We spent the majority of our stay at OKW but wanted to check out the YC so we booked our one last night there. I booked a standard view room, figuring we would not be spending much time in our room anyway. We went to DHS for the day and took the boat back to YC at about 4 pm. Imagine our complete shock when our very tired little group went to check in and discovered we had been named the "Family of the Day" complete with balloons and an uprgrade to the .......Presidential Suite!!!! Oh, my!:dance3::banana::cheer2::cool1:. Fifth floor, 2 bedrooms, 2 living rooms, dining/conference table etc. the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Instead of the parking lot view I was expecting, we were in the center of the resort, looking out over light house, water and boardwalk-- from one of three balconies! Three bathrooms, robes, concierge service-- we didn't know what to make of it all!

Our only regret of course was that we needed to catch a plane the next day out. Alas, we are home now but it was really a fantastic, awsome totally amazing way to spend our last night. It also gave us and our three children something else to be thankful for on Thanksgiving! Although my husband and I explained to them that we are in our 40s and have never been upgraded anywhere prior to this-- let alone at the tender ages of 6,8 and 10! We don't want their expectations to get to high... and the bar was certainly raised with this trip! Thanks Disney!

Preliminary weather report for our trip this week looks great! Can't wait to throw my suit on and go down the slide at Stormalong. In case you wonder who that crazy old dude is on the slide it will be me!

That one night sounds AMAZING lucky for you and your family, what a treat for the kids. Thank Disney for Pixie dust!!!!!
Did you take any pictures? This is the only way that I'll ever see the Presidental suite.

We leave this week as well and the weather report is driving me crazy!
One day it's high 70's the next low 60's and rain. I'll be sliding with my
kids warm or cold, so I'll be looking for a crazy old dude.

That was quite an upgrade with lots of pixie dust, Mjkre! Congrats!

Found my own answer 102 pages into the thread...thanks.
Hi-

Can someone help me with the Quick Service in the area? I was thinking about BC CL and adding the quick service plan to keep the kids happy. How far is the nearest place and what does it offer. I cannot find a menu for Hurricane Hannahs, which I would assume to be the closest.

We stayed at the WL earlier in the month and they had Roaring Forks right inside the building.

Thanks for any help.

Hello everyone!

First, hope all the Disers heading to BC in December have a wonderful time! I just can't believe how many of us are visiting next month - yay! Our February list is only about 5 families right now - let me know if there are any more of you out there, and I'll add you to the list!

I do have a question regarding an early Ohana breakfast. We usually stock BC Marketplace items in our room for breakfast, but we're adding a few pre-rope drop breakfasts for our February trip. I promise I ran a search on this, but the most helpful results were from 2006.

So has anyone gone from BC to a 7:30am breakfast at Ohana? I'd love to use Disney transportation, so a Disney bus is our first choice. The older threads report buses running at 6:30am for character breakfasts, and either dropping guests at MK or taking guests to resorts hosting the breakfast. But if those with experience strongly recommend a cab, we might go that route.

Thanks!!:wizard:

I agree with your search results- unreliable. They did not instill a lot of trust that we would be able to make our breakfast reservations on time. We have had a 7 AM breakfast at Chef Mickey's and 7:30 at Kona. We took a cab to both, it was around $15 plus tip from the Beach Club in 2009.

I would love to know if anyone has successfully used the Disney bus system to get to an early reservation at the Poly or CR.

OMG I have been reading this thread for hours. We are headed to WDW in Feb w/ a Grand Gathering. However the DH and I thought it would be nice to arrive a few days before the rest of our family and try out a differnt resort. We won't be doing parks for the 3 days so we wanted to choose a resort we really wanted to stay at as well has had lots to do. So we decided on BC. I am so overly excited to stay here. I can't wait. We'll be there 2/23-2/25. There are 5 of us. Me, DH, DD (9), DD (2), DD (infant). We have always wanted to go over just to check out the resorts but there never seems to be enough time in the trip. Now we'll have 2 1/2 days there!!! Just had to share cause....I'm to EXCITED to sleep! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:
Only draw back is how will we ever check out?:confused3 and into the POP?:scared1:

I've been reading through the thread for months. Less than two weeks to go and I have a question. We are staying at BCV in two studios. Us and 2 kids in one and the grandparents and 1 kid in the other. We have requested they be close to each other. Should we call now that it is closer and request again? Should we do online check in or wait until we get there to check in so that we can make the request in person? Thanks. I think the grandparents would feel much better if we were close.

Hi Teena- Hope you had a great vacation!!!!

Are you coming back? I'm sure there's a lot of us who would like to meet you or revisit with you? Hopefully, Disney will come to their senses and have you back for the holidays.

What a great way to start a holiday vacation at the BC with you smiling and welcoming guests!!!!
