Have a FABULOUS trip!!!!!!!!! :wizard:

One more question for anyone who can answer: Is the BC lounge still open 24 hours? What about YC? TIA!

We were just there 3 weeks ago. The lounge didn't stay open continuously. It closed for short periods of time when they changed the offerings. One night we came back a little after 10:00, and it was closed. When I asked about it, the CM told me that it would reopen at 10:30.

Thanks, I know I am probably worrying for no reason but I feel responsible to ensure that everyone has a great holiday as they are spending a lot of money on a holiday that they wouldn't normally pick because of the wedding.

I am booking the wedding officially pon Wednesday so will discuss it with her then.

Its planned for the 12th September at 2:30 at Sea Breeze Point which is just the opposite side of Crescent Lake so I might see you there! I will be the one in the big white dress!

Congratulations! :goodvibes I'll definately keep an eye out for you.

Are you all staying at the Yacht & Beach or Boardwalk? They are all wonderful resorts. You can't help but have a great time at any of them. Have fun planning! :)

We are new to BC have been monorail travelers. So I have a few questions.

How does it work to enter EPCOT when it first opens? You enter the IG and then how do you get to the front of the park if it is before opening. Where do you wait for the rope drop?

Do you need to request a room with a daybed and full balcony while making reservations?

Do you rent the tubes/noodles for SAB? Is it crowded in June?

What types of activities does the resort have? We have read about marshmallow roasts, movies and pool volleyball. Any others?

Finally, do you watch Illuminations from BC or go to EPCOT and watch with an easy escape not fighting the crowds heading to the exit?

:confused3:confused3:confused3:confused3:confused3

Are you sure? I thought I read somewhere that all the Club Level rooms had the large balconies...

The following club level fifth floor rooms do NOT have full balconies:
5648, 5662, 5664, 5692, 5726, 5685, 5687 and 5727.

We haven't been to WDW since 2008 and we stayed CL at that time.

Are there still refillable mugs? Does BC have them? Where can they be used? at YC too?

Hoping Teena will chime in soon. I had a lovely chat with my colleague in Ottawa about her Disney Christmas vacation and she tells me she dined with a lady who works at BC named Teena.

IT'S A SMALL WORLD AFTER ALL.............

On board the Disney Magic???

Hi Teena,

We are booked along with my soon to be inlaws at the Beach Club between the 7-22 of September 2011. My mother in law to be received a letter from Virgin holidays saying that there was refurbishment going on at both the Yacht and Beach Club during our stay:eek::scared1::eek:

We are going out to get married and concerned that this will disrupt things. Do you know what the refurb involves and whether there is a set schedule in place yet?

slightly worrying that our boardwalk pictures may be affected, whether our room will be noisy etc.

I am hoping you are going to ease my mind!

Thanks

I have no idea what's scheduled for then but there is always something going on ... to keep a resort in tip top shape, there is constant work being done. I assume you are having a Disney wedding? If so, I would call my wedding coordinator at Disney and tell her about the letter from Virgin Holiday and tell her you need to know what it is that's being refurbed since it could affect your pictures, etc. I know if it were me, I'd definitely want to know. It could be something as little as painting the front entrance but you should find out.

As far as rooms being noisy, all "noise" refurbs are done during the day when people are not normally in their rooms. Unfortunately, it's a constant job to keep all the WDW resorts in great shape so there is always something going on.

I just received my second pin code in six months and feels as though the Disney Gods are telling me to go back to my favourite place! :lovestruc I really liked the idea of Beach Club when I saw it last year and am excited about trying it out. I am trying to decide if it would be better to stay club level and pay for any extras OOP or do a regular room with DDP. My oldest son is 10 and a VERY picky eater, he certainly would not be eating $46.00 of food per day. I was thinking of Yachtsman, Cape May and Artist Point for dinner, along with Hoop Dee Doo for a dinner show. Do you think we would be able to manage with evening munchies from the lounge on other evenings?

We would be looking at the second week of May or so. :goodvibes

Thanks for any advice!!!

Susan

The entry to EPCOT through the International Gateway has its own separate rope drop in the morning at the same time (or occasionally a little earlier) than the front of the park. Once you go through the turnstiles, you walk through an emply UK and Canada to get to Future World. You can then go wherever you want in FW. You do not need to go to the front of the park, because you have already entered.

