Ok - after reading a couple of posts about the noodles -- can I get in on the swap? We'll be there March 10-17 (BC-CL Yay!) in the first week of the spring break crowds :cool1:
2nd time at the BC -- this is after saying we would repeat any resorts until we had stayed at all of them -- but BC std room is different from BC-CL -- right???

Ann, we've appreciated Caring Bridge in so many situations involving our own friends and family, so I followed your link to learn more about Elke. Thanks so much for sharing - what a strong little girl! Wishing you and your family good health in the New Year, and hope you have a wonderful trip! Please let us know if you have more questions! :)

Thanks, Pixarmom! She is doing fairly well (which is why we are considering another trip to WDW). Her Make-a-Wish trip was two years ago, and although it was an awesome experience in so many ways, she was in a lot of pain, on morphine most days, etc. Our time in the parks was greatly affected by her health (which you would expect, of course, on a MAW trip). I'd love to go back and experience everything as a "regular" family :).

And we're pondering the whole Beach/Yacht Club experience not only because of the awesome looking pool, but also because of its location. My older girls had to sacrifice a lot during Elke's cancer treatments, and my oldest would really love to be around the boardwalk, Epcot, etc. If we were catering to Elke I think we would do a Magic Kingdom area hotel, but I think she'll be happy with SAB and just being in Disney!

Thanks, MM! I'll check out Google Earth, and the boat stops shorthand is very helpful.

I might check out the Grey Goose slushies too....

Our mantra about the GGS is "remember a container or chug the remainder!" That's because you can't leave Disney parks holding an open container of Alcohol, so..... we just dump our slushies in our refillable mugs or other non alcohol looking container and saunter out of the park and back to the BC or YC with the "alcohol police" at the Park exit being none the wiser.

Keep in mind we are talking about doing this only if you are not driving and you are just walking back to your room.

All this came about because MM purchased a GG slushie as she was leaving the park one night and she got a vicious ice cream headache as she had to chug the remainder and catch up with her group!

Subterfuge and knowing how to work the system are Marlton Mom specialties!

I also really believe that all of your kids are going to love BC/YC. The Pool is to die for and the buses to MK really run great so you won't even miss the Monorail resorts. I'd bet a million enchiladas that your kids will not stop talking about BC/YC and that pool and you'll be sentenced to a lifetime of BC/YC lovin!

Good for you! You will love your solo trip! I can totally relate to how your decision was made! In my case, I think I'd have to take off with all of the cords for the gaming systems for anyone to notice! Awesome to be able to take advantage of the "free"day too! Will look forward to hearing more of your plans!

re: Cords :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :thumbsup2

Thanks for the evil plan. I can hold the cords hostage and mandate that their safe return be preceded by a thorough house cleaning. The best part is that I can stash the cords in a place where they will never look, like the dryer! Mwa Ha Ha!!!

a million enchiladas!!!!!!!!

I probably should have said a million Grey goose Slushies. Can you imaging the size of the container to sneak THAT out of the park? :woohoo:

Add me to the list. We're official now. Beach Club from June 9th to June 23.

I was about to ask if there was a "happy dance" icon but I see it now.

You got it! Added you to the swap and to the Be Our Guest list

Took the plunge and upgraded to CL! Think it will be so worth it!

You have discovered the secret of the suggestively dancing bananas!

Not only do they represent a "Happy Dance", but we learned a few threads back that properly placed, in groups of 3, they can nullify unintended insults and minister a multitude of sins.

I seem to remember reading a whole thread on dancing banana's....... Not there myself.... 3 kids in 1 room....

Quick. Gotta get out the door for RD at HS.

Welcome Wee Annie. Loved reading about Elke. Sounds like a great family you have there and that is soooo important. Great to see so many booking trips and nailing down plans (Even if you are leaving the family home :thumbsup2!)

MM I understand (and more to the point my family understands) the patience it takes to take photos at Disney. But I didn't take my camera with me the first day and I would be constantly seeing picture I was not taking (re:missed forever!)

Artist Point was great. We had the salmon and scallops. Will post more details later. DSis's arriving today and over to BC in the morning. :thumbsup2 You know how you feel and you're ALMOST HOME. Love WL and area but miss my BC.

