WOW!!! What a fantastic collection of photos with amazing attention to detail. :worship:

Your pictures will help answer some of the occasional questions that pop up about the Y&BC resort, so I will definitely keep these posts at my fingertips.

You are all very welcome!

Yes, feel free. I have them in a photobucket account already, so if there is an easy way for me to "share" them with you to save you some work please let me know.

I just finished copying your pictures from pages 187 and 188. I think someone's trying find excuses to keep from going outside today... :rolleyes1

Thanks again for posting these!

Good Morning to everyone,

Was hoping that I could get some info on DVC rooms. Can someone tell me where they are located? Are they scattered throughout?

Is there any difference between Rack rooms and DVC rooms?

TIA,
Brandi

I'll be at BCV at the end of Feb. for the Princess Half Marathon. I will need to get transportation to the Epcot parking lot really early on the morning of the race. I'm from Kansas and have never used a taxi before so I'm wondering how to go about getting one.

We opted for the regular meal plan (1 table, 1QS, and 1 snack) and I'm wondering if there is a place close by to get bread and maybe pb and J for our room...snacks, water, that sort of stuff.

We have gotten deliveries from www.gardengrocer.com It was great! May do it again on our next trip but we are not staying as long as we usually do so I am not sure if it is worth it!

Thanks to everyone for all the great info! We have decided on the beach club thanks to all the wonderful posts of this resort. We are going with another family and no one has been to Disney before. We are so excited! My family of 5 (with 3 children) have reserved at 1 bdrm at the beach club villas. Our question is the other family 2 adults, 2 kids..4 and 1 are not sure if it would be better to stay in the beach club resort or a studio at the beach club villas. We have read all the info posted about the resort , but we would like to know the difference in the size of room of those who have stayed or any pros or cons that will help them decide. Thanks in advance for any help.

I would go with the BC room especially since you have a kitchen in yours...Do they really need a kitchenette in theirs? We were booked at BCV for a studio but decided on a YC room...there was no room avail for BC for the room we wanted on our pin code :( But I know we will be happy with YC after reading all of these pages:surfweb::surfweb:

Could you tell me the difference in the rooms that makes you like bc better from the studio? Size etc? Thanks for your help

We changed from BCV studio to YC room(there was no Garden view @ BC for our dates) because I didn't want the sofa bed...hoping to get a daybed though so we won't need a pack-n-play for our 2yr old.:wizard:

I have similar files!! A bit shorter than 20 pages though. :teeth:

We used that exit/entrance many times! It is a great tip ::yes::, though could be difficult for some to find. :thumbsup2
(oh how I miss hearing "wicked"....from Boston, now in NC 5 yrs this summer. Miss home very much).

I bet your not missing the below zero weather here in New England

The Beach Club Villa's are in a their own seperate building off to the side of the Beach Club.

Both rooms have a small fridge(similar to a dorm style) & coffee maker

The BC rooms have 2 Queens, 2 Queens & a daybed, King bed or I believe a King bed w/ a daybed.

The BCV studio has a Queen bed & full size sofa bed along with a kitchenette(small freezer in fridge, microwave, sink & paper products(I think they are paper anyways)...

I am sure someone can tell you more but that is what I understand from my research and reading info on here:goodvibes:)

I hope I have that right:rotfl:

The concierge/bell staff just outside of the lobby can hail a cab for you. We have done this from the front entrance of the Beach Club lobby. Does anyone know if there are doorman/staff etc. in the BCV or will haleofafamily have to go to the Beach Club lobby/front entrance?

Teena is working today but perhaps when she gets home she can let us know if someone is on duty 24 hours/day in the lobby or outside the front entrance . Or perhaps another reader has the answer.

I'm guessing there will be someone there who can get a cab for you, even if it is a front desk clerk, but it certainly hurt to let someone know the night before that you will need a cab at 4 am.

Both will not be down at the same time. SAB could open on 2/1. All I'm saying is the sign at the BC says 1-3 to 2-10. They usually open earlier than anticipated but they aren't going to tell us that because we could get steady rain and 30 degrees for the next ten days and if that were to happen, then it would not open until 2-10 or even later. So it could be almost done as we speak ... I could go in this morning and it could be open. DON'T PANIC!!!!!! One of the slides will be open while you are there and both could be open.

