the IT, Cujo, Firestarter years.

Loved Stand by Me. You know who you're real friends are when they help you do a leech check in your tighty whiteys.

Favorite ss is The Mangler.

Wow!! That is an EXCELLENT idea!!!!

How about an "adult beverage" station at the entrance to the International Gateway under the covered pavillion just outside the gate entrance (What was that structure originally designed for anyway? It looks like a bus stop. See pic).
IntlGateway.jpg

The refreshments would be available to residents of YC/BC/BW to compensate for the long, arduous trek coming or going to/from EPCOT. :thumbsup2

I want to know what the putting green oval is all about.

I could go on all day, so I'll make this my last SK post, but...

Did you read Eyes of the Dragon? One of my favorite books of all time!

It, The Stand, Salem's Lot. All great. Gunslinger/Dark Tower series- still working on it- finished book 5 of 7. Some of the news stuff is so-so. Cell was not that great. One of his gorier stories.

Favorite ss I think was Quitters, Inc. about a stop smoking treatment plan.

Oh, and connecting this back to the BC thread:

I love reading a Stephen King novel when I am out on the balcony at the Beach Club enjoying my smuggled GGS.

Have to pack eye of the dragon for my next Beach Club vacation. I've been eyeing the Gunslinger.

When the first Epcot resorts opened it was a tram stop. The tram then took you to YC and BC instead of walking or boats. With the opneing of BWI, Swan, Dolphin, and Studios, the tram was eventually dropped and the boats introduced.
They sill use it for DVC events and set up tents there at times.
