You know, I think I might just downgrade and get a water view room and have garden grocer deliver the beer and wine too us at the hotel. Really, that is the reason I book club level, LOL. I might as well take that extra $180, get brewskis delivered, and stay in a room with a better view. :thumbsup2

You have me thinking now too!! YIKES I am always changing things around! I could probably get a Water view room/ Deluxe dining for less than what I am paying now. I wanted Club level for the unlimited pop/snacks and appy's for my son's never ending hunger, and for the extra pampering, but what you said about better view/less money is tempting too! ooooohhhh what to do, what to do! :rolleyes1 off to play on the WDW site.
arrrrrrggggghhhhhh :rotfl:
Ps.....whatever I do though, one things staying the same: I REFUSE to move resorts again, staying put at BC!! :flower3:

UPDATE ETA! Ok, after a few hours break and re-configuring my whole itinerary based on Dlx Dining plan.....I came back to my senses!
Leaving Ressie as is and I am staying put with my Club Level Garden view. I really don't need all that extra food on the Dlx Dining plan anyway, it would take away too much time from our day to be running around to all those ADR's......Whew, change averted! :)

Hi Everybody,

Just got home an hour ago. I have some bad news. As you know, I'm part-time but because there is only a full-time greeter (Richard) and a part-time greeter (me - for the two days the full-time greeter is off), I have for the past 6.5 years always worked my two days unless I was away on vacation or visiting Jeanne and requested off. I came home tonight because I didn't want to miss any more work due to all the cruises coming up. Guess what? "Because most of our full-time cast members are not getting their 32-40 hours due to low occupancy and overstaffing, we are cutting the part-timers' hours." Soooooo, they are putting in a full time bell services dispatcher in my spot tomorrow and Monday. Don't worry about the pins - I'll drive the pins in sometime this week. However, we have lots of disboarders there now and I know they'll be looking for me. I feel bad ... they'll think I'm avoiding them. I have no idea if the same thing will happen next week or even for the next few months, etc. It's strange to me because it's never happened to me in 6.5 years. It happens all the time in other departments but because there are only two of us (one full-timer at the BC and one part-timer at the BC as lobby greeters), I have never been affected before. Have no idea why it's happening now. If it keeps up though, it might be time for me to look for something else unfortunately ... maybe back to merchandise.

So, although I've always told you to look for me on Sundays and Mondays and because we only get our schedule less than a week in advance, I can't really know for sure when I'll be there. So, if I'm not there on a Sunday or Monday and I'm not on a cruise, please do not think I'm avoiding you. I'm just not getting scheduled anymore.

I'm also upset because if I'd known, I could have stayed out longer with Jeanne to help with the kids.

Teena, so sorry to hear this. I'm not a "regular" on this board as far as posting, but I do subscribe and read everything here. Was looking forward to seeing you in February. Sending you happy thoughts and hope that something positive comes of this - either they get you the hours you're used to or you get something else you enjoy doing!

Teena that is a bummer. I am sure with the holidays you will get some hours.

Oh, Teena... that's just awful! I really hope it's temporary for your sake and for the guests'. You're amazing in that role.

I'm so sorry for your news, Teena.
I hope this is temporary and short-lived.
I'm a little confused, as I heard Disney was adding extra hours during November. But maybe it's only closer to Thanksgiving.
At any rate, I thank you for all you've done for us "Disser's" and for sharing your expertise with us.
I'll be there at the end of the month and really hope you will be too!:grouphug:
Best,
Gretchen

Teena,
Sorry to hear your not so good news. I am looking forward to meeting you at the end of the month! Hopefully this is only temporary. Hang in there, these things have a way of working out for the best!

Teena - I am sorry to hear they are cutting your hours. :(

They just brought on sooooo many college kids (most are here for six months) and they are guaranteed a certain amount of hours. That means the part-timers, even though most have been there years and year, get all their hours cut.

Can I ask -- what docs??

I usually get the document that is my room confirmation, it has reservation information and the ME transfer docs. Also the yellow tags for the bags. Sometimes AAA will slip in discount coupons and baggage tags as well. We'll see what we get next week.

Teena, maybe one of the resorts in Las Vegas could use a greeter (only kidding!). Hope that this is temporary and we get to meet you and talk about our "Vegas teaching daughters" in a few weeks.

Hey Teena. Hope this is just a one time thing.....Don't know if Disney knows who they are messing with:love:. Mess with on of us and and you mess with us all! Take care and hope it will all work out for you. (and Us :lovestruc )

So sorry Teena! You add so much to this board alone, that I can only imagine what you bring to the BC each day. Politics stink!

First of all Teena, Welcome back. I hope you had a nice time with Jeanne.

I am so sorry to hear the news of your hours being cut. Hopefully this is just temporary and you will be back to your regular 2 days a week. Disney needs people like you that add that extra magic!! :thumbsup2

Teena, :grouphug:

I hope this is a one time thing. How frustrating to learn of it after you return home to work. :headache:

You must be super excited about your cruises by now. :boat:

So sorry to hear that! Sending you some pixie dust - hoping it is only very temporary.

We loved our chance to meet you. I am sure those who are there now will be able to figure it out. If it was me, and I didn't see you at the time I expected, I would ask another CM. I most likely would be worried that you were out sick or something - so I would ask.

oooohhh Teena, that makes me want to cry!!! :grouphug: I feel for you as I know how much you bring to the BC/YC and how much you pour your love of the resort into your work! I almost feel as though you are a celebrity, (well, you are our celebrity anyway! ) in any event, I was so looking forward to meeting you in February. I so hope this is a temporary thing and they come to their senses and realize what a jewel they have in you!!!
pixiedust: that it all works out for the best!!! and I hope we still get the chance to meet in FEB. :goodvibes

Hopefully by the time the next schedule comes out you will be back on it and everything will get back to the way it is suppose to be.

We are looking forward to meeing you in December. You have helped us so much with the planning for this trip and I wanted to personally thank you.

Pixie dust coming your way.

Checked in to BCV yesterday. Everything is going great. Absolutely love it here! I don't know how I'll ever go back to staying at Pop.

Hubby needed internet, so since we've paid for 24 hours I figured I'd pop on here real quick. So glad I did. I was wondering where Teena was today. So sorry they aren't scheduling you and that I won't get to meet you.

I will probably have internet at least one more time this week, so let me know if there is anything in particular you'd like for me to check out for you while I'm here.

I'm off to Epcot now for some lunch and a demo.
