I know I know I think... it's in OKW the diner place.... Olivia's! Or maybe B&C!!

Oh Teena!!! I was so hoping and praying to read exactly what you typed. What a wonderful Christmas this will be :)

When you have that Grey Goose Slushy, have one for me too!!!

Our daughter took her last two finals today, Analytical Chemistry and Animal Physiology (dual Biology/Chemistry major) and will be driving home from RI tomorrow. Our son begins his leave after he finishes for the day tomorrow and he and his GF have a 1:00 am red eye from SEA through MSP. All 5 of us meet up in MCO around 11:45 Saturday morning. I'm not sure who is more excited, the GF who has never been or me who can't wait to see her face when she sees it all.

Time for me to rejoin the conversation since we'll be booking our trip in just a few weeks.

Heather, loving living vicariously through your pics!! I love the one of you and DH at Illuminations.

Teen, awesome news to end the year! I know you'll be happy to see the back side of 2011 (except you got Lily!)

Ran the numbers on my reservations - looks like $1200 plus tax for just the TS dinners we picked. Now I have to figure out how many are 2 credits on the DDP and do a number crunch. I'm assuming I can add the DDP any time before I go since it is a package upgrade, right?

OMG when I first added the ticker I dreamt about the Mickey pushpin being on SSE. Getting so close!

Heather - love your pictures!

Although I can't wait to get to the YC, I also like seeing pictures from the Contemporary, since that is where we stayed last time.

Looks like you are having a fantastic trip!

As you can imagine we had a busy day. AK first thing. Knew it was going to be a good day when we walked up to the bus stop and an AK bus was pulling in. Rode EE twice, Dinosaur (which I hate), Primevil Twirl and did a wonderful early Safari. Had an early lunch at Yak & Yeti. A new favorite of ours. Came back. Then a NAP!!.

DW and I then did a walking tour of BC, YC and BWI to see all the decorations. Simply amazing with all the live flowers, gingerbread and Christmas trees. Then over to EPCOT for more live entertainment and FOOD! We ate at Tutto Italia for the first time. Very nice. Great service. And we are kinda partial to Italian food.

We came back to the room and I read MM's note on fireworks shots. Kinda funny because I had practiced what you suggested on Spaceship Earth before I read your note. So back to EPCOT for Illuminations and some real fireworks shots. One thing I found out. My respect for the photographers that get those great fireworks shots has gone up tremendously. I came out with a few 'good' shots but also a lot of blobs. Thanks to MM's note I now know this is kinda expected on a first time out. I will keep trying.

Now a couple tips/scoops.
Resort merchandise has returned. To Yacht Club that is. Saw they had shirts and jackets with the full logo. Did not see any in Beach Club yet.
The boat with Mickey that was located in the YC gift shop is gone
And if you get a chance to see the World Showcase Players in UK take time and do it. A really funny bunch that gets the crowd involved.

All for now. Off to airport in the morning to pick up DGS. We will be moving out of studio and into the 2BR Villa. And also MVMCP tomorrow night. Ah. No rest for the weary.....And loving it.

Bye for now. Mike B

Heather ... you are so right about Old Key West. I love their units. So super large. That was the very first vacation club resort After they built that one, they decided to make the rest of the units smaller at the next vacation club resorts.

If I stayed at vacation club resorts, obviously BCV would be my first choice (pool and location) but I absolutely love Old Key West and that would always be my second choice. I always feel like I'm at a Disney town when I'm there.

Glad you are having fun and glad your sister-in-law is better!

MVMCP was ok. I don't think I will be going back. The reason why is it is way to crowded. Because of the parades ect. you can't get to any rides and you are routed all over the place. We did hit tommorow land and waited over an hour to get belle and beast photo. We wanted the seven dwarfs but it was 1 45 min wait. Just not worth the money. I will wait till the last party is over and see the parade and the fireworks then.

I've always thought that Illuminations is really hard to photograph because the fireworks are low to the ground, smokey and they use way to many of those white phosphorus fire works. Add to that a spinning globe and it's a photographers nightmare! Mike do not be hard on yourself!

Fantasmic is Evilly hard to photograph as well! The light levels change dramatically and there is a lot of movement of elements so it's almost like your camera is having a nervous breakdown trying to figure out how to meter the shots.

The Magic Kingdom fireworks are where you are really going to shine. The difficult part with the MK FW is metering for proper exposure on the castle. Of course the dang thing up and changes color on you during the show so just give it your best shot and you'll be amazed! Half the time with photography it's luck, the other half is skill. Do not be intimidated by those camera weenies with pro level equipment. You are going to do just great!

Good luck!

Here are some castle pics Joe took:

Joeseph, this is just a quick note to say that I think you are doing a FANTASTIC JOB with the camera!!!

This castle shot is really good!!!!

Keep up the great work!

Mike and Heather- thanks for the live reports and great pictures! It really helps to make us all feel a little closer to where we would love to be!