Thanks Teena :goodvibes I'm not going to let it worry me too much, I was just hoping I'd have the chance to try both slides "legally" when I am there ;) I hope you are on the schedule the week we arrive (Feb 5 -10) Hoping I get the chance to say HI :)

Thanks Teena - I think I'll give reservations a call. Because we're there for 21 nights though I think booking via disney us does not allow us a package that long inlcuding dining.
I think we may have to accept the standard view and pray that we can pay to upgrade when we check in,
Thanks
Claire

Claire....I am wondering, have you tried posting your dilema on the UK Dis forum??? Maybe someone has had experience with reservations/and could also give you some more advice! Just a thought....I hope it works out for you, and you can book the category you want. That's why I stopped booking through a TA so I could have control over my ressie. I want to be able to make changes when I want and speak to the people in the know personally :goodvibes
I hope you find a way to manage the changes you want! 21 days in WDW!! :lovestruc I'm Jealous! :lovestruc

I just can't stop reading this thread! :lmao: I hope you don't mind another question....but.... :lmao:

How often do they not show a movie down at the beach due to weather? I think I read that they bring the movies indoors. Dh and I are really looking forward to experiencing the outdoor movie at the beach, so we likely wouldn't go if it were moved indoors. How cold does it have to be to be moved indoors? TIA :goodvibes

Good Morning to everyone,

Is there any difference between Rack rooms and DVC rooms?

Hey Brandi,
The Rack (rate) rooms and the DVC rooms at BCV are the same. They just do x amount in cash and x amount in DVC points. Same rooms!

Just making sure you do know they will run buses before the race. (At least they did for the January marathon). This is copy paste off event website:

Transportation
Event transportation is provided to race activities for all of the runners and spectators who book their travel accommodations at one of the select Event Host Hotels.

Pretty sure taxi would not be a problem either. It is the same bell stand as BC.

I do not think we can do that at check-in because we don't have access to your UK packages and can't rebook them. We could upgrade you for free if there were availability but to have that availability for 21 nights would be a real long shot. There are less garden views than any other views.

You can book two separate reservations back to back to get dining that way and you could purchase annual passes which would be cheaper than 21 night hoppers for sure. Try calling a US travel agent and have them piece meal the whole thing for you with annual passes. If you need a number for someone I totally trust, just send me a PM.

Thanks again! Spoke to my travel agents again today who 'think' they may be able to book one - am waiting patiently for their phone call to comfirm it so watch this space! Thanks for all your advice - will have to say thanks in person when we're there in August,
Claire

Recently booked our first ever stay at the BC for the end of Aug into Labor Day weekend :woohoo:. It is myself, DW, DS 9, DD 6. Trying to soak up as much info as possible, but it's hard to keep up with this thread as it's about the fastest moving thread I've ever seen.!

Has anyone stayed in the -606 rooms? We saw one when we were there in Oct and want to try and get one when we surprise the kids in Dec. I would like to book asap but I want to make sure what it is....garden view or water view. Thanks!

1606 would be a garden view. However, I'm not sure of the ones on the second, third and fourth floors because if they have a view of a roof, they could be standard.

What do you suggest we ask for? We fell in love with the 2606 room when we saw it. Also is it possible to request a certain Mousekeeper?

I'm just guessing but I would assume 2606 is also garden.

I think if I were you I'd book a garden and request either 2606 or 1606 on your reservation. Keep in mind that requesting a certain room really is a long shot that you will get it. Of course you have to have booked the same category that that room is and the only one I'm totally sure of is 1606. I'm not back at work until Sunday so I really can't tell you anything definite. You could always call the BC front desk and ask to speak to someone in the back office and tell them you are getting ready to book a reservation and are going to request 2606 but you need to know if that's a standard view or garden view so you can book the right category.

I've never heard of anybody requesting a certain mousekeeper.

Thanks we are staying in a deluxe studio, so that would be the Queen Bed and Full size sofa bed, with the Kitchenette I hope!

Thanks for the map, I was wondering where we might end up. I did not make any requests for a room, do you think I should?

Thanks for the update.

DH confirmed last night that we are booked at YC for mid-March and I am :yay: for joy. I am sooooo looking forward to it!!!

We're booked into a Garden View CL room. We requested a King Bed... any chance we'll get it? I hear there are also single queen bed rooms on the CL level... are those Garden View? Are they nice? Are there any near the lounge?

We really want a 1 bed room - and would REALLY like a King... any advice as to what should we request?

Thanks for any help!!!!