Well gotta go. Gotta bus to catch. More later....:cool2:

Yes, they'll never look there! Better hide the controllers too, and the TV remote, just to be safe !!:thumbsup2

WeeAnnie-- I hope you have a wonderful trip wherever you decide to stay! My children have been spoiled by SAB! (and DH also---so much that we're making a 3rd trip to BC). We also love the proximity to Epcot and since DS4 loves the monorail, we often walk to the front of Epcot and catch the monorail to MK. I would highly recommend renting a stroller from one of the offsite rental places (Orlando Stroller Rentals or Magic Strollers)--they have baby jogger strollers (city classic/elite) that are great for 5 and 6 year olds, comfy, fold easily, hold all of your "stuff", and they deliver to Bell Services at the hotel. Plus you have it for your entire stay and can take it wherever you need to go. It has a large sun canopy to keep your little princess in the shade while she rests her little legs! And DH says that they navigate curbs and uneven pavement very well! DS4 will not ride in a stroller anywhere except Disney and DD8 looks at it very longingly after a tiring day in the parks. ;)

MM--enjoy your solo trip!! My semi-solo (kid free) trip in December was one of the best things that I have ever done for myself. My friends were a bit more Disney Commando than I expected, but we had a great trip and I saw so much more than I usually do when I am concerned with everyone else's welfare! I felt much less guilty than I thought I would! (Of course the box of Muppets, Duffy the Disney Bears, toy monorail, caramels from Germany, etc. that came home with me weren't bribes or anything :rolleyes1 ). I can't wait to see all of your pictures! :goodvibes

Given the proximity of BC to WS and France especially, I suggest a new petition - install a slushy pipeline from the kiosk in France that serves the slushies to the refill station at Hurricane Hannah's. Just for BC/YC members of course!

I'll even offer to dig the trench!

So I found out a week ago that a relative was going to Disney this coming week. They (mom, dad, 5yo girl, and the mom's aunt) just decided to take the trip around a month ago. Yeah, well as the dad says "if I knew then....". So I managed to snag them a breakfast one morning at Cape May so that they will have at least one guarenteed character interaction, but I'm not sure on which. Website says Minnie, Goofy, Donald. Anyone eaten there lately can tell me the current lineup?

I'm going to stalk the website for the next couple days looking for a resort/MK princess meal, or try to find out where the MK meets are.

At least they'll get to see the BC.

Hey I thought I'd give you the end to this post.

They got back last saturday.

They had a BLAST. The Dad said daughter (5 year old princess) had the best time ever. They did MK Wed and Fri. They took all the advice that I had gleaned from this board and had a plan. She saw all the princesess and the other big charecters (they did most of their time Wed doing meets) got to ride most of the Fantasy Land rides and really everything except Tomorrow land (splitting thier fast pass options into sets of two and taking turns with the little girl on as many rides as possible). Her favorite ride was BTMR. All she would talk about before the trip was meeting Minnie and Aurora and they were really afraid it would be too busy to give her a Disney experience that she was wishing for.

They got there early. Only one bag between the four of them so while one entered bag check the others, could go ahead and start the fp/line process. Timed out fp and non-fp rides to maximize thier fun. (I didn't know that after two hours you could get a new fastpass even if you're window hadn't opened on the ones you had, but I did give them the heads up to collect collect collect and use them later He might have given Dee a run for her money on the fp in hand from what he was telling me).

The breakfast at BC was the highlight of her trip. They were really impressed with the location Teena. Little girl was absolutly enchanted with the breakfast and resturant and meeting Minnie. He said it was worth every penny to see her face.

The only thing is they want to go again in 2013 after FLE is complete. He wants an onsite stay (they were at Wyndem Bonnet Creek, best price he could get since they only had a month to find rooms), and rent a car. He did not like being held hostage to the food prices at Disney and he said the hotel they were at was even worse. He also hated the shuttle system at Bonnet Creek (they used taxies for early arrival at park and ADR at BC) He just wanted a little more freedom to see Orlando and to eat other places. I've already told him that I'd help him plan and that he needed to join the Dis.

Thanks to you guys and all the tips I could give him they did a lot even though they were there at such a crowded time and had a very magical time. They were very sweet and bought me a little souvineer for helping them plan, but I told them how great everyone at the DIS was (expecially this thread) and that all of your knowledge made me seem like more of a pro than I really was.

Thank you guys, There's a 5 year old princess that had her dream come true for Christmas and you were a part of it.

Wow!! That is an EXCELLENT idea!!!!

If we keep going and install a Caramel conveyor belt from the Karamell Kuche we might never have to leave Storm A Long Bay!

Being on the Dis is like being part of one giant Disney brain. The answer is in there somewhere... you just have to look around or ask and it's yours!

Thanks for the great follow up. Doesn't it feel great to be able to help others the way that you've been helped? That's what I love about the Dis and especially this YC/BC board!

:thumbsup2