We are always about 5 minutes later than rope drop so we don't know exactly where. Is is before you enter UK, or is it after Canada, right before FW?

I believe if you have a party of 5 you will automatically be assigned a room with a daybed.

If you are a party of 4, you may request a daybed, but it is only a request so it will be based upon availability. The full balcony is also a request.

You should decide which of these requests is most important to your family- if there is no room available with both a daybed and full balcony when you check in, then you want to make sure that whichever one you want the most is listed as your top preference.

You can rent floats for $3 per hour or $10 per day. You can bring your own noodles or purchase some in the gift shop. Outside tubes are not permitted unless they fit around a smaller child with an adult within arms length. See first few pages of this thread. Never been in June.

Aside from the marshmallow roast, movies and pool volleyball, there is a whole list of activities going on throughout the day, most of them centered around the pool area. You will receive this list upon checkin.

I like to go into EPCOT and watch Illuminations from the bridge between UK and France, and as you mentioned, it is an easy escape back to your room from there (about 10 minutes). You can also see some of the high fireworks from the pool, the beach and from the bridge to the Boardwalk.

Those PINS will get you every time!!!

Here is a link to a thread with photos of the food offered in the BC CL during our stay in July. Go down a couple of posts:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2280631&highlight=concierge&page=187

The breakfast selections offered a lot of choices that would appeal to a picky eater (mine is 12), and include cereal, danish and fruit.

I don't think you could replace dinner with the evening appetizers offered. They are more appetizer offerings like spring rolls, chicken on a stick, quesadilla- some of them are a bit exotic for a picky eater (duck quesadilla). There might be enough to tide you over if you are going to a theme park and will be snacking on food there,EPCOT is especially great for that or getting a counter service meal.

If you are not on the dining plan, your son will have a lot more flexibility in what he can order. If none of the entrees sound good to him, he can order an appetizer for his meal, or one of the kids selections.

Hope this helps!

Welcome back, Teena! We missed you! Hope you had a great time with Jeanne! At one point I heard the weathermen talking about a snowstorm out there. Did that happen? Talk to you soon- Dee

Are there still refillable mugs? Does BC have them? Where can they be used? at YC too?

I need to add info about refillable mugs to front page- but we have not used them- please correct me if any of this information is wrong or incomplete:

Mugs can be purchased at the Beach Club Marketplace. (Can they also be purchased anywhere at the Yacht Club?)

They can be refilled at the BC Marketplace, the Ale & Compass at the Yacht Club (is that correct) and there is an outside self-serve filling station at Hurricane Hanna's by the pool. What about Beaches & Cream?

TIA!

Welcome back Teena. Yes, Jennifer says hi to you! Sounds like It was a great cruise. I couldn't believe when she said she dined with a fellow Diser who works at Beach Club. So now I will have to find you and say hi in March!

Hope your travels were awesome.

Welocme back Teena. Hope your travels went well. Lots of new DISers here on the board looking for your insight and help. How's Jeanne and the "grandchild-in-developement" doing?

To those new to the board, I encourage you to look at page 1-2 of this thread for the wealth of information Dee has posted out there. It truely is insightful And she gets up very early in the morning just to do it!! Also, the pictures on page 187-188 should really help you get the lay of the land and what the place looks like. They are great!

Happy planning.

Just switched my July reservation from the Poly to BC :thumbsup2

I stayed there in 2003 so I am looking forward to going back with children this time! The pool is going to be a wonderful relief from the July sun!

Can't wait to see all the great photos on here to get me excited!!!:)

Yep, a little snow. We had a great "Christmas" with Jeanne even though it was a tad late. The three of us went to Jersey Boys Thursday night. It was Jeanne's and my second time and Bob's first. He wants to go again the next time we are there. I miss her ... hate leaving her!

Jeanne and "peanut" are doing well. She's very very tired but that's pretty normal at this stage. She goes back to the doctor's on Thursday. He's seeing her every two weeks for a while. She has very very low blood pressure .. even before the pregnancy and now it's even lower.

Bob and I really enjoyed Jennifer and Eugene. Couldn't have asked for better tablemates!!! Please tell her I said hi and to email me when she gets a free minute.
