Good morning USA!……A very early rise owing to the body clock in turmoil, meant a quick visit to Walmart on Vineland Road to gather stuff we almost got last night. Then, a slight detour to Earl of Sandwich at DTD for breakfast. Since the DDP had not started yet we had to pay out of pocket.
Nigel – Ham, egg & cheese
Sue – Egg & cheese
Emma – Ham & cheese
Together with drinks, total cost was $20.80 including tax.
The sun was quite warm already, so we headed back to the Hilton Orlando, for a lazy day by the pool. Since we arrived at night, we had not seen much of the hotel, but one look from the top floor balcony window and we all decided we liked it.

The pool area is well laid out, with a lazy river running around the perimeter. A golf course runs along the back, which I think is part of the Waldorf Astoria complex. Just in the distance, I think we could spot Pop Century. Nothing much else to report for the rest of the day, so here are a few pics of the pool area.

At around 5pm, we left the pool, to shower and change, ready to meet Mart (burt), Wendy and the gang (Craig, Emily & Abi). Tonight we were going to Manny’s.
We all met up outside Cirque (DTD) and both cars headed off down the US27 towards Haines City.
For those who are yet to visit, Manny’s is a diner, used a lot by locals, with good food at a very reasonable price. One thing you notice when you first enter the chophouse, is the wide and varied collection of road signs, and car registration plates – including a fair few London cab plates. I had taken my old plate with me. Manny was out of town, but his son came over to us and said he would get it displayed with the others.

On to the food…..first off was the famous salad bowl. I could (and have in the past!) clear the salad bowl on it’s own, but past experience has taught me to show some form of restraint. On to the mains
Nigel – T-bone steak & fries + ice cream + 2 buds (2 for 1)
Emma – Half rack of ribs with fries – Chocolate Brownie Overdose, shared with Abi + diet coke
Sue – Grilled Mahi Mahi with jacket potato + Chocolate Brownie Overdose shared with Martin + Coke.

All in all, a good enjoyable night.
Martin & Wendy came back to our hotel to have a look around.

How far up h/w 27 is Manny's Nigel??

We always stay on h/w 27 but have never spotted it??????:confused3

definitely going to try Manny's on our trip to WDW in October - we are planning on visiting Lego Land and believe it is quite near there. So it is a definite new place for us to try - love the photos.
