To all our new friends "Welcome to this happy place"!

To all my old friends. Thank you for all the fun. From checking in to see what the Noodle Family has done with construction workers to seeing what teenagers that belong to our families have gotten into this year has been a blast. I know we have had our ups (Lily) and downs but seems like we made it to the end of 2011.

I’ve had the great fortune of visiting WDW four times this year and am getting ready to leave again in a couple days. Each trip is truly different with different experiences and different memories being made. Each one has been truly magical. And you have helped make it that way. To all with upcoming trips let the excitement build. It is very much a part of the experience. Enjoy while you are there and savor the memories forever!

Dee….If you don’t have the activities schedule by the time I get there I will photo and send. Anyone else need any missions just let me know. Y’all know I will be posting while there.

Three days at VWL and then over to the BCV’s with my 2 crazy sisters. (~MM, you would loooove them) They are flying in Thursday. DW and I are doing the Half Marathon relay next Sunday. As I said each trip is different! One sister and BIL doing the full. Other one doing relay with BIL.

Teena…Sorry we’re going to miss you but you go enjoy that angel. I know you and Bob are about to bust to get out there. And again. Thank you for all you have done for everyone here and everyone that has had the good fortune of walking through those big doors and see that huge smile. It does mean a lot.

Dee. Thank you for keeping all this together. Would love to see an hour count of how much time you have spent helping people here.

Well we have 20 or so people coming over tonight for New Year’s celebration. DW is kinda staring at me as she cleans and I type on the computer so I better get going.

Mike, have a wonderful and safe trip! My parents, brother, sister-in-law and niece will be in WDW at the same time - I'm wishing for good weather and low crowds for all of you. They are currently at my parents' condo at the beach - said the weather has been wonderful!

Can't believe the noodles are already booked for May! Thanks again to Marlton Mom for starting all of this and to Dee for keeping us organized with the list. You both know how much our family enjoyed hosting the noodles last summer!

So some of you may know that after nearly 20 years at BC, we've never stayed at YC. My "on the way to the airport" visit in April with our youngest son has turned into three nights and four days! It's at the end of Easter week, so that's peak season and primarily in the no-discount zone. I'm thinking that after two nights at POFQ, we may move over to YC CL. This is my chance to try YC because our older boys are just completely set against the YC side, so I'm unlikely to book it when the whole family is traveling. I feel like I know YC because we do spend a good amount of time over there while staying at BC, and I've learned so much from this thread. But I'd love to hear opinions from those who have stayed CL at both YC and BC - can you compare food, atmosphere, CMs, etc.?

Pixarmom- we've stayed at YC three times. Twice in a waterview room and once YC CL. We really liked YC. In fact, the first time we stayed at BC we were a nervous wreck that we wouldn't like it as much as YC. It was the year we gave all our grown children the "Once in a Lifetime, all expenses paid Grand Gathering" gift. We couldn't book YC with our discount and since we were paying for four rooms we REALLY needed the discount. We could only get BC. Well of course you know we fell in love with BC, but I wouldn't hesitate for a minute to stay at YC again!

Mike - hope you have a fantastic trip. DH has run the full Disney marathon twice and the half marathon once and we had a ball! Hope you have great weather. Can't wait to read your reports.

HAPPY NEW YEARS to all my BC/YC friends. This is truly a remarkable group of people who have celebrated the highs and helped each other through the lows of not only 2011 but all the years we've been together!

This was posted over on another thread. I know that "Gazebo View" is the thing to request for a pretty view at the Yacht Club, but I don't really know
what some of the prettier views are at the Beach Club in the GV category.

I know that MM was not overly impressed with her Matthew Mcconaughey view before it was in full bloom. I hear it is spectacular in late fall, though!

Hi there, I am going to be staying at the Beach Club in May. I have booked a Garden View Room and would love to know if anyone could tell me about the location and view of the rooms? Is there a specific area I should request? Can't wait!!

Hello seaprincess. Although I maintain the Beach & Yacht club FAQ thread, I'm not really sure how to answer your question. I do know that the BC has 3 view categories:

Standard- you will be looking at parking lots or roof tops
Garden- you will see something green. These rooms are located throughout the resort. You could be overlooking trees or bushes
Waterview- you will have a view of one of the pools or the lagoon.

So what you want to do is figure out what the most important physical location for your family.

Close to lobby, Marketplace?

Close to bus stop?

Quiet room?

Close to EPCOT? This would make a 5 minute walk to EPCOT more like 3 minutes. It would be furthest from the lobby.

Thanks for your upbeat note and mini year-in-review summary! Some of us would like to forget what our teenagers got into over the past year!

So, a couple of missions for you... The activities schedule, if I don't get one. What you did last time was great. You can send to either of my email addresses.

I would like to add a couple more lobby photos for the BC and the YC. Full shots showing a lot of the lobbies if you are able to manage that, and I would like one of the ship in the case at the YC if you make it over there during your stay. A picture of some of the YC resort specific merchandise and if you can, ask the folks in the Marketplace when the h*ll we are going to be able to spend our hard-earned money on some BC gear!

I also have your picture of the DVC mermaid on the BCV page. Let's see how she looks through the lens of your new camera.

Hope you enjoy your stay at the Beach Club. This is a great place to hangout while you wait for your trip to approach.

I didn't think the new promotion would really benefit me, so I'm not disappointed (I have my 30% off ). I know Disney is notorious for extending promotions, though, so even though it's only available during a two week period right now, they may wind up extending it (or offering it later in the year), so it might help some others out. Given that Disney had announced a year or so ago that they were going to start reducing the steep discounts, I wasn't expecting anything better than what they already have out. They're not exactly hurting these days. Didn't they have like record-breaking attendance at the parks this past week?

Since posting on this thread, every time I watch Phineas and Ferb now and see Perry (Agent P) "talking" to his boss on the monitor, with "MM" on his shirt, I always think "Marlton Mom".

Happy New Year everyone. I haven't been around for a while so it has been a lot of fun looking at everyone's pictures and hearing about their Disney/Beach Club adventures. I've especially enjoyed seeing pictures of Teena's beautiful grand daughter. It was sure hard keeping that secret last June.

We're trying to see if we can't come back to the Beach Club from June 9th through the 23rd, maybe even mixing it up with a Disney cruise sometime within those dates (it will be my longest vacation in 20 years). We simply fell in love with the facility and the staff last year and couldn't imagine staying anywhere else when we came back.

If I couldn't start 2012 at WDW, at least I can sit at home and watch the Patriots. (Of course, when living in Foxboro, it's best to sit at home on any game day if you don't have tickets because traffic is )
