We were just there in October - I think it matters most the time of day. They had a CM out there in the morning and that person would ask where you were going and tell you how long to expect to wait in the morning.
The transportation CM suggested that first thing in the AM the buses went directly to the park, but in the late morning and afternoon they would make the circle around to each of the other Epcot area resorts.
MK buses seemed to be more frequent than the others - but that could just be perception.

So it was in the evening when we were returning that we had the most crowded buses.

We also noticed the ear-bud CM in the mornings. And, we also noticed that MK busses came 2-3 times for each 1 bus for somewhere else. On arrival day, after 3 MK busses went by, I told DW we might be changing our DAK plans to MK, if another one comes. Next bus was DAK.

Life here just got less hectic: I've been released from jury duty. My service is over, and I can return to my normal life.

Hello!

This is a really odd question, and Teena may be the only one who knows this...but:

What is the AMAZING air freshener/ Scent used in the Beach Club. My Husband and I loved walking into the Lobby each night...it smelled AMAZING!

Thanks!

Linda

Green Clover and Aloe is the scent.
We have a system from Scent Air ... www.scentair.com
They apparently have home units too.

NATEBENMA I just went back and looked at the first page and all the info you have made available to us. Thanks for all the hard work and many hours you have put in. I really appreciate it.

Last night I was still playing with a couple of ADR's and noticed that discounts were still being advertised. I plugged in our dates and there was availability! We arrive on the 21st at the YC so it is not like I am talking a couple months down the road.

Even tho there are few ts restaurants available of couple of days, especially Thanksgiving, I have been able to find other dates during our week.

WDW might not be as busy as it has been predicted!! We shall see...

This is a great thread and I've read a bunch of it but not all....so thanks in advance for your patience with this question.

We are booked at BC for 12/19 to 23. Travelling with DH and two teens. After reading a bunch of posts, I'm now worried about where we are going to grab a quick bite and coffee in the mornings before heading off to the parks early. Is there a place to sit at the marketplace? Must we go over to the Boardwalk Bakery? Am beginning to wonder if we should upgrade to CL but that seems like a lot of money just for breakfast and some snacks.

Anyone who can get me off the cliff and convince me that I haven't made a mistake not booking a monorail resort for the convenience of a quick breakfast...please do!

Yes, there are seats outside of the Marketplace and lots of people take their food into the Solarium (across from the Marketplace) where there are seats and tables. They have some nice breakfast sandwiches, french toast strips, yogurt, cereals, yummy pastries, coffee, juice, fruit there at the Marketplace. You'll be fine. However, with four people in your family, you may want to consider upgrading to club level. The breakfasts and snacks (plus the beer, wine, cordials, appetizers, desserts) in my opinion well make up the cost difference. If you don't plan on being at the resort much, especially around the 5-7 appetizer and wine/beer time, then you may not want to pay for all those extras by upgrading to club level. Just depends on what your plans are.

We love cl for the convenience of breakfast!

If you don't want to do CL though there are plenty of tables and seats in the solarium or you can take you food outside and sit on the tables by B&C.

Hi ccrosner!

I just wanted to add that we are a family of 5, and we also head out to the parks very early. BC Marketplace is great for breakfast! In our experience, BC has always opened for coffee at 6:30am and for breakfast foods at 7am. I've seen lots of other guests on the refillable mug march to BC Marketplace bright and early! The variety of breakfast sandwiches, etc. looks great! But we usually stock up on pre-packaged items, fruit, milk and juice from BC Marketplace on arrival day and store everything in our room and room fridge. We also bring plastic sandwich bags so that our boys can "carry out" breakfast cereals, fruit, donuts, bagels, etc. from the room and eat on the walk to the parks or at the bus stop. For longer stays, we make ADRs for a couple full breakfasts in the park (or at the resort) before the parks open.

We do like to stop by the Boardwalk Bakery on the morning walk to DHS, but we love BC Marketplace! :wizard:

Only one month until my first BC stay! Can't wait!

Can anyone tell me about the gift shop(s) at the resort? Any BC gear? We like to buy something small from each resort we've stayed in. Thanks!

Hi!! Is there a room map which shows each room and the category? Staying YC CL GV and would like to know what sort of request I might like to put in--but I don't even know if I'll need to with the new room categories. Maybe just close to the lounge? Any suggestion on great rooms in this category welcomed!

Can anyone tell me about the gift shop(s) at the resort?

It has been widely reported on this thread as well as elsewhere on the DIS boards that WDW has ceased selling resort-specific items, choosing instead to be generic across the board in order to maximize its purchasing power over vendors. This has been discussed often and suggested that if it is something that you find offensive, you tell them so in various ways such as in the exit interview you may get in the lobby on the day you check out or in that evaluation that may be emailed to you upon your return from the trip. Several have reported sending letters of disgust to various mucky-mucks within the WDW corporate hierarchy.

This makes those items acquired on previous trips worth that much more if you want to dispose of them on Ebay.

Here is the old map that has been around for ages.

Note the catagories are no longer valid (haven't been for years) but it gives you an idea of the lay of the land. If you are CL GV you'll be on the fifth floor. As far as location, it really gets into what you are needing for your trip. Many want to stay close to the elevators in order to reduce walk time. Some like to be far away from the lobby in order to reduce any noise factor that may exist (although it has been reported that it really isn't that bad). Hope this helps.

We haven't stayed at the YC in years, we have been staying at the BC villa's with RCI. We go through the main doors to get to the elevators.

Can someone tell me if you can get into the YC through the side doors? with or without a room key? or do we have to go through the lobby? It would be easier to take the stairs if we had a room far away from the lobby.

We are excited for our first trip to the BC in a few weeks. I have been reading in various places that by the time the buses get to the BC in the morning the buses are full or close to it. For those who have been before, would you recommend walking to the YC for bus pick up? Is this frowned upon? Is it even an option? We will have a 6,5, and a 2 year old in a stroller. Any thoughts/advice would be great! Thanks:thumbsup2

In my opinion it depends on the time in the morning. The buses aren't all that crowded after opening sometimes. If you are attempting to be there when the parks open and you want to make sure you get a seat, then stroll on over to the YC and catch the bus there. There are no rules that say you can't. However, I start work at 9:30 and walk near the bus stop around 9 AM and there are people there waiting for buses but not all that many that I personally would walk over to the YC. However, if I had 3 young children and it was 7:15 (park opens that day at 8) and I walked out and there were loads of people, I might take the chance of missing the first bus and walk over to the YC. Also, remember, you have to fold up the stroller on the buses.

There is a few ways to get over to the YC bus stop. You can walk back into the BC and out by Ariels and past the arcade, past Yachtsman and out the front door of the lobby of the YC. But you could also walk past the BC bus stop, through the convention center and then out the convention center and walk to the other side of the YC. To walk in front of the whole convention center and over to the YC seems much longer than walking through the convention center. It's probably not but it sure seems that way to me.
